They 6 year old bay mare is VERY nice. I like it that she's older and probably didn't do too much too early. You looked AMAZING on her--relaxed and confident. Size is perfect. I've known a number of Connie/TB crosses and they have all been sensible and athletic. For me, it's between the birdcatcher spot grey from the AM, this mare, and grey #2 from Day 1. 🙂

Bay mare is very classy! Loved its rhythm and calmness. Think you two would make a great team because she wouldn't react if you got stressed.

DEFINITELY the 6 year old bay mare! She's the breeding you want, she's low mileage so as you said, you can produce her as you want but can just crack on straight away. Plus she went the best on the flat & you looked in total harmony with her straight away. She was defo a keeper!
Full disclosure, I love a plain bay mare❤ She is so elegant and fancy! The first shot of her trotting was incredible! She was round over her back and her whole body, she was on the bit and she stayed that way into the canter. I think you could actually get her out next year. She has my heart for sure 💓

Im not even done with the video but i really feel like megs taking that 6 year old bay home, hearing her talk about her and seeing her jumping into the water and everything, they just mesh so well!! Also the half connemara is just perfect

As someone who bought a 8yr old plain bay mare that had not done many of her 'firsts' - the 6yr old is my #1 out of all you've shown - what a gorgeous blank canvas with such raw talent!
Loved the first mare, the dark grey, she just seemed to float along. I couldn't believe she is only 4. She seemed very honest, and was balanced in her paces. Going to be a hard choice at the end of your trip!

I can't imagine a more perfect horse than the six year old bay mare coming along in this trip and impressing you more. That smile in your voice on the VO! She's beautiful in every way and you loved riding her--you were practically beaming about her! She was clearly having a great time as well, seems like a natural on xc. I agree her being six isn't that big a deal since she hasn't been over-faced or pushed much. I can just image her and Winnie coming up together. She already feels like she could just fit right into the family. So long as her feet and xrays didn't have any surprises, and a literal Pegasus didn't fly down from the sky on the last day of the trip, I gotta bet she's coming home...
The fact the bay mare gave you confidence and made you feel like you could ride really says everything.
I think that’s exactly what you need at this point in your riding journey - plus she’s the perfect size, breeding and temperament to boot! Rooting for her 100%.
I also love a sensible six - they’re lovely as more matured than a 4 year old but still so malleable! Very exciting times for you Meg! Xx

Oh my gosh, in LOVE with the 6yo dark bay. She's stunning + you rode her beautifully. You can defo see the two of you out on that XC course smashing it together. I know there’s still two more videos to go (!!) but she’s officially the one I’m rooting for!

That six-year-old mare would be an awesome horse for you! She's really solid under saddle, over all types of jumps, and she is so gorgeous. She seemed really sweet too.❤
You and the 6 year old Bay look like you were meant to be! The striding was so perfect and you both looked so happy and confident with each other. I think she’ll be such a good confidence giver for you and in turn you’ll produce her amazingly like your others xx 🎉

definitely the connemara /thoroughbred cross - six year old mare thus far is your perfect match! i guess we shall wait and see what the other options are but it really is looking like her for now. she is super young, perfect age, super fit and has seemingly the same mind set as you in athletic, smart, willing, talented, steady head, sure footed, sweet temperament, quiet, healthy, and she is the perfect size. Though she is larger than your tallest pony, she isn't a giant but tall enough to broaden your horizons in competitions that i think will take your further than before. That is my best guess of it all.
That first mare was amazing. So beautiful and such a great attitude.
The 6 year old dark bay mare is absolutely lovely, and I think she could be a great fit at your yard(like you said Meg). Can't go wrong with a bay mare. Her gaits are beautiful, and she is so honest to the jumps.

I love the horses you tried in that video. Both suit you so well! But I think the 6yo would be the best bc you could do more things with her bc of her age. You also look very confident on her which is very important to 🥰
I still think she's gunna get a bay. The gray mare she likes is gorgeous and super sweet but as everyone says you definitely feel more confident and at home on the bay. She's definitely seems more like you as well.
oh wow! both mares are beautiful! I do think the grey makes gorgeous shape over the fences, lovely natural movement too! Really nice to see such a genuine youngster, would be wonderful to produce. Amazing to see how well she recovered after that little wobble, very honest. Bay is very sweet too, I definitely see the Connemara in her and you rode her beautifully! Also lovely to see how versatile she is, very bold over the rustic fences. Definitely seems like a confidence giver, and ready to crack on with!! Although I must say the grey mare has my eye.. adore her way of going and really think she exudes potential! Two very quality girls!!
I think the Sligo candy boy mare is FAB. Lovely demeanour and moves lovely. I’ve used Sligo candy before on my mares and the foals have been real sweethearts and you look great on her!

Its really Lovely as an Irish person to see you so fond of our horses 😇 they really are great and those yards you've been to are a great example of how horses should be treated and produced 💞 I particularly love the Irish draft horses as they are just so genuine with a great temperment. The 6 year old was gorgeous, she looked very thoroughbred but obviously has the Connie brain. The perfect combination 🥳🤞 looking forward to the rest of your journey 🤗

My favorite of all the horses so far was probably the dark grey 4yo. Her movement was absolutely gorgeous and she seemed to have a good mind.
Have to say I absolutely love the 6yr old Mare. She's my favourite out of all them so far and it'd have to take something pretty special to change my mind. I Loved her in every way!! 😊
Meg, It seems like you are having so much fun in Ireland. Of the horses we saw today the grey mare was an absolute stunner, I thought she rode well, you looked so good on her, she is only a 4 year old but really didn't seem to be as babyish as most 4yr olds. I felt although you had a bit of a hiccup she seemed to trust you and jumped beautifully for you. On the other hand the bay mare was also lovely. You seemed to gel with her more and I think one big advantage with her is you could be competing on her next year. Both horses were lovely but I think you will pick the bay one out of the two. The 6yo brown/bay mare is my choice! You were riding sooooooooooooooo confidently on her and having so much fun. Also, with all these different horses you've ridden your riding is just *chefs kiss*. You really "got back on the horse" and have come back stronger than ever!
This series is SO much fun!! It was my childhood dream to buy a horse, but it wasn't feasible. Finally I get to go horse shopping (just without the cost😂). Thanks for taking us along Meg, I'm totally invested, not just in this series but in the future of whichever horse you get. 😊

Honestly, the seal bay mare would be perfect I think. She makes you feel confident and comfortable, I think that would be amazing to have. Also she’s just gorgeous✨
Not even done watching yet nut: I absolutely adore the 6 yo mare! She looks, moves and jumps wonderful. Really like how the two of you went round aswell. She looked so sweet, sensible, secure and genuine. I personally love that in a horse more so than them being hot. There's a bit of lean way in training hotness (responsiveness) with a sensible horse whereas a hotheaded one who also happens to be a natural daredevil that's something else entirely. The latter type brings fun challenges but a ride like that 6 yo may be a breath of fresh air especially when pursuing higher lvls that might come with some extra nerves.
So far all the ponies have been really nice but this 6yo kinda reminds me of my own horse and how he got me back into jumping purely because he was such a sensible horse.

I 100% think the bay mare suits you the best. She has very good potential for eventing and is very brave and as you said she made you feel like you can ride and at the end of the day that’s all you really want in a horse 🐴

Both of today’s are definite favourites! The bay is a horse you could (and did) sit on comfortably and be bold from the off, but she’s in some ways quite similar to your current girls in size etc. You also looked fantastic on the grey and saw how she reacts under pressure; there’s so much potential for growth for both of you in that relationship
The little bay and you looked so at ease. While you might prefer the "hotter to start" horses, that polite, athletic girl could both be the raw talent you're looking for to go up in levels, but also the confidence boost to do so. A 6yo with a SOLID base who has had time to grow into herself without doing too much, and with talent like that is definitely something to hold onto.
I think you rode the 6y/o lovely. She seemed like a very genuine horse and very willing and rideable

The 6 year old mare is so calm and collected she was very stable and patient calm she wasnt hesatint approaching a jump she put a soft place in my heart and i would love to see her on your channel but ofcourse its your choice not ours but in my opinion that mare gave you the confidence and showed your talent my favorite thing about her was she didnt charge at the jump she didnt spook at anything and for a 6 year old she is very well built and has good manners i would love a horse who loves being a horse but she was just amazing so we will see what happens im rooting for her love you guys cant wait to see the next video❤

Both the mares you ride today are fabulous, I love the way the grey mare moves and has such a great attitude. The bay has a terrific attitude as well and you look great on her and she is of an age that you can really get going with her plus you really seemed to mesh well with her!

I absolutely love both of them. They both move beautifully and both look sensible, but still a fun ride with a lot of energy and "spark". And they definitely look confidence-giving despite their ages, IMO.
I think you'd have a great partnership with either, but as Simon said, you did look "at home" on the bay.
I think the grey just has a "fairytale horse" sort of look to her and that's what I'm a sucker for 😝

I am definitely rooting for the 6 year old bay mare, she is the perfect age and she is the breeding you want. You can produce her the way you want as she is still low mileage and you looked so good on her straight away, she is the perfect fit.
Absolutely love the 6 year old, you could just see how she was able to shorten and lengthen her gallop. She also had a verry nice head carriage and nice movements. I have no doubts that she would be an amazing event horse. 👍 I also have a TB x Connnie and he is 22 and still going strong, so I absolutely recommend buying a TB x Connie for that reason.🙂
