@@arloellis1161 Hi, thank you for your comment! I think a big thing is education. Start with your own allyship. Educate yourself on what it means to be transgender. I think a lot of the hate comes from the fact that people don't know what it is, and they're scared of it. Once someone understands that it's a very natural and common thing, that won't put any of their own identity in jeopardy, I think it can be easier to unlearn transphobia. I think a good place to begin would be talking about gender stereotypes, and then moving into the ideas of what it means to be a boy, girl, person - how these things are socially constructed. The more we allow people to be themselves, the more we can be ourself too.
Thanks Cal! I'll do my best. Things are a bit challenging, as they've recently been taking in some extreme right-wing media, they live far away from me, and just got married (and are thinking about having a kid). This scares me. Apart from the transphobia, I think they would be excellent parents, but I don't want them to be throwing those beliefs at a child. Also, what if that kid is trans?! Anyways, it's too much to get into on the comment section, but I appreciate the feedback. p.s. You seem really cool.@@CalCampos
Thank you for being so honest & genuine ! It’s so difficult to have a family that does not understand, but I’ve come to terms with it too. You’re not alone! We live for our own happiness!
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment this Jasmine!! You're totally right - it's seriously hard to be in that position. I recently moved out and it's been really great for my mental health. Cheers to chosen family and being worthy of love all the same!
It took me so long to realise that my parents and extended relatives will never understand or be okay with who I am, and that once I come out that that "support" system is gone for good and a little bit longer to be okay with it, but now that I've come to terms with it, the future is a little bit brighter and lot more exciting c: also i peep that Switch in the background, v nice
I'm so proud of you!! It's a long journey to go on. When I realized that I underwent a lot of emotional turmoil as a kid because of my biological family, it ruined me. I'm healing from my resentment but it's definitely a long journey with understanding all of it. I'm so happy that you're on a better path. (: That was WILD, I can't believe you saw that hahahah. Good eye! Thank you! If you play, add me!
@@CalCampos It's really rough realising that the people that are supposed to love you wouldn't actually love you for being who you are, and not who they want or expect you to be. lol that neon blue joycon immediately spoke to me and okayyy, my friend code is 6333 9934 1021
@@mizukage876 This is very true. I will forever be thankful for the chosen families who have allowed me to be the person I am today though. I have been blessed to meet such incredible people throughout my years who have really made some of this easier. And awesome! I'll add you when I get the chance to! (:
i did come out to my parents and sister but i practically got forced into the closet again. My parents straight up rejected me and threatened to cut off contact to my friends and take away my belongings. And the worst about this is that my sister first supported me and was really understanding but when she saw how my parents reacted she turned against me and now every little evidence she finds of me being "still" trans , she tells my mom.Im literally screwed right now, because my sister found a trans sticker in my phone case and i cant do anything to prevent her from telling on me. and i dont know if she will tell on me sooner or later. She sees hiw much i suffeer everytime she tells something and still continues to do it.I dont understand why she does this it hurts so much.i feel like im trapped in a cage.
Thank you for sharing your experience, I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this. Unfortunately coming out has a lot of its own complications, despite it being something that can be relieving in a lot of ways. What kind of support do you have? Are you in online communities?
My dad has told me to wait till I'm 20 and that since I have women body parts I must be a women. Not true at all. It isn't that bad though since he still is nice to me and plays video games with me, but it still hurt
What are you talking about? he logically said to wait till you are 20. Don't you even understand that you have to let your biological body grow into adulthood safely before you artificially eviscerate it with unnatural compounds? So how exactly did he hurt you when you are supposed to let your natural body go through its natural hormone stage first? If you try to transition too early you won't build up the immunities you can only get between the growth of 17-23. Alot of things go wrong if you transition or get on puberty blockers too early. For example, nobody in the woke community tells me that artificial estrogen can cause cancer to the male body, or that women transition to men gay early onset baldness even before the ages of 25 and rotting gums is a side affect too. It just sounds like you haven't thought this through or did any real research cause you wanna be brave and stunning and amass attention, sympathy and allies so bad and you don't even know who had your best interest.
Ugh. The bit about it being your life hit me - I'm gay & 18 n i need to start living for myself tbh. I just found out today I got into the university wanted and am ready to start my life ahaha. Good vid! X
Congratulations on getting into the university you wanted to get into! That's awesome!! If you have any other requests for videos let me know. I totally get the whole living for yourself thing (as I said). I'll talk about homophobia and backlash in a video soon. You're not alone in this, Anna! Keep working on yourself, it'll come. (:
For me telling my family I want to transgender to a boy is gonna wait till I'm 19 or I have a stable relationship, I dunno how they are gonna react I'm sure my elder brother will support me through it, Yet my parents are well another story (I'm 16 rn)
My family has been very interested in rapid onset gender dysphoria, I mistakenly came out to them after high school and they attempted conversion therapy although I was an adult and the preacher supported me.😅

I'm not trans, but I believe I'm an ally. I just found out my sibling (who is younger than me) is transphobic. Any ideas of how to talk to them?
