    Really amazing that you can make something so realistic from flower paste - really inspiring. Do you let your petals dry at all after the initial rolling/cutting? Thanks for the tutorial.

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked our video. We let the petals dry for a few seconds if the flower paste is a bit sticky, to prevent the ball tool from sticking to the petal when thinning the edges. You could also use a cornflour pouch to remove any stickiness. You may find you don't need to leave it to dry as it depends on the room environment, it is important not to let it set too much, otherwise you will find the paste cracks when you thin the petals. Hope this helps.

    Amazing tutorial ! Could you tell me pls which kind of sugar paste or gimpaste (I dont know tge difference) you have used and where i can get it. And is it the same to cover a cake?
    Thank you for your answer.

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Houda El Fatimi Hi there, we have used a Flower & Modelling paste by Renshaw, see here www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/Decor-Ice-Rose-Pink-Flower-and-Modelling-Paste-By-Renshaw.htm Gumpaste is another term used to describe flower paste. These pastes (flower, modelling or gumpaste) can be rolled thinner than sugarpaste, allowing you to do more with them, in this example, making intricate flowers. This type of paste sets harder so your models/flowers keep their shape. Sugarpaste (also known as fondant or ready to roll icing) is softer and what we use to cover a cake.
      We have a wide selection of flower pastes that can be used to make flowers like the one in the video, have a look here - www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/8/108/ We also have our own brand, see here www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/White-Sattina-3-in-1-Modelling-Paste.htm Click on the links here and you can buy all of these items on our website and have them sent directly to you! Hope this helps!

    Thank you very much for your help. I've bought from your website satin ice gum paste and sattina, the result is amasing. I 've made some beautiful flowers :).
    I've heard about fondant, would you please tell for what and how we can use it?
    Is it the liquid where we can dip a cake te have a nice colourful top?

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Houda El Fatimi Great to hear you have made some beautiful flowers and you were happy with the items you bought from our website! Thanks for letting us know!
      When talking about fondant, you may hear this word being used to describe sugarpaste (like the Sattina you bought to cover your cake), however, as you have described, we know fondant icing as something you use to cover/dip cakes or fondant fancies (for example - www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/projects/pdfs/French_Fancies.pdf ), Have a look here for fondant icing on our website www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/id/kep691.htm Hope this helps!

    That looks amazing, but perhaps a bit labour intensive for me. They're quite big, aren't they? It must make keeping them perfect rather harder and that it turned out so beautifully much more staggering.

    How do I keep my gum paste from cracking when it's drying and am I supposed to put the gum paste in the fridge when not using?

    • @cakecraftworld
      @cakecraftworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Toni, what is it that you're trying to make? As a general rule, it's important to only use the amount of paste you need as the air will dry out any excess. Avoid cornflour and use icing sugar sparingly. Don't put in the fridge. Keep sealed and store in a cool dry cupboard. Good luck!

      Houda El Fatimi Hi there, Satin Ice Gum paste is best for modelling or making flowers but if you are looking for something to cover your cake, we recommend our own brand of sugarpaste called Sattina, see here www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/8/1005/903/ or we have a wide selection of other sugarpaste brands available too, see here www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/8/1005/ Sattina modelling paste is a great choice for making the flowers! She dabs the petals with a cornflour pouch, as seen here - www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/products/Cornflour-Pouch.htm this makes the petals less sticky and easier to shape using the ball tool. Hope this helps.

      +Charlene Hodder Hi there, the best way is to wire a few roses together into a spray or posy, perhaps with some rose leaves on wires and then use a flower pick to safely insert the flowers into your cake, have a look at our range here www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shop/2/69/178/ as there are several sizes depending on the size of your posy. If you are interested in learning more about this, we have a number of videos on wired flowers (and much much more) as part of our Cake Craft Club, have a look here for more information www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/shopadmin/video_library/main_video/wirelargeposycake360p/Wiring-Flowers-Into-A-Large-Posy-For-A-Cake Hope this helps
