@@fernandov1234 interesting, but you see I'm buying the i7 variant of this laptop with 1650 graphics at a stellar dead around $900 ... I'm not sure if the new ones will come at this price

It's hard to say as we don't know how the new ryzen CPUs run in general yet, maybe the 7nm architecture improves thermals and it's ok, need to get one to test first
Honestly hard to say looking at the panels in a suite with studio lighting for filming, will need one to test. I suspect the 144hz ones will look better than 120hz though
These laptops are cheaper, yet their performance is really good for the price. I have Asus Tuf 705du, got it a couple of months ago, with gtx1660ti, runs great so far, better than expected actually. Red Dead 2, Forza 4, GTA 5, these are the main games im playing at the moment, runs great on high-ultra settings with stable 60fps. Great machine for the price.
I love how laptop industries are going for the simple and clean look now, finally realising that most people don't want an over the top design. Probably gonna be my next laptop depending on the price (r5 4600h, gtx 1650, 60hz display cuz most game can't go over it with this gpu, 90Wh battery and silver colour) 😆

I'm planning to buy a laptop . There are 2 option available 1. Msi GF 75 9SC with i7 + 1650 17.3 120hz 2. Acer Nitro 5 2019 with i7 + 1650 15.6 144hz . My budget is around 1100 to 1150$ Should i wait for the Asus Tuf A15 or A17 ?
If you need a laptop now, buy it, although I would recommend you buy the helios 300 or the y540 instead as they have better graphics. The i7 will be bottlenecked in games and is not worth it unless you're only going to do stuff like video editing. You might want to wait if you do not have a need for a laptop right now, even if it is just to see how it compares
I'd probably pick the nitro if you need right now, hard to say if it's worth waiting as we don't know prices/real performance of the new stuff, but even if you don't get new, maybe old will have a sale.
Yah it's really driving me crazy . I want a better graphic for a better performance. It would be waste for 144hz panel stick with 1650 . I'm wondering to take a risk on Asus Tuf A15 or A17. Because whatever the laptop come with Amd chip. The GPU will have a better graphic card. But still can't decide it though . Because it will come in Q1. So i'm gonna go for an Asus Rog G751JY i7-4710hq + GTX980m or Lenovo Y50-70 then i will deal with the asus tuf 2020 in Summer maybe
Not sure on pricing yet, that wasn't announced at CES. I'll review it when it's available and ASUS send it over, I'm not exactly sure when that is yet, but they told me they'll send me the new stuff ASAP once they can.
Not sure yet, other than when they are available. They told me they'll send them over ASAP though, so for now just have to wait and see. It's hard to say, AMD claim the 4800H beats the 9750H in gaming but they only showed a synthetic benchmark rather than actual games, and the fact many companies haven't refreshed to Ryzen 4000 tells me the performance may not quite be there yet, but yeah that's a best guess, have to wait and see.

When I bought a new phone with doubled battery capacity it was like a leap towards an entire new world. If there will be something like FX505DD (it costs 650$ here) and if I'll finally decide to buy a new laptop (desktop user there) to upgrade from a 2013 entry level device... No words will be able to describe the feeling of something that does not make you wait 5 hours to turn off, has mostly malfunctioning battery, can't run a simple game and turns itself off due to overheating. Now all I hope for is that they release something that costs less than 700$.
The best laptops from CES 2020! Huge batteries, reasonably thin and durable, num pads included, frugal APUs with non-crap CPU and iGPU to the point where they can exploit Freesync. Hopefully they've improved the display quality too.
@@yogensachdev for the money, the current FX505 display is OK (60% sRGB coverage) but it would be nice if the new laptops have improved colour accuracy, wider colour gamut and higher contrast while maintaining a low price.

Does having freesync eliminate the performances loss caused by the integrated gpu like gsync? If there are identical cpus and gpus would a freesync laptop outperform an optimus one?
Nah, it would probably still perform better without the integrated graphics, granted not sure how it would compare to Intels one. It's the APU on the CPU that handles the FreeSync component.
I'm not a gamer but the A17 is still something I'll keep an eye on. If it can run Kali Linux without compatibility it will make a lovely budget pentesting machine.

Hey guys In a Huge confusion right now. I'm confused between Helios 300 and nitro 7 right now ( I'm getting nitro for around 150$ less). What should i do? Which one should I get? Or should i wait for sometime for new laptops to arrive.
I haven't tested the nitro, but if it's same specs and you're willing to overclock and undervolt yourself it will probably perform similarly. Otherwise the Helios will perform better out of the box, granted probably not $150 better, but also has better build quality
At least ASUS seems to really be pushing the envelope in gaming laptops. Very impressed by their CES lineup. A15 will potentially give Helios 300 a run for its money while the G14 looks to outdo Razer at much more affordable price points. Overall, seems like a really weird CES to me, so many other manufacturers are just twiddling their thumbs (in the gaming laptop space anyways: LENOVO, et al.) while MSI and ASUS really showing off some cool things. Wish more would bet harder on new AMD architecture as it really does seem promising.
Yeah I know right, I guess they are waiting for new Intel/Nvidia stuff which is apparently just a few months away, so might be an awkward position to refresh now and have current gen CPU with last gen GPU.

YOU NEED TO TRY THIS, and Please try the Thermals, the thermals, if these Laptops have a good price, this is the way to go, those new AMD 4000 looks amazing, TRY IT please!!! And when are they going to be available?
Not sure when available yet, yes I will review one and test thermals in depth like usual once available 👍
That would be good! I guess we'll see when prices are available.
Is this AMD version better than Intel?
They claim it is, but won't know til we get it to test
The best laptops from CES 2020! Huge batteries, reasonably thin and durable, num pads included, frugal APUs with non-crap CPU and iGPU to the point where they can exploit Freesync. Hopefully they've improved the display quality too.
Was there something wrong with the displays of the previous model? Asking because I'm about to buy the FX505GT soon
@@yogensachdev for the money, the current FX505 display is OK (60% sRGB coverage) but it would be nice if the new laptops have improved colour accuracy, wider colour gamut and higher contrast while maintaining a low price.
🤩
Can you give me an assumption what the price will be hold for A17?
I really have no idea
I hope that all usb port are 3.0.
Both have a 2.0 port on the right.
Any news about the 2020 helios 300 ??
The only news was that they aren't refreshing it yet, which makes sense, no new Intel/Nvidia parts yet and they aren't going to AMD.
Me watching new tech vids: Look at all the new tech I can't buy.
Me making new tech vids: look at all the tech I don't want to buy
There are minor different for can't and wan't LoL basically me too
Helios 300 17" are selling for $1100-1200 now with 1660ti.. hopefully this 4600H+1660ti priced aggressively.. eyeing for 6c12t laptops otg..nvidia hv nvenc and that's a good choice imho
Hope so!
How much $
Not sure yet, they didn't say.
Will be gpu super like 1660 or 1650 super an the future for 2020?
Probably not. Even if they are it will be on Q3
Yes.
Appreciate ur all nice reviews.
I want to play high graphic games on my 49" 4K TV which laptop will be suitable ?
Zephyrus G14 or Asus TUF A15 ?
Plz help
A15, 2060 non-MQ is faster than MQ
17.3" dont have Rtx 2060 really ?
Yep
Bonfire black is amazing 😍
🤩
Does having freesync eliminate the performances loss caused by the integrated gpu like gsync? If there are identical cpus and gpus would a freesync laptop outperform an optimus one?
Nah, it would probably still perform better without the integrated graphics, granted not sure how it would compare to Intels one. It's the APU on the CPU that handles the FreeSync component.
@@JarrodsTech thanks jarrod, for both your reply and all the hard work you have done throughout the ces!
Hope they improved the mouse pad and the keyboard on the new tuf series thats the only downside to these good laptops
Hmm they looked similar to last gen but I guess hard to compare without having the old one side by side.
They are out!
We want a review!
I'm not a gamer but the A17 is still something I'll keep an eye on. If it can run Kali Linux without compatibility it will make a lovely budget pentesting machine.
Fair enough! I was using a 6700HQ machine for 4 years when I left my pen testing job earlier in the year to work on the channel :) didn't need all that much CPU power even for 3 beefy VMs.
I am also getting a new laptop but I am also confused as which one should I pick Acer nitro 5 Acer pradetor hellios 300 with i5 and gtx 1660 ti or Asus A15 with ryzen 7 with rtx 2060 can any one pzz help me
Do you have any info on their respective weight, or their brick's weights? That can really put a lot into perspective
I don't sorry, those specs weren't provided at the time. I should bring scales to the event 😅
@@JarrodsTech brilliant idea. Become the change you wanna see Jarrod. Soon we shall see the likes of Linus, Austin and more lug their kitchen scales to a CES😂
What about acer ? Is there any?
My Acer video is now up, but the answer is no
I can't wait for the test 😁
Me too!
Where is the loudspeakers tho?
Underneath, I think I call them out in the video
@@JarrodsTech okii
The clean design and that TUF logo!!! My TUF FX505 Laptop is envy with that! 😂
😁
Guys which is better? i7950 or amd 4600h or 4800h
Ryzen 4000 performance isn't known yet, so no one can really say.
Jarrod'sTech oh, thanks. Hoping you get to review it soon.
So much cleaner than the current tuf seriss
👍👍
Hey guys
In a Huge confusion right now.
Once these come out i would like a comparison between the Asus TUF A15 and the Dell G5 SE with Ryzen.
I'll do it if I am able to get both!
And what about ROG STRIX G series
Wasn't featured at CES.
Jarrod I'm getting mad anxiety waiting for review video on this I hear it's available now is Australia and usa I'm hoping you'll be uploading one soon 😁😁looks like an amazing investment at 999
