    I wish I knew why it only made what it made on 20 lbs but regardless, I call it a complete success because this is the first time I've heard a V8 with the natural V8 sound while also having turbos. Most unique sounding turbo car ever

      I think the achilles heel of this build is the back pressure. 8 turbski's means 8x rolling resistance from the shaft/bushings, smaller diameter turbine wheels and back housings to force air through. In my head I see a turbo increasing in efficiency with size, provided you have adequate airflow to spool it. That being said, this is cool A F and I'm stoked someone had the balls to give it a shot. I'd bet he would have a way different result with premium grade BB turbo's. I read they can be 25-40 % more efficient than a bushing/oil film turbo.

      @@davmanderstrom I doubt back pressure is high, k03 on a 1.8t can flow 200hp+ on a 1800cc which would have more back pressure than these.

      @@garyhowe88 a k03 can BARELY flow 200chp on a 1.8t, and the curve falls flat on it's face after 5000rpm. these turbos are shit, no other way to put it.

    I think the return on buying a bunch more better turbos would probably be better due to people like me who originally subscribed because of the craziness of the project. Not saying this should alter your decision but I think it's food for thought as unique content will always pay for itself when it has quality (which this does). I'm here to stay, though. How about we compromise. Dual compound turbos? Compound on each side.

At least you can say you tried and you know the big single kicks ass anyway so back to your roots, those 8 brought you a big amount of followers im sure.     unfortunate however great build. Something to look back at. Going back to twin turdskis just makes life sooo much easier. Anyways you did what no other dude has done before and you had assistance from trash kitty as well and you built it in -40. A true canadian build. Something to be proud aboot. Move on and get trash kitties car done so you can race each other

    Guess I'm not surprised those ko3 turbos couldn't do more that 20 psi long-term, but man 20 psi is a lot for 500whp. Massive restriction in the back-housing

    Before giving up, I would try to incorporate check valves into the turbo intakes to plug the boost leak.

      I wonder if the check valve might cause too much restriction to build more boost than 23 PSIG. 🤔

      Problem can be when they are shut, it takes a bit of pressure to allow it to suck air again, increasing lag.

    I dony think any of us saw that coming....but to be fair, single cylinder engines just don't do well with turbos because of the dely between compression pulses. Super cool fab....the big ass single WILL do better.

    Whats the fuel consumption like at power? Is it only using 500-600hp worth of fuel? Could trans be slipping? Blowing thru converter?

    I had a EBay KO3 do a similar thing on my 1.8T
    In the end I found after 18-20psi it would release a bunch of boost past the oil seal right into the drain/crankcase and fall on its face.

    Blow by, upgrade your internal parts. If it's dropping boost with every pull, upgrade your turbos I'd imagine. It seems that you might have valve float after a certain rpm and the combustion chambers won't hold the boost your putting in. Just a thought.

    I thought when you said 7-8 hours to Edmonton, I thought you were GP Boyz! I have family there but live on Vancouver Island now. Many many hours spent up in Ft. Mac...at Firebag and Kearl Lake anyway. Good Job, too and the VW turbos didn't get you the power you wanted, can't wait to see it with 88mm ..what's your company again..you manufacture turbos? A couple of 62/66 for my 4.8 LS build would be nice!

    That is wierd at 20 pound of boost a well built an tuned LS usually put out at the least 1200 horse I would love to build this set up only thing I would change is have better turbos and a boost controller for each turbo plus a blowoff control holly eliminater would spice the set up too but I consider this a successful build cause there is no way of management air flow or boost unlease you have individual boost controllers plus it didn't sound like it was building boost for like 5 seconds then it would fall flat love the effort 👍🙏💯

    Bro it was a great project, no matter how disappointing the results were. You proved to us all youre not a quiter and hard earned facts is more valuable than bench racing theories. Im guessing that the shear volume of the cold size is what killed the power more than anything else? Can you make a graph overlap video showing us the difference between this dyno session and the first session?

    Fun experiment, get a straw and blow air thru it. Feel the stream of air with your palm. Ganna feel the power of the air. Now do the same, but this time with 8 straws. Now feel how weak it feels now vs 1 straw.

    I think the hood idea is your best one! Take that setup out and replace it with oh, I don’t know, a 7.3 or coyote with a twin turbo setup and make more power than 563 and likely look stock with a hood bolted on it.

    I have built a few race cars in my time and I'm a good mechanic who knows a trick or two to get power. I have been watching your videos for quite some time now. From day 1 I knew that 8 turbos was going to be a fail unless you could come up with something revolutionary in mechanics. Go for a bi-turbo setup, this is the only way to go if you really want to get good boost and power

    With all that forced induction you need a super fuel pump and probably better sparky. All that air is blowing your combustion out like a candle on the Dyno tune. But as is she still ripped like a boss. Good job brother, the opportunity to build something like this was probably fun as hell.

    Kyle honestly id look into a k04 which is a step up from the k03 that your running and is able to spin a little faster and make a little more power without blowing turbo seals and such can get a k04 about the same price as the k03

    Cant wrap my head around 8 turbos and nearly no boost. Not sure if its diesel vs gas since my only turbo experience is with a Cummins. I was unhappy with the measly 58psi my stock charger maxed out at. I upgraded and added a compound. I am now maxing out at 110psi and still want more.

    Have you considered linking your two opposing cylinders to 1 turbo? I mentioned this back in the beginning of this build, but you need to get more consistent flow to the turbo so they don't stall between cycles.

    The only real advantage of multiple turbos vs a single huge one, is the early spool. Hence the compound setup for high power applications.

    I first off want to say that i know minimal things about tuning. But I'm wondering if your rollover is coming from lack of fuel at higher rpm's i'm sure you have a nasty ass fuel pump but are you sure it's supplying enough at high rpms for all the air you're forcing in the engine?

    I think some turbos might have been pushing more. Causing weird airflow. You'd need the furthest one's pushing the most and slowing them down towards the shortest piping. Just a thought idk

    I'd have liked to see the difference in boost pressure on either side of each of the intercoolers - where is the ECU reading boost pressure from?

    Just a suggestion...maybe the turbos should be different sized...u know..like some 4 low end and some for high end...maybe🤔🤔🤔

    If the air is going backwards out a turbo still, what about trying to make large umbrella valves, or duckbill valves? Like a valve of the same design as the ones in the human cardiovascular system that don't restrict flow rate but stop backwards flow so the air can only go to the engine rather than out the turbo that made the least boost? It might work, hopefully. But anyways, if you are going back to single large turbo, this was fun while it lasted, the "Drolls/Trolls Royce" but at least its gonna be street legal again what with actually seeing the road now XD

      @@FirstLast-bi8xi Yeah, like that, I'd presume those are far cheaper to source than 8 custom made valves, the only difficult part would be adapting the charge pipes to fit a square form factor :P

    Super neat, glad you did it, but 1.8T cars make like 210-225hp on a single K03, so those for sure can't be super healthy turbos.

    Looks like a single cylinder is going to each turbo, maybe smaller turbos with more narrow pipes to get more air velocity in the pipes, those pipes look pretty big for a single cylinder. Think about the 1-cylinder turbo minibikes, but 8x. Sweet build
