The prefix ‘trans’ demonstrates a fundamental flaw in your thinking.
A Women is a Women and Man is a Man
You’re not born into the wrong body.
You’ve been brainwashed to believe a lie and a fantasy.
You need compassion, care, support and counselling.
It is not healthy to pretend and live in fantasy.

This was very basic and I wish it gave more information for people who want to learn about transgender persons. My main question is in reference to the pronouns they/them. How does one use those pronouns when speaking to someone? Like how do I have a conversation with a person who identifies as they/them? What are some examples of how a conversation would unfold if I’m speaking one-on-one with a person who identifies with these pronouns, or even if I’m referencing that person? Because these pronouns refer to multiple people. Thanks in advance.

    • @sm3560
      @sm3560 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

They/them is also used to reference a singular person in multiple contexts! For example, if a mail person delivered the mail but you didn’t know their gender, you likely already say things like “oh they delivered the mail”. So grammatically, singular they/them is correct and has been used for many years. The singular “they” is in official dictionaries.
As for speaking about someone who uses they/them pronouns, you would use “they” to replace he or she; for example, instead of “she plays piano” you would say “they play piano”. You would use “them” instead of him or her, for example “I played a game with them”. You would use “their” instead of “his” or “hers”, like “I went to their house” or “this house is theirs”
When you are talking directly to the person, try to avoid using gendered language like “sir” or “ma’am”. Use the person’s chosen name to address them. You generally wouldn’t use their pronouns when talking directly to the person, because you usually use pronouns in the third person.
There are other videos in this series if you want to learn more!

I had someone tell me her pronouns like it was law.
I said her name and bid her a good day.
If your name is Tom or David, Sally or Lisa, that's what I call you.
I don't use idiotic pronouns to address these people.

I'm so glad I live in Australia. We don't have this here. We do of course, but I just don't see it here n so yea. Thank god for that. It jus looks so wrong. A man in a womans dress but they got full broad shoulders, muscles, long hair, a beard and an adams apple. Lol

Lmao buddy, I would say I hate to break this to but that’d be a lie. Trans people are everywhere, and the only reason you don’t see them is because of the toxic and uninviting environment people like you breed.
Just because the trans experience isn’t something you personally have to go through does not mean it doesn’t exist. And whether you like it or not trans people are fighting like hell for their rights to exist, even in Australia.
I hope that if someone you care deeply about ever comes out as trans, you’ll learn to accept them as they are. Like that child in your profile picture, assuming that’s yours or the child of someone you care about. Otherwise, you may just have to say goodbye to a wonderful relationship.
