Could you point to a cover that ticks all your boxes? Or, better yet, cover it yourself and demonstrate what you mean. I'm not saying you have to be able to play it to be critical from an observer's perspective but just seems like you're looking for silly little reasons to bring it down; the guy is fucking smiling throughout and dancing along with his own playing at points. Outstanding cover young man of this “must have groove” for drummers. A lot of drummers overplay the rhythm, or can’t get back to the one, after overplaying the fills. Timing is key, and you demonstrated for us, how to play this tastefully & maintaining excellent syncopation!!!

Regarding drummer Dennis Byron, and his work with The Bee Gees, I found it interesting to learn that “Stayin’ Alive”, on the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack, features the first drum loop ever recorded on a pop music track. During their recording sessions at France’s Château d’Hérouville, drummer Dennis Bryon had to unexpectedly return to England, due to the death of his mother. Bee Gees producer Karl Richardson took one complete drumbeat from the drum tracks for “Night Fever” and spooled that 20-foot loop of tape across the studio, over microphone stands and through empty tape reels to run through the master recorder. Byron loved it because when he did return to the sessions, all he had to do were some minor percussion overdubs. The band credited the drums on “Stayin’ Alive” to “Bernard Lupe” - a compliment to the great R&B drummer Bernard Purdie + “Lupé” as a faux French version of the word “loop”. The Gibbs insisted that afterward they received numerous calls looking to hire Lupe for recording sessions.

You killed this cover. The toms sound amazing, or should I say, you make the toms sound amazing. I’ve just started trying to do these drum covers, but I I’m getting crazy uptight. Way more than playing shows, or playing with other musicians. Seeing how relaxed you are, and how that allows you to just play is something I’m not doing. I’m not a naturally talented drummer like yourself, but I’m having fun. Now if I could just relax. Great tune to cover.

You have pretty much mastered it, although we can always learn more, but to control your instrument is what everyone strives for and not all achieve! I didn't mean that I had control also, when I said I play like you do, I can't remember what I was refurring to two years ago, but anyway it was a compliment! If you watch some drummers you will see they poke at their drums. but you are confident enough to hit them straight on... like you mean it! The ones who "poke" are not confident in their abilities! Also knowing what to play and when.. that's something that you can learn but if you have it to begin with, you are ahead of the game!
