- Since 1976, the Gray family has operated the revived Virginia & Truckee Railroad, and since 2008, the railroad has operated into the eastern suburbs of Carson City from its base in Virginia City, NV. The original V&T traces its roots back to 1869, and extended from Virginia City and Reno, down to Minden, NV. The line to Virginia City was abandoned in 1938, and the V&T operated until abandonment on May 31, 1950. 9 locomotives are preserved from the railroad in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Sequences in this video were recorded from 2017 to 2019. Enjoy this look at the modern day V&T!

I'm in Winnemucca but I go to VC quite often just to ride this train. I am in love with this engine and the whistle is like soul food.
Great video! Good to see you back on the tube.
Nice video! The V&T is my 2nd favorite short line. The saddle is leaking on the 29 10:27.
