    I gotta say, and i find that people seem to forget or really just dont think about it. But anyone can get the tabs and learn Mr. Murray's licks, riffs, and solo's. But it's he who came up with all the wonderful notes and made these masterpieces. What im saying is that weekend guitar players only dream about making their own music and having millions of people wanting to learn how to play them. These professional guitar players are geniuses at what they do. We can only imitate

    Holy crap, you nailed both the tone and the style of Dave Murray! Bravo!!
    Love your videos - and, especially your TONE! :)

  • @booshting3520
    @booshting3520 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Just bought the Dave Murray signature strat. The pickups are beastly. I'd love a good replica of his 57 like yours, its iconic

    • @mathias6423
      @mathias6423 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never had a guitar with a pickup that hot like the Duncan hot rails in the neck position. I guess Murray like it that way since he is spending most time playing solos on the neck and wants a hot lead tone in the neck. How do you like the guitar ?

    • @booshting3520
      @booshting3520 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @mathias6423 I love it. It arrived with no setup and really bad fret sprout though. I have a good tech who sorted it all out and it's honestly one of the nicest playing guitars I have now.

    • @mathias6423
      @mathias6423 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@booshting3520 Wow it is not often I hear of people getting a badly setup guitar with REALLY bad fret sprouting at a price tag around 1500€
      I mean of course it happens, nothing is to be taken for granted when ordering guitars, especially imports.
      I am just saying that It is not often that I hear about stuff being that bad on such expensive guitars.
      Is the neck pickup really loud/aggressive for being a neck pickup ?
      Often people choose to put less aggressive pickups in the neck compared to the bridge but in Dave's case he has the same in the neck as in the bridge :)

    • @booshting3520
      @booshting3520 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @mathias6423 I've also got the USA Adrian Smith dignature model. That one needed fret leveling stunning guitar though😆
      Yeah the neck pickup is the perfect counterpart to the bridge pickup. Both pretty hot, but it's Daves main lead tone. If you want a more versatile superstrat, then the USA Adrian Smith is the better option. A Dimarzio super distortion in the bridge position and 2 Fender SCN Noisless pickups in the middle and neck position. Makes for more tonal options than the Dave Murray sig.

    • @mathias6423
      @mathias6423 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@booshting3520 Haha wow funny you should mention the Adrian signature all of a sudden. I actually got the Jackson SDXM 1 week ago as an early birthday present Hahaha 🤣 (The white one with black pickguard, love the way it looks, like a fender but for metal).
      What a coincidence you should mention "that" guitar 😅
      I have not played guitar that much even though I have played for 20 years I have not been active playing at all so I am far from great.
      That is why I went with the imported SDXM verison instead of the USA version.
      Also I like to buy several "cheaper" guitars and upgrading them rather than buying 1 expensive guitar, I have always preferred it like that and I have 14 guitars so far that I have collected over the years, the most expensive one costing 1100€ and the cheapest one 300€
      2 days ago I went to our local guitar tech in Stockholm and got the 3 jackson pickups changed for a Dimarzio super distortion in the bridge and two Fender Noiseless gen 4 "single coils" since the SCN pickups are not available to buy separately in Sweden.
      Even outside of Sweden they are harder to come buy today except if you get them already in a guitar like your USA Jackson.
      I am later going to change the Floyd Rose special in my Adrian Jackson to a Schaller Lockmeister which I have used before and think is good for the money.
      Anyways I have been looking for my next guitar, I am thinking about either the Ibanez JEM JR in yellow or the PRS SE Standard in vintage red. Either guitar I go for I am putting the Dimarzio Super distortion in the bridge as I most often do and then the Dimarzio PAF PRO in the neck.
      Sorry the comment got so long but I got excited when you recommended the guitar I so recently got in birthday present even though It was the imported version

    I have an E10 Korean Squier from 87/88 and the maple one piece neck is awesome too but the body is solid. It's based on a 50s Strat, with 6 hole single ply pickguard but the 9.5 radius neck is modern and thin. It also has Gotoh heads, large block trem and Fender stamped saddles. I put Alnico pickups in it and got the frets dressed. It's Torino red and I heard Clapton got Fender to do a Custom Shop Strat in that colour as he wanted it to match his Ferrari! Your axe sounds amazing and the Maiden chops are superb! I see guys boast about £3500 Custom Shop guitars but your axe sounds incredible. Dave Murray played Japan made Squiers in the early 80s for a while!

    Step One: Get a Fender HSH Strat.
    Step Two: Yank out the stock humbuggerers and replace with Dimarzio Super Distortion (bridge) & PAF (neck).
    Step Three: Plug into a cranked Marshall DSL.
    Step Four: Smile broadly.
    I have a 2016 MiM HSH Standard Strat, ghost silver w/rosewood board, and swapped out the totally unimpressive HB's for the Dimarzio "Rhoads set".
    That thing should be registered as a deadly weapon.
    KILLER GEETAR.

    Dave !!! How long have you been playing now? I know you have been studying John for over 14 years I saw on your other vids! I watch your videos every day , it seems I am in to all the same music as you! John Frusciante is one of my biggest heros as well, I also love iron maiden , red hot chili peppers , Jake E Lee , Randy Rhoads, kurt Cobain , David gilmour and many similar bands. You play so well I aspire to be able to pick up a guitar and know the fret board as well as you an be able to learn songs by ear and make more of my own stuff . I pretty much just jam Early Frusciante every day at the moment . I have a Mexi 2014 strat and a couple of amps, namely Marshall DSL5C and a fender frontman 212 . The pedals I have are DS2 and a ED1 compressor but I'm looking to expand my board. Which pedals would you recommend for that early Frusciante chorus sound. (Sadly I can't afford a CE 1 at the minute so what is your opinion on the closest thing? Thanks for all your videos Dave keep on going we all love them

    • @thedavesimpson
      @thedavesimpson  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been playing 15 years in may. I started studying John pretty much on day one. The closest chorus pedal i would say is the Boss Chorus Ensemble. Awesome pedal and sounds juts like John. Thank you for watching. :)
