- This is the second part of my Sugar Rose tutorial.
In this video I show you how to: add a calyx; build up layers of dusts to create natural color and shading; steam to set and intensify color; and tape together with rose leaves.
My sugar paste dries very hard, and I allow them rest at least 3 days before applying dust; the longer the better. I am a little less than delicate when handling my sugar flowers because they are sturdy. And because I'm just not a delicate person :) I recommend handling your sugar flowers as they can tolerate.
I haven't made roses in years and needed a refresher course. Thank you! This is exactly how I remembered it. Now I feel confident to move forward. Yes, they can be made faster, but not to this quality. Thanks, again!!
one of the nicest videos i have seen for a rose!
That was gorgeous, very inspiring, even without audio. I will put that steam tip on practice :) Thanks for the videos.
The best tutorial I ever have seen, thanks so much!

Thank you for such a great video. I have been trying to hang dry my roses upside down. But each time I tried my rose just slipped off the hook!!
very nice, great tutorial, many thanks. not too sure if you've changed the petal size, is-it right?
That looks nice.
Gorgeous rose and a great tutorial. Were all your petals the same size or were they graduated. Love your dusting technique.
Fiona Pereira Three graduated sizes beginning with a size slightly bigger than my cone.

Hello Kara, this is amazing, do you share the gumpaste recipe? Thanks
