Super man didn't listen and now Booster Gold is gone. Keep in mind I can't remember where I saw this so something may have changed since rebirth
absolutely Wally is my all time favorite Flash. Maybe if they had killed off Wally in some dramatic fashion so his memory could function as an inspiration to the superhero community I would have been fine with his loss (like it eventually was for Barry fans after Crisis on Infinite Earths) but this whole retconning Wally altogether was BS. Classic Wally is much much faster than Barry. After Barry "died" in the comics and Wally took over the Flash mantle, he could never match Barry's old speed. Everyone thought that it was because Barry was just the fastest Flash. But the truth was that Wally was unknowingly supressing his powers,placing mental blocks on himself,so that he would never overtake his idol and overshadow the legend that was Barry Allen. Once Wally overcame these mental blocks,he became quite a bit faster than Barry and was implied that he hadn't even realized his full potential. He even outran death,which is a feat unknown even amongst speedsters.
Why didn't they introduce this version (the red head) of Wally in the show instead of the New 52 one that we ended up with? The black version is just a cocky brat and is everyone wanted the original.

I was so hyped when I found out rebirth is bringing back ginger Wally. I got even more hyped when it was the same Wally from pre flashpoint. It was so cool seeing Wally and Clark reunite and catch up with things since they were both from the past time line
According to Wikipedia, Wally is the speedster equivalent of a White Lantern. His white lightning (I konw it's light blue most of the time) represents the combined power/colors of all types of Speed Force lightning. Is there any truth to that? I know that Wally is more powerful than ever before, but I don't think it was mentioned once since his return.
Looking at this, I'd say the battle for new vs old is set. If you don't know, there is a debated battle between the new and the old. Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash(Barry) and Arsenal vs Nightwing, Troia, Tempest, Flash(Wally), and Green Arrow.
Titans are better than their mentors IMO. Wally beats Barry cause he is pure kinetic energy, Dick beats Bruce as an acrobat and tactician, Garth as Idyllist Atlantean who wields water magic trashes Arthur and Roy is an omega level genius who Oliver used to have around as sidekick to appropriate his inventions and label them his own. Donna doesn't seem more powerful than Diana but maybe she is. Omen has no counterpart yet she is fearsome.

Well in the comic that Barry came back to life he was shorter and less muscular than Wally so it kinda fits. Especially since during Wally's run of the comics they made superheroes more muscular than they used to.
Beware! Comment for strong stomachs. New 52 has ruined the previous legacy of DC with dumb and pretentious concepts which caused the brand name reputation to cave in and its sales to sink. I'll give you a lesson about legacy and micromanaging then. Everyone should know that history cannot be overwritten either in factual life or fiction, not even with a million convergences or crises because scripta manent verba volant. So when a long time fan sees a Kanye West instead of a Wally West and the child who watches Young Justice and then reads New 52 Flash is left wondering WTF is happening? Are those people bipolar psychos? Or even worse take pre flashpoint issues of Superboy - Kon El and compare and contrast them with today, then they will scream out how they are fed with garbage. And the list never ends. Whether old or new dc reader the continuity applies to both as a hero is born from the inception moment and through the progress of time. It isn't something static because it is a thought given shape and character. If the essence or appearance of the character is changed then the hero stops to exist and an impostor takes his place. They should have hired capable talents to flesh out the essence of their heroes in contemporary ways but respecting what came before and that legacy they strive for, now that fans turned their backs on the joke new52 was. I wish to know how Broome and Infantino would have reacted to Kanye West replacing their Wally in new52! Now they have made the prime earth more complicated with so many Wallys, Supermen, Superwomen etc who aren't necessary in the first place. DC will never come to terms with original Wally West surpassing his mentor, being a better hero in Barry's stead, becoming an even greater husband and father and all the impact that had to the readers. DC claims rebirth is all about legacy so where has Wally's legacy vanished to since 2011? Kanye West is a lazy attempt to destroy both legacy and racial respect. Because race cannot be retconned, switched or changed on a whim, it is given from nature and is everlasting. A violation of such natural principle in fictional media is sacrilegious and twisted. I use the nickname Kanye to show he is an impostor until they come up with an original name for the ''new'' cousin, names like Kendrick, Xavier, Tyrone, Will, Andre, Darius, Ben. He started as the replacement of Wally and still looks the same to me even after the major correction made in Rebirth. I've talked with many Black people and all of them were disgusted to the idea of DC giving them an established former caucasian hero now blackwashed and proudly served to them as human rights progress. If they cared about real diversity they would create a new character from scratch and avoid depicting that new black character's intro as a thug who sprays graffiti on public walls, gets arrested by policemen and behaves uncivilised. What hypocrisy on their behalf.
100% true, Wally is the most iconic Flash and DC can't hide it. Personally, I hate everything about Kanye 52 West and DC is to blame. The thug stereotyping intro is horrible and it won't go away although Kanye is reformed now and goes to school. I wish Lobdell's Teen Titans to be wiped off of popular memory because it was a nightmare, it destroyed Bart, Kon and Solstice.
Lobdell is a hack writer he shouldn't be hired anywhere because everything he puts his hands on turns into crap. Harvest is the worst villain in comics and by that I mean useless. Johns himself has stated in an interview that when he became aware of what writers have done to Wally and Kon he was furious and when he looked at them both didn't resemble their former selves. So I wouldn't jump the gun that Johns hates Wally, but then again he was the one who resurrected Barry to replace Wally as Flash and then created the goddamned Flashpoint which led to the New 52 fail. Barry definitely has the potential to be faster but just hasn't reached it. But the fastest speedster ever was Barry Allen, when he fused with the black racer becoming the God of death.

I was so hyped when I found out rebirth is bringing back ginger Wally. I got even more hyped when it was the same Wally from pre flashpoint. It was so cool seeing Wally and Clark reunite and catch up with things since they were both from the past time line

According to Wikipedia, Wally is the speedster equivalent of a White Lantern. His white lightning (I konw it's light blue most of the time) represents the combined power/colors of all types of Speed Force lightning. Is there any truth to that? I know that Wally is more powerful than ever before, but I don't think it was mentioned once since his return.

Looking at this, I'd say the battle for new vs old is set.
If you don't know, there is a debated battle between the new and the old. Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash(Barry) and Arsenal vs Nightwing, Troia, Tempest, Flash(Wally), and Green Arrow.
Titans are better than their mentors IMO. Wally beats Barry cause he is pure kinetic energy, Dick beats Bruce as an acrobat and tactician, Garth as Idyllist Atlantean who wields water magic trashes Arthur and Roy is an omega level genius who Oliver used to have around as sidekick to appropriate his inventions and label them his own. Donna doesn't seem more powerful than Diana but maybe she is. Omen has no counterpart yet she is fearsome.

Well in the comic that Barry came back to life he was shorter and less muscular than Wally so it kinda fits. Especially since during Wally's run of the comics they made superheroes more muscular than they used to.

I'll give you a lesson about legacy and micromanaging then. Everyone should know that history cannot be overwritten either in factual life or fiction, not even with a million convergences or crises because scripta manent verba volant. So when a long time fan sees a Kanye West instead of a Wally West and the child who watches Young Justice and then reads New 52 Flash is left wondering WTF is happening? Are those people bipolar psychos? Or even worse take pre flashpoint issues of Superboy - Kon El and compare and contrast them with today, then they will scream out how they are fed with garbage. And the list never ends. Whether old or new dc reader the continuity applies to both as a hero is born from the inception moment and through the progress of time. It isn't something static because it is a thought given shape and character. If the essence or appearance of the character is changed then the hero stops to exist and an impostor takes his place. They should have hired capable talents to flesh out the essence of their heroes in contemporary ways but respecting what came before and that legacy they strive for, now that fans turned their backs on the joke new52 was. I wish to know how Broome and Infantino would have reacted to Kanye West replacing their Wally in new52! Now they have made the prime earth more complicated with so many Wallys, Supermen, Superwomen etc who aren't necessary in the first place.
DC will never come to terms with original Wally West surpassing his mentor, being a better hero in Barry's stead, becoming an even greater husband and father and all the impact that had to the readers.
DC claims rebirth is all about legacy so where has Wally's legacy vanished to since 2011? Kanye West is a lazy attempt to destroy both legacy and racial respect. Because race cannot be retconned, switched or changed on a whim, it is given from nature and is everlasting. A violation of such natural principle in fictional media is sacrilegious and twisted. I use the nickname Kanye to show he is an impostor until they come up with an original name for the ''new'' cousin, names like Kendrick, Xavier, Tyrone, Will, Andre, Darius, Ben. He started as the replacement of Wally and still looks the same to me even after the major correction made in Rebirth.
I've talked with many Black people and all of them were disgusted to the idea of DC giving them an established former caucasian hero now blackwashed and proudly served to them as human rights progress. If they cared about real diversity they would create a new character from scratch and avoid depicting that new black character's intro as a thug who sprays graffiti on public walls, gets arrested by policemen and behaves uncivilised. 100% true, Wally is the most iconic Flash and DC can't hide it. Personally, I hate everything about Kanye 52 West and DC is to blame. Didio and Johns, if we decode their choices, state that blacks deserve to be the eternal sidekicks to white heroes like Barry or Batman. I wish Lobdell's Teen Titans to be wiped off of popular memory because it was a nightmare, it destroyed Bart, Kon and Solstice.
Lobdell is a hack writer he shouldn't be hired anywhere because everything he puts his hands on turns into crap. Harvest is the worst villain in comics and by that I mean useless. Barry definitely has the potential to be faster but just hasn't reached it. But the fastest speedster ever was Barry Allen, when he fused with the black racer becoming the God of death.
