- The entrance to the harbour Nieuwpoort with its two piers is a distinctive landmark for sailors. It is also the perfect spot after a storm to pick up some good waves. Because of its two breakwaters at both sides of the pier, waves are often a bit steeper and higher than normal. The Pier series is about surfing the cleanest waves (along the Belgian Coast), so we're always waiting for the best swell for this. Enjoy the ride!

I have to eat some humble pie. I said I’d never spend the money on a P&H Kevlar kayak, but, after looking, buying and trying so many over the last decade I finally was able to put hands on a P&H Volan 160. Just couldn’t say no. It’s mine. Paddled it once so far. Man oh man. What a difference ! I hope that someone can learn from me. If you love yaking just refinance something if you have too to get a P&H Kevlar yak. It’s not just beautiful but built like a Ferrari and handles like one. I FINALLY found the ONE yak that truly can do it all. I fish, camp and tour. The Volan 160 covers all my needs. Sweet sweet yak !

It's just my opinion but I like hearing the natural sounds too ( water, birds, wind ) under the music. And I would have to imagine there were some Bloopers, if so it would be cool to show some at the end. Great video and I wish I had 10% of that talent.
Thank you for the nice compliment and feedback! We have to decide, and music and back ground sounds making it a bit to much. We also don't have professional camera and sound equipment, which makes it harder to have a perfect sound. This is why we mostly opt to use music only. But we get your point of course. Cheers!😊👍

Thank you! It isn't easy indeed, have to do the same rudder but at the bow instead of stern. Lot of thinking in the beginning. But it is fun. Just make sure that there is nobody behind you. 😊🌊💪

Hi Jurgen, We do coach paddlers (actually busy with a 3 day intermediate to advanced right now) over here. We are no club however. Once a year, we organise a Sea Kayak Training Camp in Croatia, where you can learn a lot of skills. Check the Spirit of Korkyra website for more information. You know, I want a Volan so bad I can taste it. However it’s twice the price of the Current Designs Sisu. Done even looking at your kayaks and video’s.
Hi! I know the feeling, believe me. So I understand what you are thinking. Have a look at our oldest videos (and try not to laugh), we started with a plastic sit on top DAG Midway which we paddled for about 5 years. Glad we could upgrade bit by bit, not only the boat but also the equipment. Take your time, enjoy sea kayaking and prioritise. There is a difference between British sea kayaks like P&H and others. They don't come cheap, and for good reason. We had the same feeling, and bought a polyethylene Scorpio and Delphin. Those are even better than some composites from certain brands. Hope this helps?

Glad i stumbled across this. How have I never heard of surfers ear before. Sounds awful! Especially as you don't notice before it's too late. Going to have to look into getting me some of these.

Thank you Tony! Yes, as long as you are trained for this and have the appropriate safety equipment and clothing. This boat has separate bulkheads, right? Make sure you know how to self-rescue. Have fun and be safe!

@@Northseakayak Nou ik kan me goed voorstellen hoeveel uren zweet, pijn en afzien er aan vooraf zijn gegaan. En alle veiligheidsaspecten om zo iets te ondernemen want de Noordzee kan verraderlijk zijn, veiligheid boven alles. Daarom petje af, het lijkt allemaal zo makkelijk. Die draai in de golf dat je kajak recht om hoog staat is gaaf om te zien.
Vele jaren terug werd ik aangestoken door het kajak virus en leek het me ook fantastisch om de zee op te gaan (jullie schuld door die fantastische video's) maar ik heb een handicap dat mijn evenwichtsorgaan defect is. Dus dat wordt het dan niet als je bij iedere golf (bijna) om ligt. Zeker met een smalle zeekajak is het voor mij gekken werk. Dus dan maar recreatief peddelen met een stabielere kajak op het Veerse meer en de Biesbosch in Nederland.
@@mpspuij zo jammer te horen ivm je evenwicht. Maar wel blij dat je toch het water op kan. Absoluut niks mis met een iets bredere kajak, wij zijn ook ooit zo begonnen. Veel plezier en dankjewel voor je reactie!🤗😊

With an adhesive surfmount, and a cheap pole we found on EBay. No brand, so it's not a genuine GoPro.

Cheers Steve!! The Cetus is a little less than 5m50 in lenght, but rather agile due to the rocker. Looking forward to field test the more shorter Volan in the future and see how it behaves in comparison to my Cetus.😁👍🌊
Love your videos, but wondering if they might be even better with less or no music. The natural sounds are so much better, though I understand for technical reason noise can be an issue. Either way, thank you and keep them coming!
