I'm getting into the habit of watching this video every few days just as a way to relax. It's an incredible song to begin with, and your drums on this are as good as drumming gets. And I am pretty hard to impress! I'm actually in my 60s, so I remember when this song first came out too. If you can figure out a way to get this video in front of Barry Gibb, who I think is still touring, you would probably be offered a job... I doubt his drummer is any better than you are. I have no doubt that one day you will be a well known drummer in a major band... and I will be able to say that I saw you play on TH-cam before you were world famous. :) It's got to just be a matter of time.
Thank you so much for that comment, it’s very humbling to think when I recorded this video it would listened to with as much admiration as you give it! I really appreciate it. I’m currently with an irish band called ‘Big Generator’ who have been touring since the 90s and it’s a good ride so far! Who knows what the future holds, Thanks again for stopping by and taking the time to comment !
Just watched this again... it just puts me in a good mood every time I watch it. You have real talent, not the fake stuff that most people try to get away with. Nice recovery when you drop the stick too!
When someone looks like he could have done a 500 pieces puzzle, fix your car transmission or cook for 15 while playing the drums...you know he is good...Sir, what an amazing cover...Bravo to you for all the practice and hard work....WOW....
I want to point something out here, watch James' cymbal work alone right here starting at 2:39 , just remarkable work, also hey James GOOD SAVE right here, kid!>>>2:59 This guy is an amazing drummer.
Dude you absolutely shredded this, well done! People sleep on this funk--it's a great groove. The displaced snare in the opening section (and also later) is ridiculously cool. Great job on those single-handed 16ths.
You posted this on my birthday 2 years ago and i just discovered it a few weeks ago! Thanks man!!!!! Excellent cover... i love the Bee Gees. I just bought a drum set though I haven't played in almost 4 decades... this cover is truly inspiring. Love your hi-hat work!
Major props to your 16th notes! I have yet to master this skill so I enjoy seeing it done well by other drummers! I love this song and hope to play it well like you do someday soon.
That's was awesome bro! The audio, tuning of the drums, the little paradiddle you slipped in there. All Great! Really love Dennis Byron's fills in his playing for the Bee Gees songs. Especially this one, and you did it "Justice". Well Done Sir! Really enjoyed that! Oh yea, that dropped stick recovery was icing on the cake. Talk about "Not missing a Beat", lol!
My band covers this song and we have been auditioning for a drummer. I always make them play this song for auditions. 🙂💜 You were great! With your little additions of course but you played all the original rolls. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Greetings from India!
@@JamesKDrummer i am a drummer too, i know how hard this song is. Most drummers to do the 16th notes on the hi-hats would do the 2 handed approach, nice to see domeone do it single-handed.
Love it man - I saw this on the FB home recording group, and ripped it to MP3 just to add to my spotify list. I think you made a comment about 'this random old song' or something like that lol. From my era. I think this song stands up damn well. And yes your snare sound is great!
@@JamesKDrummer I think you were into prog or something up in Ireland? I'm US ex- pat living in Kent UK. I actually sent your clip to my old drum instructor (1980!) back in Pittsburgh Pa. because I loved the attitude and the song.
You're an incredible drummer, I'm curious how long have you been playing? I know you don't get that good overnight. You have a gift to "feel" the music. Awesome job.
Thanks for that Freddie! I’m not sure how long I’ve been playing now, at least 15 years anyway! But I work with some really good guys that constant push me to get better! Which helps!

@@DrumslasherV thanks!!
Most casual drummers do not realize how tricky the hi hat and kick are on this tune. Well done.
Thanks !!!
As an ex circus show drummer I can say........brilliant trap playing...
And man... those 16th notes on the hh are incredible. Wish I could do that!
Nice tight snare and big hi hat cymbals, love that classic sound!
Those single handed 16ths are solid. Your hand and wrist look so relaxed. Nice little gadd thing in there too!
Thanks very much!
