Bob Daisley is absolutely correct.
When this was announced I went out and bought used copies of the originals. They original parts were later restored but at the time I was worried they may never return and I wanted the real recordings.
The only time I heard anything from the remixes was when Crazy Train was played on the radio. It sounded horrible, the new parts dominated the mix as they were clearly recorded digitally and the sound clashed horribly with the original analogue tapes of the guitar and vocals.
No more tears is my personal favorite, just my opinion
Ozzy should have had more of a man and put Sharon in her place and tell her no but he was a wuss.

Does anyone like Sharron ,other than Sharron ? I mean, even Ozzy had his fill of her and tried to help her go the fuck away once or twice! Shes so... sinister she had to try and get between Ozzy and Randy by sleeping with Randy! Lee Kerslake had to beg Sharron in his last days for the gold records he was due for his work on Diary and Blizzard so he could hang them on his wall! Bob Daisly the most contributing person in that whole situation, he co wrote the music and he alone wrote the lyrics while arranging and producing! While also helping Randy get his footing in the studio as far as recording techniques and such!

As soon as the fans saw the credits on the reissue, word spread fast and the cost of the original CDs skyrocketed. Sharon also had a falling out with Gloria Butler (who worked close with Sharon on Ozzfest for years) so forget a Sabbath reunion.
You're 100% correct on the first two LPs making Ozzy. Personally, I can't stand the Zakk Wylde stuff. I like Jake E. Lee though - they did some good stuff with him.

I’m thankful that at least Blizzard and Diary are in print with all their original parts/mixes intact. That weird Bark at the Moon remix is the only edition of that album in print (at least on CD) today. Pretty depressing it never got fixed, especially since its 40th anniversary was last year. Sharon had some serious nerve to say that the 2002 remixes gave those albums a “fresh sound.” If by “giving them a fresh sound” she meant “inflicted a sonic blasphemy,” she would be right on.
All of the solos on the new Bark at the Moon suck. Ruined!!!
What exactly was done to the CD, and what was the last known proper version? Was it just remastered or did they literally mess with the songs?
@@philfrank5601 changed all the guitar solos on the remastered version on Rock and Roll Rebel. Not sure if it’s the whole album but I stopped after that song.
Wish Daisley, Kerslake and Jake E. Lee started a band with an Ozzy clone. With all that songwriting talent we could have gotten some great music but these guys seemed like they were afraid of Sharon and what she would do legally and possibly physically.
Well, Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake did go on to join a reformed Uriah Heep and put out a pretty good album with them called Abominog. But ya, she's not a good person. Look up what she did to Kerslake right before he died from cancer....disgusting!!!!
Abominog is a great AOR record although I don't think those two gents had much to do with it creatively. They really just needed a gig after being sacked by Sharon

said "remastered" if i recall. I didn't realize they hired scabs to rerecord bass and drum parts.
True, they claimed to be “remasters” and stickered them as “bigger badder louder”. Even if the original had been used, “louder” is not what to do with remastering. But that’s what Sony does to this day.They just brickwall the sonics and kill the dynamic range of the music. Thus, nothing, including vinyl reissues, beats the sound of the original vinyl LP’s because they just don’t know how to remaster. It’s all about being “louder” at the expense of dynamics.
They actually remastered the Ozzy CDs TWICE, throughout the whole 1990s era of Compact Discs! The 1st came in the earlier 90s of course as the ORIGINAL records, just turned UP a bit , and yeah? I "thought? 🤔" they sounded GREAT and even better than the original CD recordings personally.... So I sold off ALL of my original Ozzy CDs then...And THEN, in the late,late 90s, is WHEN the whole RE-RECORDED bass/drum tracks on the 1st 3 OZZY albums were the new plug. And yeah Ralph, BARK AT THE MOON CD DID HAVE SOME LATTER ADDED ENHANCEMENTS added to the actual ORIGINAL RECORDINGS! Lol..(I didn't mind it but hey! Whatever Lol) I obviously did NOT notice anything really different from THE ULTIMATE SIN and on stuff... But yeah, Sharon REALLY took to the BAT on what WAS? ... Let's face it , one of the BEST METAL "bands", to be compiled and to lay down the foundation...( RIP LEE KERSLAKE 🥁🤘🔥🤘)

remember when the youngest member of the Jackson 5 got to be a star and in the end they kept him in a ketamine coma and only revived him for public display... Ozzy if nothing else is a testament for how amazing the human body is and can put up with through self abuse and still survive... His wife as far as I could always tell is his handler and thats really it isnt it... Everything you said is correct. I cannot listen to anything but the first two albums. I do listen to Speak of the Devil and live album with Randy. I read an article that Sharon said that no one wants to listen too a new Randy era live album and also they video recorded a Randy concert and she won't release it because it will not make money. CRAZY!!!!

My favorite album is Bark At The Moon, but I admit that Blizzard Of Ozz is the album that made Ozzy a successfully solo artist. I love Diary Of A Madman more than Blizzard, and never understood why more songs like You Can't Kill Rock N Roll, S.A.T.O., Tonight, and Little Dolls were never done live even on the Diary Of A Madman tour. Sharon definitely has issues. Yes Bark At The Moon 2002 reissue has been messed with. Rock N Roll Rebell is missing guitar solos, and You're No Different ends differently than the original version.

If it wasn't for those first two albums I don't think Ozzy would have fared ......those first two albums and those guys in the band. Randy Rhodes, Bob daisley, Lee kurslake, not to mention Ozzy are all responsible for the sound that they created. Anyway I have since then repurchased an older original version and I'm much happier now

Yeah, Blizzard and Diary are just gold. The benchmark. Incredible! Ozzy sounds great but Randy Rhodes knew music and brought elements of classical music to hard rock . In my old age I understand him wanting to leave Ozzy and move on. Growth.
Ozzy came up with amazing vocal melodies. Black Sabbath and the first 2 solo albums are the best, but if it wasn’t for other musicians, Ozzy would not be who he is. And I agree that was totally disgusting. Having a black sabbath reunion without Bill Ward. I know it happens all the times with bands that we’re talking about Bill ward he’s just as important as the other three original members
I was at an Ozzy concert in the early 90's he was terrible. He was the headliner of course. We left half way through his act. What a joke. Korn and Anthrax put his act to shame. 🖕 Sharon, Kelly, and that cornball Jack.....Ozzy I 💙 you regardless.

As a fan, I'm kind of divided, a part of me I thinks it's great there are alt versions of the albums, though it's at the expense of Bob and Lee which was just morally wrong. Had they never re-released the original recordings again then that would have been truly sacrilege... Thankfully clearer heads prevailed.
Like when George Lucas tried to add a bunch of extras to the original trilogy. The extra junk doesn't FIT. Or when Megadeth did the remaster for Rust in Peace, it doesn't sound great. Sharon just threw a fit.
I read about Ozzy’s new band in Creem and just happened to be at the record store the day it arrived and was being put on the shelf. I bought it and remember thinking how great it sound particularly the bass. It was a very distinct sound. Years later I was working at a recording studio and the owner and I went out and bought a couple cd’s to use as reference for mixing. When we put Blizzard Of Oz on I was shocked at how bad it sounded. My first thought was that I didnt know shit about what sounds good. I thought I misremembered how good it sounded. I was puzzled by this for several years after til I found out what that kqcunt did.

Forever I thought Sharon saved Ozzy's life. But did she really? Ozzy remains as drunk and fucked up for many years after Sharoon "Saved" him.
