To be fair tKaiba wasn’t present for Atem and Yugi’s duel in the manga so he never got to say goodbye or resolve his rivalry with Atem. Dark side of Dimensions is a continuation from the manga’s ending, not the anime’s ending. The anime gave endings to Kaiba & Mai because they didn’t get in the Manga.

There are slight differences between the manga’s version and anime’s version of Atem entering the Spirit World but the Flashback was more Manga. That being said Takahashi did incorporate elements of the anime into Dark Side of Dimensions. The Blue Eyes White Dragon jet Kaiba used was an anime exclusive thing until Takahashi used it in this movie

Well, in all honesty, I cannot say. I have only watched GX after that (about 1/3 of the whole season). It concentrated more on the duels and I find that the story was more of a pretexte than anything else. The characters were also far inferior in terms of personality, motivations, etc. After that, I must confess that I completely dropped the series. Consequently, what I am saying it terribly biased, I readily admit it. Although some ideas (fighting on vehicles), looks.... weird. But if you tell me I should give it a go, I might. As long as the story and characters are more interesting than in GX, I should like it I guess.
GX is a masterpiece in the last two seasons, and I really recommend watching them. The final season wasn't dubbed because it was too dark, but it's a great show. The characters mature toward the end.

I watched half of GX, but it wasn't the same without Atem/Yugi and it honestly got really annoying, so I stopped watching. Haven't watched another season since, and while I'm rewatching the original Yugioh right now I have no interest in watching any of the others.

As a kid, this was shocking to watch. As an adult, this is painful. And not in the bad way. Also, for all the flack Téa gets, I can see why she says that. Atem finally got his memories and his true name back and unfortunately has to move on the afterlife. She and the rest of the group don't want to see him go, and not just due to her having a crush on him, but because they want him to be able to enjoy a life that was taken from him too soon.
Kazuki certainly made something special. Though he maybe gone, like Atem, he’s left a mark on all of us, and we’ll never forget him and what he did for us. RIP to a GOAT

Atem talks about the kindness Yugi gave him even though he had friends and was a righteous Pharaoh...and the courage he gave Yugi even though Yugi has never backed down from a challenge or bully, ranging from Ushio (before he even solved the Puzzle), Kaiba (he didn't know he'd transform to duel him), a stranger who stole the puzzle (he was separated from Atem), Marik through Joey, and more.
I rewatched this whole duel and I almost cried when he started walking away. This was especially significant because I only very rarely get emotional enough to cry towards fictional media like movies/shows and books

Atem talks about the kindness Yugi gave him even though he had friends and was a righteous Pharaoh...and the courage he gave Yugi even though Yugi has never backed down from a challenge or bully, ranging from Ushio (before he even solved the Puzzle), Kaiba (he didn't know he'd transform to duel him), a stranger who stole the puzzle (he was separated from Atem), Marik through Joey, and more.
