let me just say that in the throws of a suicidal breakup where it seems nearly impossible to find peace of mind and youre agonizing over every seemingly insignificant detail of the past relationship, this is the perfect record. it really helped me put things in perspective and pulled me out of that black hole we've all known... heartbreak.
Sea Change the world got to hear the true Beck at his depths and the result's a timeless album everybody can relate to. And going on these few years it's clear, it holds up. It's not just one of the best hip rock albums of the 2000s, it's also the best country album of the 2000s.
If I had to choose a couple of albums to take to a desert island Sea Change would definitely be the first of them. I think it's the best album of the last 30 years. I'd find it hard to live without.
@@olilynch7682 Ha. Yes, I think so. It's a gem. My desert island disks would be a strange brew though... Northstar Grassman and the Ravens by Sandy Denny, Focus III, anything by Django Reinhardt, a Zappa album, some CW Stoneking, some Scarlatti, Junk by Hailey Tuck... some Elizabethan consort music (Byrd or Dowland)... wouldn't matter though, as no one else there to moan about how 'me' my choices are.
@@julianevans9853 Woah thanks a lot for replying, i find I cool how this album has stayed with you throughout all these years. And I’ve never heard of any of those albums so I’ll be sure to check them out, have a good life mate 🙏
@@julianevans9853 I honestly have no clue which albums I would take with me on a stranded island. A Beck album and The Guest by Phantom Planet are coming with me though, guaranteed. (Phantom Planet was a huge part of my childhood, don't judge😅❤)
while nothing will ever beat early beck....not LA early beck, but national attention early beck - the 94 trio (MG.SSM OFitG)- this one has come damn close
His Best album!! Perfect for early mornings when you can just appreciate the sombre tones! Or even better when you have just killed your ex girlfriend!! pahaha jokes! Information and Modern Guilt give it a run for its money though when your actually in a Beck mood!

Sea Change is my favorite Beck album by far. I have no idea what you people are talking about.
Anybody realize how depressing Sea Change is? Almost makes me wonder about what Beck was going through at the time.
it is not a break up album
Post-divorce
A break up
he always looks sexy. ^^
1:00 "There's no voice effects" *Jedi hand wave*
