    Even if it’s an old aircraft there is no excuse for dirty aircraft. Come on Air India, deep clean your aircrafts. All you need is some people to clean the aircraft properly and to have a qualified supervisor who checks thoroughly that the aircraft has been cleansed properly. In more than two decades of traveling with Emirates never seen dirty plan or for that matter any hair on seats. That’s cleanliness

    • @JourneyingwithJosiah

      Thank you! This is my exact point- their new planes will amount to nothing if they don't clean anything.

    Very true. I experienced the same issues in the flight from Chicago to New Delhi on the 10th May. It was the same 777. 300 ER. Air India should use good aircraft on such long flights.

    Great video, @JosiahJones! @Journeying with Josiah. You were quite fair with good observations. Your final summary was good and suggestions for people wanting to fly on this route on Air India is great.
    I was puzzled by the instruction for all passengers to close the blinds for the entire journey. And the absence of blankets. Did you ask them why?
    I have subscribed! Thanks!

      Thanks, Robert! The crew acted surprised at the lack of blankets, but they were also not provided on my return flight DEL-IAD. The closed window shade requirement was “for other passengers to sleep.” Thanks for the subscription!

    In short us Indians call this flight "Flying Garbage"
    We flew in 2023 and I'm pretty sure after that trip I felt one day all parts of this flight break loose someday mid air...seats were torn, metal things were sticking up from them, hand rails/ rest came into our hands broken.. charging things broken, entertainement system and remote broken, my kid got wall in place of window for SFO TO DELHI TRIP whole trio he was pissed off.. FROM DELHI TO HYD HE WAS BETWEEN 2 WINDOWS. food is horrible from the shock what I've seen I haven't used restroom throughout... Cherry on top was our flight amazing pilots landed flight 2 hrs late in Delhi...Assuming all the disasters good thst we put longer hours layovet just in case which heloed us alot... Our next seat people almost missed their connecting flight from Delhi cause of that delay...

    Thank you for your review, Josiah. I am disappointed to hear that they do not have new planes on their flagship route - JFK to DEL! I am traveling to Delhi and chose the convenience of this direct flight and to give AI another chance after 20 years - it is a shame that not much appears to have changed! As someone with OCD, being locked inside a dirty plane/train while travelling is my biggest nightmare. When you said, the floor needed vacuuming, the tray had food stains and your pillow had someone else's hair, YIKES! My soul would have departed from my body. Air India is a third class airline. Currently Air India is Considering leasing more Widebodies from SIA / Etihad / Delta to temporarily deploy them on these route while their Legacy B777s and 787 goes for Overhauling. Meanwhile slowly and slowly they will start deoloting newer A350s on International route like they will start fligjts to london on a350-900 in September.

    @journeyingwithjosiah Great honest review, however you flew on one of the old air india planes, managed by the indian government. Recently a company called Tata has aqquired air india, and had made it much better. As an indian, I know that Air india aircrafts are not in good shape, however I think you'd like it more if you flew on the new air india aircrafts.

    Looks like the reviewer is catching an onward flight to Chennai after landing at Delhi. He has not mentioned how his transit experience was at Delhi. Normally the transit experience at Delhi and Mumbai are very harrowing because Air India has very few transit counters and the lines are long. Because of many passengers having just two hours transit time they are often unruly and break the lines. Air India also has doubtful punctuality and so it makes the transit experience nightmarish.

    • @JourneyingwithJosiah
      @JourneyingwithJosiah  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes! I ran out of time to mention that, but it was NOT a smooth experience at all. AI needs to work with Delhi airport on this issue- it took 2 hours for my luggage to get delivered.

    • @cvk4860
      @cvk4860 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@JourneyingwithJosiah See! That’s what was my experience in my recent two Air India trips from USA to India transiting through Mumbai as well as Delhi. They were quite challenging because of 1) very few transit counters there 2) Air India booking transit passengers to other India destinations with just one to two hours connecting flights and these passengers land at those counters and break lines accompanied by Air India agents who hand hold them due to short time left resulting in everyone under lots of stress 3) fast immigration, baggage handling and smooth customs handling- all these nullified by long lines at security and very few international/ domestic transit counters 4) old unclean aircrafts with broken seats, non-functional inflight entertainment, dirty toilets, clogged toilets, indifferent crew mostly. Will not travel Air India again. Sorry to say that.

      @@robertwilliam8429 I didn't know. But, I'm currently living in Colombia, fortunately here the medical cost of my illness is financed by the company in which my dad is working. I know that if you want to enter in the transplant list in the US, you have to demonstrate that you can pay for it, it is extremely sad for patients who die waiting to collect enough money for the life-saving surgery.
      I'm not discriminating India, on the contrary, for me is a very interesting country and I love Asian and Middle Eastern cultures, I'm only saying that there are countries that do not meet the requirements for someone with a chronic illness as me. And maybe there is a bad propaganda around India and dirty places, that's why I try to look for independent travelers like this guy, but as you can see, there is no difference. My cousin traveled to India for work a few years ago and he said that this country may seem great but, like everywhere else, you have to be careful with food, places and people, he was also a little anxious with the loud noises and the dirt. It is something normal if you are from outside.
      I hope I did not offend you.

      @@Jackson34466 I hope I did not offend you. I'm scared because there is always something showing that India is not clean at all. But that's my personal opinion, and it comes from fear, not discrimination. I want to be safe. And I also have seen some solo women trips and men in India are a little bit stalkers, that's sad because you cannot appreciate the culture if you are not safe.
