Native Tongue is a great rock n roll album…believe it or not, hahaha. If ya can toss their s#itty glam look aside, it’s pretty decent music wise. Ritchie Kotzen adds great vocals along with tasteful guitar playing
This is Ralph's ball park. Man, THANKS Ralph - so funny! This is funnier than a whole buncha stand up nowadays. I love LPs for the wrong reasons, too . Ralph is 100 years ahead in so many ways.
C C aka Ceese” Deville really is a great guitar player. What was laid down on the first two albums was the producer holding CC back. “Flesh n Blood” CC really was able to showcase his talent. It’s not as easy as it seems 😉 to right simple songs with hooks and melodies like “Nothin but a good time” “Talk Dirty to Me” “Every Rose 🌹 has Thorn”. It’s all good my friend, you can view it as “laugh songs” but no denying at the time no one was doing music like this. Brett is a great entertainer, I did not say singer, but great performer. CC ahead a hard edge and is influenced heavily by “Cheap Trick” listen to Samantha Seven. I have played live with CC in the early 2000’s. It’s funny, he hung amour at the “Cat Club” and Slim Jim Phantom would always let his jam band play because he drew, and everyone liked him. I drank with CC at he night before he went into rehab and I got to say he never drank again.
Man, you're talking about all my favourite stuff! Poison Open Up, Look What The Cat Dragged In AND DLR Skycraper! Love it all. For me, Open Up beats Look What TCDI. I've always loved Poison! - Glen
9 year old me ate LWTCDI up like cheesecake... About 2 years later, one of my mom's friends brought over a copy of "Speak English or Die" & there was no turning back. 🤘🏻
I think those 2 Poison albums are way better than the Van Hagar albums. I especially loved the "talk dirty to me" song & whispering "talk dirty to me" lyric to that song. That's something that Sammy Hagar can never do.

I wasn’t really into this band that much but they played their songs so much on the radio you couldn’t help to listen to them , I was more into WhieSnake and harder bands than this , Ozzy Osborne AC/DC . But even in the bars you couldn’t get away from this band , the house bands would play their songs to death . And Cinderella and Bon Jovi and stuff like that. I couldn’t even get into Van Halen after Dave left. But I seen Dave in concert and it was pretty awesome , mostly because all the women half dressed. I gave a girl a tour shirt for taking her clothes off , she said she would if I gave it to her and I said you won’t do that , before I finished that sentence she already had them shorts off and the t-shirt wasn’t really hiding anything else so after I got my eyes full , I handed her the t-shirt , was it worth it ? Yeah , yeah I think it was. She was a beautiful brunette and hell I probably would have just gave the shirt to someone else anyway so why not get to look at a totally naked girl for it. Only Poison cd I bought was Open Up when it came out. Couldnt give it away. So its still somewhere in my collection.Learned my lesson and never bought anythig else from them
I Kinda liked the entire „Open up…“ album, maybe due to the fact, that I happened to grow up with a sister, who loved hair Metal. To me, it’s connected with great memories. And old music is basically always about memories, more so, than how well the musician are playing. By the way, I wanna give Poison some credit, for being the best band on the stadium tour! I wouldn’t call myself a Poison fan by any means.

Everybody made fun of C.C. back then, but the dude wrote more catchy riffs than any other hair band of the era..that's a fact. Even Billie Joe Armstrong agrees, and that guy has written a ton of riffs as well. C.C. always looked like he was having fun, because he was. These guys weren't posers in the strictest sense, because they never pretended to be a 'real' heavy metal band. It pains me to say it but as far as authenticity goes, for this lifestyle and kind of music?...you'd be hard pressed to find a band more authentic than Poison.

I thought my little sister was in Poison for years but I was wrong. They all just look like her.

Well I sure wish I had CCs talent! Killer guitarist!
You should do Poison's Native Tongue vs Kiss Hot in the Shade (15 songs on each one).
That would definitely be good!
Native Tongue is a great rock n roll album…believe it or not, hahaha. If ya can toss their s#itty glam look aside, it’s pretty decent music wise. Ritchie Kotzen adds great vocals along with tasteful guitar playing
You would be better off opening the front door and flinging any poison album at the house across the street.
Funny you should pull out Skyscraper. Poison opened for DLR on that tour!
I got to see that show. DLR was awesome with Vai shredding.

I think those 2 Poison albums are way better than the Van Hagar albums. I especially loved the "talk dirty to me" song & whispering "talk dirty to me" lyric to that song. That's something that Sammy Hagar can never do.
Kiss wrote an entire song with "Lick It Up" as a chorus. At least Poison recognized it was just a throwaway tongue in cheek line before a guitar lead.
Hell yes...Odin rules!
In high school i liked Poison as much as Destruction, Cinderella as much as Possessed. No shame.

SUCK VS. SUCK? Let's call it AWESOME VS. AWESOME!!! Just kidding. I like these albums but this was hilarious!
Poison is typical "Party Rock". Not bad musically, but "eyebrow-raising" lyrically...ok I'll admit, I dig "Nothing but a good time".
I went to Madame Wongs many times. Saw Danzig play there & oddly enough, I remember seeing CC Deville at the gig.
No one ripped on Poison better than Beavis and Butthead 😂😂😂😂😂
