You can place the Ars Nouveau scribe's table next to your storage drive. Any item in your system can be pulled by the scribe's table to help make glyphs, just as it would if you put a chest with items next to it. Really useful when starting the mod as well as grinding the glyphs for more mana
Early game tip is to raid every dungeon you come across. Do not go below the second floor until you’re at netherite level. There is a ton of valuable loot in them. Specifically backpacks and artifacts. Bunny slippers and eternal steak are fine that really help throughout the game.
Alfred wth, i only just found out that you are THE Alfred that made the quests. Your videos are next level, and im yet to start the quests, but im so bloody excited. Thanks for your time and creativity, it is most appreciated, will definitely be heading over to your patreon some time this week.
in atm9 easy villagers are in it, USE THE IRON FARM you will never have to worry about iron ever again. also, fletcher for emeralds plus rough emeralds (emeralds in stone cutter) reset trades. silent gear saw is basically the chainsaw enchantment without needing an enchanting table or books. redwood or pine for your lumber needs.
Tip #54 and #55 If you wanna have your solar neutron activators (from mekanism) work all the time producing polonium from your nuclear waste, set it up in the Everbright Dimension. Also force load chunks to have your machines work even when you're away from your base.
Tip! Avocado Toast is a FANTASTIC early game food source. The easiest way to get avocados is the make a market stall and then buy an avocado sapling for one emerald! Then you can put that sapling in a hopper botany pot and you’ll have avocados for DAYS!
Great vid, two more tips, 1. Work on getting an axe as your main weapon with HP% damage, HP% damage gem and armor pierce/shred for HUGE dmg then enchant with vorpal for added damage. You will 1 to 3 shot piglich and ender dragons. 2. something i got from Alfreds ATM8 playthrough; was craft a vengeance pickaxe from EvilCraft as soon as you get 3 diamonds it gives you fortune V.
also, make a solid fuel quarry in atm9 as soon as possible, it doesnt cost any all the modium, takes 3 slabs, 3 furnaces, 1 redstone torch i think,. and 2 diamond picks, its op af early imo for finding ores (not it may be 3 furnaces cant remember fully tbh) but its super cheap
If you come across a Hexerei village, you can find "drying racks" in the attic bedroom area of some houses, which you can use to dry zombie flesh into leather 9 at a time. Also, I CANNOT survive without COFFERS from Hexerei! I use one as my "everywhere I go" tool box to hold stuff I always need without taking up my backpack spaces. Will hold additional backpacks, your crafting table on a stick, you repair kits, buckets, etc... If you are dedicated enough to make the Hexerei cauldron, you can make this and place coffers everywhere! I use one in my work shed for all my random tools like wrenches, trowel, etc.... LOVE THEM & thanks for another awesome tips video!!!
Wait a goddamn minute Hexerei is in ATM9???? DAMN I absolutely lived the Coffers from Fear Nightfall and I kinda missed them in ATM9, if its the case I am heading to make one right away xD
Bro the quests were the best new addition imo. Added a ton of information I have been having trouble finding online. Maybe add exploration/structure quests. Thank you!
If you ever want to passively increase your Mahou, spend a day to setup an area with a bunch of Alchemical Exchange circles (2 powdered emerald, 1 powdered gold). Each circle will activate at the same time every day, depending on when you initially activated them and thus increasing your mahou without the need to spam the storage gems.
Exchanging tool is great if you want your area looking clean (replace sand with dirt/grass, or you live in a cave but want your walls made out of stone bricks - saves a lot of time digging up and then placing blocks! Also, apotheosis is your friend, affix your gear, use gems, look up non-vanilla library setup! When I first played ATM8 I wasn't aware of there being anything past the usual vanilla enchanting setup; oh boy I was wrong! Thank you Alfred for making the Quests, it's the sole reason I play ATM packs, it's addicting to complete them! I can't play any other modpack that doesn't have them now. xD
Tip: Do not underestimate the power of ars nouveau early game. magelight is extremely cheap and self > magelight gives you night vision. Tip: Touch/projectile > break > amplify > item pickup lets you instantly break almost every block in the game, including blocks like maze stone in the twilight forest, and safely store them in your inventory. this also lets you bypass pesky things like mining fatigue in ocean monuments or yung's better desert pyramid. Tip: Stand on bedrock! There's a whole dimension that's a mish-mash of the overworld, nether, end and aether dimensions and it costs nothing to enter. There's some strong gear at the end of it's progression tree too. Mod is called "Voidscape" Tip: Luck is far and away the strongest apotheosis affix early on. you can snowball incredibly hard with it. Tip: You can fly in the twilight forest and other by using self > leap from ars nouveau
The first infinite water block the quests will tell you about is the sink. And it's good, but not the best. The Eternal Water Block from Evil Craft will instantly fill up any connected inventory with its maximum capacity of water. You'll want this once you make your first Mekanism Fission Reactor. The only limiting factor in making it is waiting for it to rain, but you can find spells in loot chests which will summon rain on command. Don't be afraid to remap less commonly used vanilla hotkeys. I moved drop items to the up arrow and removed the hotkey for listing players by pressing escape over that keybind. Now I use Tab and Q for controlling my jetpack. Dimensional Shards spawn at literally every height level, making them very tedious to find on demand. It can technically be crafted, but each piece is expensive unless you have an infinite source of Emeralds, Diamonds, Quartz, and Prismarine. So if you find any early in the game, keep it. You can lower the volume of any individual sound using extreme sound muffler. Just click the speaker icon in your inventory and search for the sound you want to mute or lower.
ngl the quests are amazing. i never play modded, so having a sorta guide path through stuff as im experiencing, yknow, 400 mods at once, is amazingly helpful
Nice one Alfred. Here’s my top 2 tips.. If you can get a swab on a forgotten (scary skeleton guy from quark, find him at deep slate level in a big cave..) you can farm god forge pearls very early game. He drops his helmet (which will get you the ‘this belongs in a museum’ advancement..) in the overworld the helmet will have one of the first three apotheosis tiers, grey, green or blue. But if you build the farm in a compact machine or another dimension you’ll also get the purple and orange named stuff... And…. The back command won’t only take you back from where you executed a home command, it’ll also take you back to where you just died.. And also the back command isn’t only one location, it’s a stack something like the undo stack in most softwares.. so do a back command.. and then do another one.. see what happens? Very handy. Best.
@@rcole1055 hi mate. You can hook up an item pipe (from pipez) emptying your loot into a trash can. Put a diamond or netherite upgrade at the pipe where it pulls from the chest, set to blacklist, add a filter with a forgotten hat, go into the nbt metadata on the filter, select the text that’s in there, replace it with this {affix_data:{rarity:"epic"}} Now everything goes to trash except helmet with orange name. If you do it again and edit ‘epic’ to ‘mythic’ you can keep back the magenta level stuff as well. AFK an hour, bang you got god pearls. You can also pipe the helmets straight into the salvage table now, which is very handy. Enjoy 👍 Ps add filter also for anything you want to keep, inferium, bauble heart etc. add also a filter for any apotheosis gem, delete all nbt metadata from that particular filter so it just says #apotheosis:gem and you got a half decent farm for those too if you want to start swinging a looting sword at the guys. Do the chorus thing on the spawner so they don’t blind you.
I’m on my 8th or 9th run through atm8 and didn’t even know about this, it’s awesome. The only things I’ve failed to roll into it so far at the shrinking gameboy from compact machines and the locking card which looks like a ram stick from functional storage. A grade tip. 👍
One tip I have is to reset your key binds for the jetpack to be on your extra mouse buttons if you have them. Also set your key binds to open your backpack while it's in your curio slot. The stack upgrade and the void upgrade are very powerful for the backpack. One last bonus tip. The configuration tool that uses power (I forget which mod it's from) is compatible with most piping/Cable mods and has many configuration options. Allowing you to modify fluid, power, item pipes, color code pipe (quite useful for item pipes next to eachother but leading to different inventories).
#1 Using Create is amazing not just for duplicating ores but also for getting annoying things to find such as slime balls, dyes, and many other items. #2 The Leap spell from Ars Nouveau to get around quickly. Once you get creative flight (or a jetpack even works) you'll zoom around faster than your world can generate. #3 Don't want to lose a block to lava, cactus, or the void? A magnet, sophisticated backpack magnet upgrade, silent gear iron tool parts, and finally the Create wrench automatically puts it in your inventory. #4 If you don't want to mine yourself but want lots of stuff and can't afford a chunk destroyer yet? Use a Create contraption such as a self-tracking driller or a drop-drill platform. #5 If you're having trouble with autocrafting (especially in AE2) don't fret, Crafter tier 1-3 are there to help. They're faster than by hand for just a fraction of power. #6 Don't worry about trying to kill tons of Piglitches by hand, they have 10k health! Instead use a Mob Yoinker and Ars Nouveau to get you all the hearts you desire. #7 If you're having trouble with an unsorted inventory. RFTools Inventory Scanner and a wall of storage will tide you over until you can get your Refined Storage / AE2 system up and running. #8 No matter if you choose between RS or AE2, best practice is setting the correct priority on a storage interface touching a Drawer Controller to save disk space for things you will have thousands or millions of. Drawers with Netherite upgrades and Void upgrades keep your system pristine! #9 If you have gems you want to upgrade and socket mid to late game, don't throw away the gray (common) gems! Instead use the parts gained through crushing unwanted gear and gems in the better versions all the way through Perfect gems. For any gem you don't want just crush it for dust to use in the above manner. #10 Mimics drop amazing baubles from the Artifacts mod. If you use a swab to make a Mimic spawner and farm all the artifacts you might just have an easier time under water, in the Nether/End or in seeing in the dark!
Tip #420; please use the ars nouveau storage lecturn. It can connect up to eight inventories per bookwyrm, and act like an early game AE system, costing only a few source gems and some chests! Combine this with diamond or netherite chests and barrels, or item vaults from create!
It has become my go-to for early game storage. Partnered with creates item vaults, it's insanely OP for storage available in the early game. I literally don't even use drawers in a playthrough anymore...
@ashraplays yup yup, and if you name repositories the lecturn will acknowledge and create separate tabs for the inventory screen, allowing you to sort by tab, it's great.
If you're more into tech than magic, I can also highly recommend the RFTools Storage Scanner. It can wirelessly connect to any inventories in an up to 20 block radius around it - including machines (but you can pick and choose what you want to connect). It has a crafting grid built in, and can even save up to 6 crafting recipes, which is super useful to quickly craft often-used earlygame things such as wooden planks or chests. It's cheap to craft and uses very little power, a solar panel or wind generator is plenty. I use it together with like 30 Sophisticated Storage barrels and a few drawers.
If you're struggling to find massive amounts of nether quartz you can veinmine an air balloon dungeon which has roughly 15 stacks of smooth quartz on the outside
@@Rich1313131 true. Didn't have any problem with it by then though, I either already had allthemodium or ars nouveau jump spell with an extra that prevented fall damage
2:25 if you get an avocado sapling from a "Market"(craftable, from "Farming for Blockheads"), you can craft an avocado ontop of a sapling and double both the food and saturation for one more ingredient. Works well with botany pots
About Tip #2: I always set my ultimine hotkey to shift so it was easier to use; Want to use it, just crouch. I did this for years. Then i watched some speedruns from you and noticed the presets like digging a mining tunnel and the small tunneling options and i was blown away. this functionality had been there for so long and I wasn't aware of it due to hotkey conflicts! Needless to say, it's incredibly useful and invaluable to have the presets available especially in the early game when you're base building.
15:48 Do not use your first piece of Allthemodium on the mining world. Use it to make an ore charm to find allthemodium 100 times easier, then use the second piece on the mining dimension
Thank you Alfred. I havent played minecraft for a long time already so modpack can be overwhelming when Im trying to play again. This really helps easing my progress.
If you tip your arrows with the ore sight potion and enchant your bow with endless quiver, you have unlimited uses of the sight potions as long as you can manage to shoot yourself lol
You can also put the potions in the middle row of crafting with 6 blaze powder to turn them into a toggleable item and then you just put mending or an eternal Stella on it
I love this video, man. Thanks for all your work - I personally love the quests. My tip: Make a personal shrinking device, them shits is cool af. You can make yourself as small as 0.2 blocks high, and then run all your cables without having to break two blocks to get under stuff. It also allows you to go past certain blocks that have cables or smaller machines in them. Finally, the personal shrinking device will shrink other entities in the game and then you can right click on them with a bottle to move them around. Need 10 cows to start your IF farm? Shrink them and store them in bottles.
Tip I don't see often; use Compact Machines to turn large complex builds (Say a melon based power farm, an automated ore processing setup, or an RS autocrafting Chonkputer.) into a single in world block. They can be linked to the real world using various tunnels or Combined with RS Network Transmitters/Receivers and Flux Point/FluxPlug) to not bother with tunnels at all. The Max size it 13x13x13 so depending on the build you can set up various floors. Do note that you will need to chunk load the area the CM inhabits and possibly the inside of it as well. (especially for RS and Flux shenanigans.). I personally use them for any Power generating farms, sometimes Mob Farms and any X-Net wiring monstrocity.
I did this once. It worked pretty well! I wouldnt recommend setting up a refined storage unit in one, though. It was extremely buggy and I'd have to relink it all the time
@@1madlilgrunt I have mine in there and the only thing I have to do is go in/out of the main box once every time I load into the save. It helps to have the main room chunkloaded.
Here's a good trick, make a Void upgrade and pickup upgrade for your backpack! that way, when your backpack tries to pick up stone, you can set the settings so that it voids the cobble and saves room for the gems! ^^
I like working through the Quest Book and hitting "L" and working through all those tabs of things to check off as well. I like making a Create clipboard to make checklists for myself and check those off also. I feel very accomplished while sitting in a chair doing nothing for hours! It's great!
Another tip; Bit of a four in one... Ars Nouveau also has a very cheap Silk touch Glyph called Extract which costs a single emeral and allows for long range silk touch(for any Inventory based block (spawners too) up close you will need to crouch cast the spell. You later get to create fortune mining as well with a rabits foot. As you progress the mining capabilities of Ars become fairly ridiculous for not all that much effort which brings me to my last point. Double up on your usage of farms... Got a mob grinder? Add a bunch of Vitalic Source links, a bunch of Source Jars and some Source relays. Lilypad of Fertility based farm? There's a sourcelink for that. Delving into Botania? Blazing Argchood has TONS of leaves for gourmalis AND you can do Volcanic Sourcelink for some more of that sweet source. All that soure can be used to power Ars based processing contraptions like auto fortune, stone,cobble/gravel/sand farm and even the auto gourmalis farm (with a bit of help from project red or whatever it's called now) as well as just general Ars Progression.
Extra Tips: rotten flesh from a mob farm using a smoking and generator augment makes lots of energy -silent gear obsidian hammer speeds up mining without using the hunger bar early game, next tier is refined obsidian hammer with netherite coating -enchanted books can be combined in an anvil instead of using tomes which can only be found in chests, for higher tier enchants like fortune III -> Fortune V
The Backpacks are like the most important thing. They make exploring and storage sooo easy. Fill a backpack with netherite stacks and you can connect it to a AE2 or RS network as a super compact drawer system, just have a filler item in it to prevent it from getting a bunch of random stuff.
Chucking my two cents here - set up a chemistry set as quick as possible. The Alchemistry compactor, dissolver, and the third one whos name i forget. This can allow you to create just about any base minecraft resource you might need, including a way to manufacture nether stars. Theyre relatively cheap, and i tend to get them set up asap so that i can get things i might be missing for a recipe - jumbo furnaces are a great early game bulk smelting method. They can make use of all the cobble and deepslate your dank collects, turning it into a highly efficient smeltery. I use these instead of iron furnaces, which I instead put to work as power generators. I also use a combination of tiny charcoal and a hopper botany pot to produce a steady supply of charcoal that can then be used to power or supply other things. It just goes in the background, and is very easy early automation. - Eat as much food as possible! It's not super clear, but foods with the "not yet eaten, I wonder what it tastes like?" tag have a chance to increase your base health when eaten. You can easily work your way up to twenty or even thirty hearts by trying a variety of foods. - Don't skip out on corail! What seems like little more than a grave mod hides some wonderful progression options, as well as some very powerful items. One of these is the book of recycling, which can effectively unmake any crafted item. You can use this in conjunction with the loadstones that sit on top of naturally generating spawners to get easy, cheap netherite ingots without ever having to go to the nether. - The broom from evil craft simply cannot be touched. It's highly modular, but you can easily make a fast, powerful broom that does damage to anything you fly into while also blocking projectiles. While no means an early game item, it's a good flying alternative if you're not in love with jet packs or going for a magic centric build. - for all those that love Compact machines, this mod pack doesn't have it, but it does have hyperboxes. These bad boys are simple, relatively cheap, and a full 13x13x13 on the inside. They just take crying obsidian (which can be found on top of spawners all over the place) and eight ender pearls. They don't have quite as much functionality as compact machines, but they're still a blast, and could easily be missed if you don't know what you're looking for.
running around and jumping on top of my chests (and machines) is exactly what i do at certain point in all my worlds: then it is either stop playing or pushing on with more grindy quests, if available
Great video, and great work with the quests too, really enjoying the pack! A few tips for early game (ATM9): 1. Nether free blaze powder: Craft a fel pumpkin from Botania, place it on top of two iron bars to spawn a weak blaze. It just drops powder, but it's really cheap to make, only vanilla resources. It also works for the Create blaze cages! 2. Ars Nouveau: This mod can be pretty OP, some of it already accessible early; the novice spellbook and scribe's table are very easy to make. Good and cheap spells to craft, only with vanilla resources: -Conjure Magelight: infinite light sources, can be placed far away too. Can also give short night vision. -Pick up item: instantly picks up items, can be combined with break. With a spell projectile>break>pickup, you can collect resources from cave ceilings instantly into your inventory. 3. Free diamonds: The pack has multiple options for renewable diamonds; there's one that is cheap to make that doesn't even need one diamond to start. You need a Pulverizer from the Thermal series, a Compactor from Alchemistry, any furnace and a lot of charcoal/coal; the first two machines also need FE. First, smelt the coal in a furnace to make graphite ingots. Use the Pulverizer to make them into graphite dust. Then, use the Compactor to make the graphite dust into diamonds. You have to select diamonds in the menu of the Compactor and lock it. 16 graphite dusts make 1 diamond. And something a bit more advanced: 4. Integrated Dynamics/Tunnels and Occultism are great for ore processing. But the ore multiplication can also be fully automated just within them: With the World Item Exporter, you can put raw ores directly into the crusher's inventory. It needs end resources to craft, but all of them can be obtained with Occultism.
this is probably bad to say but i have been subscribed to you for a little bit and didn't even realize that you worked on all the mods 9. i appreciate it.
I know this isnt in the pack originally, but the Carry On nod is great, you can pick up chest, drawers ect in ur hands without losing items too. Can pick up all kinds of stuff
tip no 0: if you can´t find a cornflower in the first 10 minutes... restart with a new map. Just Kidding^^ (maybe) AlfredGG thank for your work on ATM. Watching these 50 tips make me think you might underestimate SophBackpack, it can easily substitude better for some of your tips. Compacting upgrade is one that saves you a LOT of inventory space.
The most annoying issue is that many features don't work because they duplicate key combinations of other mods. And you never find out, that there are additional features that are blocked by other features that you actually don't need.
*new sub* I just started All the Mods 8 and really like the quests. The tip about the ore hammer was totally great. I know there is a ton of ways to do things in this mod pack, but it's all new to me lol so I have a lot to learn.
Another easy way to get silk touch is through Ars Nouveau. One emerald block gets you the silk touch spell, nice to have if you can't find amethyst or make brass first.
Ars nouveau spellbook asap just for the ranged magelight spell. Upgrade later for a ranged break with silk touch - great for collecting spawners without triggereing them.
coming back from Tekkit like 10y ago, those a great tips! Only weird thing is, ATM 8 runs fine for me ~45% cpu load (6700k) but ATM 9 just 100% and wont run smooth anytime.. DW20 1.20.1 works fine too so its not MC 1.20 heavy modded being a issue (32G ramm) But 1 tip i like more, try the drying rack from Hexerei for rotten flesh -> leather. They looko fun on the ceiling in the magic area of the base, and they can store 4 or 5 of them on 1 rack, and cheaper to make
Great video, thanks. I do like the quests. I got the craziest spawn on our first day recording. We spawned on top of, what I call, "The Sand Castle." Big giant, sandstone dungeon. Cray cray. Thanks again for all the great tips.
note: the /back command has a cooldown. in atm8, its just 30 seconds by default, while in atm9 its much longer, i think 3 hours. but that can probably be changed in the server settings. if you know where you find those.
The Mechanical Squeezer from Integrated Dynamics gets you the most out of silk-touched ores, then raw metals can be doubled with an ore hammer in the early game, but a complete Mekanism setup (see questline) gives 10 dust/ingots per 3 raw metal, thus basically 3.333 for each one
I have to say: those quests are an absolute miracle. There are several friends i play with in ATM9 now that straight up wouldnt have been willing without that guide. It is a blessing in the virtual world and extremely appreciated. (Not to mention the humour is pretty great.)
I agree with you regarding wondering traders btw they keep entering my house without permission and getting in the way and they spawn back every time i kill one
Hey, I started watching you yesterday! Just wondering whether you'd consider uploading your Livestream VODs to a YT channel? I'm sure im not the only one that would love to see the entire thing beginning to end! You're videos have both entertained and educated me tremendously, i thank you greatly!
I'm not sure if it's cause i'm doing a server of the modpack, but the dungeon mentioned at the end, people should be careful cause that dungeon can quickly become a lag fest due to the mob entity counts if your pc can't handle it
Tip: use deleting block tool to clean up the others dungeon, it will demolish the whole structure except of chests and spawners, and it will be harder for mobs to spawn without solid blocks under their feet.
Dude I searched videos like this just for help getting resources and couldn’t get the right ones but as soon as I noticed there’s quests I got the thing I needed first quest
tip 40.1 if you want to undo the latest wand block placemen, using ctrl + shift will highlight the latest placed blocks with green, right-clicking will let u undo those blocks
Not sure if ATM8 has this but using the saw table from productive trees you can get sawdust and 50% more planks. The sawdust can be used to make a cardboard box which is easier to make than getting a diamond silktouch pickaxe to move spawners
Because of alltheores, if you silk touch ore blocks you can then shove them through an ID Mechanical Squeezer to get anywhere between 3-7 ores per block. Doesn't work for everything though, just things that alltheores translates to ore chunks. For everything else there's Ars Fortune.
Here's a tip, when you go to upgrade your tartaric gem just put the filled gem into one of the four craft slots and it works as if it was in the right slot
For tip number 51: I disagree. I always use my *first* allthemodium to make a charm of allthemodium sight, which makes it substantially easier to get a second, which I use for the teleport pad. Yeah; it's more common in the mining dimension, but it can still take quite a while strip mining to find it. I guess you could get unlucky and not find another one in the deep dark even with the charm, but I've never had that happen. Tip for vein mining: make a food that gives a nourishment buff; which makes you not gain hunger even when mining. That way it's easier not to burn through food. Searching "nourishment" in jei will give you a list of food with the buff.
Another tip: you can turn any tool into an apotheosis tool. After you turn your tool into a silent gear tool so you can repair it; you can turn it back into an apotheosis tool so it's awesome again (and it remains silent gear) 😊 Also on the allthemodium dungeons: they are no joke. They are so rare that my structure compass couldn't locate one in it's search radius (so I called bs and used the locate command 😅) The Other disables flight, and also is a lot of soulsand valley so traversing underground or some good soul running boots are the way to go. Once you get to the dungeon mob spawns are intense. Dozens of fast paced spawners. So I highly recommend indestructible armour like allthemodium or vibranium so you don't have to worry about durability. You can make them apotheosis too 😊
At the moment when the video was released, Mekanism wasn't in ATM9, so it wouldn't be a tip that's for ATM8 and 9. As of 0.1.11 Mekanism got added, though, so it's back in!
no joke, quests are what makes the whole "modpack thing" so much more enjoyable. thank you for those!
It keeps me focused so I don't get bored trying to find things to do 😂
Why does my game not have quests? did they take it out of ATM9
@@jamesrollins2640 you may be playing on an older version of the atm9 modpack. quests just got added a few weeks ago. and they are still in!
@@jamesrollins2640they are still in, but idk why you cant see them
I'm playing ATM 9 and mine has quests?@@jamesrollins2640
Ok you caught me, i thought I was the only one who just roam around and jump on chests without knowing what to do 😂😅
totally not like something that we don;t do
Same 😔✌️
Yup
You can place the Ars Nouveau scribe's table next to your storage drive. Any item in your system can be pulled by the scribe's table to help make glyphs, just as it would if you put a chest with items next to it. Really useful when starting the mod as well as grinding the glyphs for more mana
I DID NOT KNOW THIS. That is massive!!!!
Early game tip is to raid every dungeon you come across. Do not go below the second floor until you’re at netherite level. There is a ton of valuable loot in them. Specifically backpacks and artifacts. Bunny slippers and eternal steak are fine that really help throughout the game.
Eternal steak is pretty nice to get early. You can also get them as drops from Cows!
Bunny slippers are the best man
Tip: You can claim chunks by selecting the map in the top left of your inventory! You can also Shift-Click to keep it loaded even when you're away.
Claimed chunks can’t be damaged by explosions
You should go into the configs to increase claimed and loaded chunk limits. You won’t have enough unless you overload chunks w/ automation.
well we get the basement for that case, just build a nother level in those 9 chunks :) @@Bob_Smith19
@@LoveElisaKissyes, my fission reactor exploded like 10 times till I figured how to set it up properly. My base is still intact 😅
Force loading chunks is especially helpful on servers :) this way you can load your battery's or keep the production running
Alfred wth, i only just found out that you are THE Alfred that made the quests. Your videos are next level, and im yet to start the quests, but im so bloody excited. Thanks for your time and creativity, it is most appreciated, will definitely be heading over to your patreon some time this week.
in atm9
easy villagers are in it, USE THE IRON FARM
you will never have to worry about iron ever again.
also, fletcher for emeralds plus rough emeralds (emeralds in stone cutter) reset trades.
silent gear saw is basically the chainsaw enchantment without needing an enchanting table or books.
redwood or pine for your lumber needs.
Tip #54 and #55
If you wanna have your solar neutron activators (from mekanism) work all the time producing polonium from your nuclear waste, set it up in the Everbright Dimension.
Also force load chunks to have your machines work even when you're away from your base.
You can use the Everbright dimension to keep diurnal bees working constantly as well.
Tip! Avocado Toast is a FANTASTIC early game food source. The easiest way to get avocados is the make a market stall and then buy an avocado sapling for one emerald! Then you can put that sapling in a hopper botany pot and you’ll have avocados for DAYS!
I always forget to look for Avocados lol I know I can make the market, but then I tend to skip the whole "Make botany pot" to set it up. Good tip!
Great vid, two more tips,
I have yet to really get around to making an Axe OP. The new Apotheosis update seems to have made it a little harder to do!
@@AlfredGGMC i had not played with the earlier version of apotheosis, and just made mine last week. it still seems great for bosses.
also, make a solid fuel quarry in atm9 as soon as possible, it doesnt cost any all the modium, takes 3 slabs, 3 furnaces, 1 redstone torch i think,. and 2 diamond picks, its op af early imo for finding ores (not it may be 3 furnaces cant remember fully tbh) but its super cheap
this has been nerfed :( - You actually need 3 atm nuggets now
If you come across a Hexerei village, you can find "drying racks" in the attic bedroom area of some houses, which you can use to dry zombie flesh into leather 9 at a time.
I assume Hexeri is still in it. It was when I played it anyways! Not sure about updates since then...
Bro the quests were the best new addition imo. Added a ton of information I have been having trouble finding online. Maybe add exploration/structure quests. Thank you!
Currently working on an Ad Astra chapter, as well as some new chapters for people to explore!
Mod is called "Voidscape"
Tip: Luck is far and away the strongest apotheosis affix early on. you can snowball incredibly hard with it.
These are all great tips! I actually love the sound muffler!
ngl the quests are amazing. i never play modded, so having a sorta guide path through stuff as im experiencing, yknow, 400 mods at once, is amazingly helpful
Thanks for this video! I just got this modpack last night, and it's overwhelming jumping from vanilla to this. Your overview is very helpful
Very handy. Best.
After you set up the farm for the Forgotten, how do you seperate loot, I have it in a compact room, but I'm getting tons of hats of different colors
@@rcole1055 hi mate. You can hook up an item pipe (from pipez) emptying your loot into a trash can. Put a diamond or netherite upgrade at the pipe where it pulls from the chest, set to blacklist, add a filter with a forgotten hat, go into the nbt metadata on the filter, select the text that’s in there, replace it with this
{affix_data:{rarity:"epic"}}
Now everything goes to trash except helmet with orange name. If you do it again and edit ‘epic’ to ‘mythic’ you can keep back the magenta level stuff as well. AFK an hour, bang you got god pearls. You can also pipe the helmets straight into the salvage table now, which is very handy. Enjoy 👍
Ps add filter also for anything you want to keep, inferium, bauble heart etc. add also a filter for any apotheosis gem, delete all nbt metadata from that particular filter so it just says #apotheosis:gem and you got a half decent farm for those too if you want to start swinging a looting sword at the guys. Do the chorus thing on the spawner so they don’t blind you.
Thanks man, would never have figured that out on my own@@JefAlanLong
@@rcole1055 took me a while too mate, those pipez filters where you can actually put text in are very powerful.
Enjoy your god forged gear. 👍
Epic or Mythic?@@JefAlanLong
Thanks for making the quests especially in atm 9 the quests are incredibly well designed.
This is the best video explaining the fuster cluck that is this mod pack, thank you, I just got into atm9 and felt so lost till this video
Your quests are actually helpful unlike many other modpacks
Bonus tip: With all the wands/wrenches you have to use, craft a Morphing Wand and you can combine all the wrenches/wands/configurator into 1 tool!
I keep forgetting about this. Thanks for the tip!
@@AlfredGGMC no problem!
Just don't put anything with durability in them as that causes weirdness, also if you use compact machines the Remote can go into the morph tool.
I use the mouse buttons for ultimine and opening a backpack. I do suggest changing the jet pack key binds to something else.
I really want to try out the new Ars stuff!
It has become my go-to for early game storage. Partnered with creates item vaults, it's insanely OP for storage available in the early game. I literally don't even use drawers in a playthrough anymore...
@@Iskariot053 Wait, Ars bookwyrms let you see what's in a create item vault? TIL
Great tip - just gotta be careful not to veinmine the block. you're standing on. I died and had to trek back 3k blocks to get my grave!
I normally use that for everything! I love the Avocado Toast!
It’s even easier if you have a gaming mouse and bind it to one of the side buttons.
I had NO IDEA they did so many cool and amazing things. When I found the mining tunnel, I lost my mind. lol
I always bind ultimine to button 4 (back button in browser) on my mouse since that's the hand aiming and mining already.
The quest line for mystical agriculture was a lifesaver on learning that mod!
I have never thought about doing that lol
You can also put the potions in the middle row of crafting with 6 blaze powder to turn them into a toggleable item and then you just put mending or an eternal Stella on it
But where do you get arrows easily?
@@onkelfabs6408 endless quiver makes any type of arrow not consuming
@@parcevall9477 you saw the video :D
It's great!
I really need to start making checklists for myself! I like this idea :D
All that soure can be used to power Ars based processing contraptions like auto fortune, stone,cobble/gravel/sand farm and even the auto gourmalis farm (with a bit of help from project red or whatever it's called now) as well as just general Ars Progression.
you can get a free wrench from the create tab in the questbook
everbright dimension makes antimatter twice as fast
Extra Tips: rotten flesh from a mob farm using a smoking and generator augment makes lots of energy
-silent gear obsidian hammer speeds up mining without using the hunger bar early game, next tier is refined obsidian hammer with netherite coating
-enchanted books can be combined in an anvil instead of using tomes which can only be found in chests, for higher tier enchants like fortune III -> Fortune V
The Backpacks are like the most important thing. They make exploring and storage sooo easy. Fill a backpack with netherite stacks and you can connect it to a AE2 or RS network as a super compact drawer system, just have a filler item in it to prevent it from getting a bunch of random stuff.
Chucking my two cents here
- set up a chemistry set as quick as possible. The Alchemistry compactor, dissolver, and the third one whos name i forget. This can allow you to create just about any base minecraft resource you might need, including a way to manufacture nether stars. Theyre relatively cheap, and i tend to get them set up asap so that i can get things i might be missing for a recipe
- jumbo furnaces are a great early game bulk smelting method.
PLEASE do more of these i'm just starting in atm9 and this video is GOLD
Great video, and great work with the quests too, really enjoying the pack!
A few tips for early game (ATM9):
1. Nether free blaze powder:
Craft a fel pumpkin from Botania, place it on top of two iron bars to spawn a weak blaze. It just drops powder, but it's really cheap to make, only vanilla resources.
It also works for the Create blaze cages!
2. Ars Nouveau: This mod can be pretty OP, some of it already accessible early; the novice spellbook and scribe's table are very easy to make.
Good and cheap spells to craft, only with vanilla resources:
-Conjure Magelight: infinite light sources, can be placed far away too.
Can also give short night vision.
-Pick up item: instantly picks up items, can be combined with break. With a spell projectile>break>pickup, you can collect resources from cave ceilings instantly into your inventory.
3. Free diamonds:
The pack has multiple options for renewable diamonds; there's one that is cheap to make that doesn't even need one diamond to start.
And something a bit more advanced:
4. Integrated Dynamics/Tunnels and Occultism are great for ore processing.
But the ore multiplication can also be fully automated just within them:
With the World Item Exporter, you can put raw ores directly into the crusher's inventory.
It needs end resources to craft, but all of them can be obtained with Occultism.
These are amazing tips!!! Thank you for taking the time to type it all out :D
I love people like u fr, these games lowkey got some what of a learning curve and ts rlly helpful
bro I've played all the mods 6 and now atm 9, holyyy THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDD
this is probably bad to say but i have been subscribed to you for a little bit and didn't even realize that you worked on all the mods 9. i appreciate it.
I know this isnt in the pack originally, but the Carry On nod is great, you can pick up chest, drawers ect in ur hands without losing items too. Can pick up all kinds of stuff
tip no 0: if you can´t find a cornflower in the first 10 minutes... restart with a new map.
Just Kidding^^ (maybe)
AlfredGG thank for your work on ATM.
Watching these 50 tips make me think you might underestimate SophBackpack, it can easily substitude better for some of your tips. Compacting upgrade is one that saves you a LOT of inventory space.
As for the mob gates I recommend having an open pit with a mob grinder in it and trapdoors so everything dies pretty fast without having to take dmg
Thank you! I don't even play ATM at the moment, but a fair amount of these tips are still useful for the modpack I'm currently playing!
YW! Glad they could help!
YOU ARE THE MAN HIMSELF? YOUR QUESTS ARE AMAZING!!!
The most annoying issue is that many features don't work because they duplicate key combinations of other mods. And you never find out, that there are additional features that are blocked by other features that you actually don't need.
Great video! I would like to see another video about tips and tricks for mid to end game too!
ooo! A more advanced tips and tricks video?
@@AlfredGGMC absolutely! Right on the dot👊
*new sub* I just started All the Mods 8 and really like the quests. The tip about the ore hammer was totally great. I know there is a ton of ways to do things in this mod pack, but it's all new to me lol so I have a lot to learn.
oh my god the packing chests thing saved my life bro thank you
Another easy way to get silk touch is through Ars Nouveau. One emerald block gets you the silk touch spell, nice to have if you can't find amethyst or make brass first.
Ars nouveau spellbook asap just for the ranged magelight spell. Upgrade later for a ranged break with silk touch - great for collecting spawners without triggereing them.
When you find your first diamonds, make a diamond tip to add to your silent gear pickaxe, make an ars spell book ASAP.
coming back from Tekkit like 10y ago, those a great tips! Only weird thing is, ATM 8 runs fine for me ~45% cpu load (6700k) but ATM 9 just 100% and wont run smooth anytime.. DW20 1.20.1 works fine too so its not MC 1.20 heavy modded being a issue (32G ramm)
But 1 tip i like more, try the drying rack from Hexerei for rotten flesh -> leather.
OOOOO I love that place! It has a name, but i can't remember. I have a friend who built their entire base in one!
For tip #5 you can do /back to get teleported back to where you originaly teleported from 🥳
note: the /back command has a cooldown. in atm8, its just 30 seconds by default, while in atm9 its much longer, i think 3 hours. but that can probably be changed in the server settings. if you know where you find those.
ohh you are the alfredgg from the quest didn't know that 😂 I like quests so i don't just run in circles!
That's me!!
Settting up and encased fan to smelt early game means you can bulk smelt whole stacks at a time. Super easy!
Try out Occultism! You can get 6x per raw ore with the best crusher!
Bro, this has been the most useful video ever. Thank you so much.
Also would like to say, modpacks are way better with quests, it gives you an anchor on progress and provides goals and new approaches to a mod
I like the quests they keep me focused just wish more quests had more than just exp rewards
I have to say: those quests are an absolute miracle. There are several friends i play with in ATM9 now that straight up wouldnt have been willing without that guide. It is a blessing in the virtual world and extremely appreciated. (Not to mention the humour is pretty great.)
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed them!
I agree with you regarding wondering traders btw they keep entering my house without permission and getting in the way and they spawn back every time i kill one
one of the best minecraft videos seen in ages simple precise and i learn so many things
Oh this vid has so much useful stuff in it, thank you!
Hey, I started watching you yesterday! Just wondering whether you'd consider uploading your Livestream VODs to a YT channel? I'm sure im not the only one that would love to see the entire thing beginning to end!
You're videos have both entertained and educated me tremendously, i thank you greatly!
I do plan on figuring out a way to upload from my livestreams, and I think I have figured out a way to do it! Thank you for the kind words :D
I'm not sure if it's cause i'm doing a server of the modpack, but the dungeon mentioned at the end, people should be careful cause that dungeon can quickly become a lag fest due to the mob entity counts if your pc can't handle it
yo wassup alfred! love ur videos u help alot
Thank you Alfred !
Protip: Use create cart loaders to move lootr chests back to base or a public spot for friends to access.
Tip: use deleting block tool to clean up the others dungeon, it will demolish the whole structure except of chests and spawners, and it will be harder for mobs to spawn without solid blocks under their feet.
What is the tool / block?
I can't find it in JEI.
@@TrueXiarno they *might* be referring to the Destruction Gadget, but that does void inventories as well, so I'm not really sure tbh
God I wished I had known this before.
For tip 15, I am pretty sure there are also drying racks from mods like hexerei that do this and don't require black dye or iron!
There are! The only problem is that they take a little longer.
@@AlfredGGMC Oh yea forgot ATM9 is a 1.20 pack already... time flies damn
Thanks so much! I just started this modpack and this helped a ton! I'm gonna wub now! :))
A looot of great tips and great editing work!
My favourite was 13 and 38, didnt know the packing tape or the bucket on xp crystal trick ^^
Oh man, the XP Crystal is literally the best thing ever. I love it!
Great video! Very good tips. I would recommend giving the tip slowly, though.
Here's a tip, when you go to upgrade your tartaric gem just put the filled gem into one of the four craft slots and it works as if it was in the right slot
Oh god that is a tip I really needed. Thank you!
So you don't have to use the mekanism or greg tech furnace to get electric furnaces? You can actually use Furnace modifications
I also enjoy the guilt of exploding chickens for mob eggs.
After you turn your tool into a silent gear tool so you can repair it; you can turn it back into an apotheosis tool so it's awesome again (and it remains silent gear) 😊
Also on the allthemodium dungeons: they are no joke. They are so rare that my structure compass couldn't locate one in it's search radius (so I called bs and used the locate command 😅)
The Other disables flight, and also is a lot of soulsand valley so traversing underground or some good soul running boots are the way to go.
Once you get to the dungeon mob spawns are intense. Dozens of fast paced spawners. So I highly recommend indestructible armour like allthemodium or vibranium so you don't have to worry about durability. You can make them apotheosis too 😊
thank you for the tips kind lady
What a video. Deserves more than this.mant views
The problem is: You didn't even explain what the mod is, and why there are 9 of them.
I chuckled lol
Tip: Use an ancient Compass to find an ancient city guarantied. In All The Mods 9 I should specify.
Love it alfred. Need more atm9 streams tho
tip: to move spawners just use cardboardboxes, crafted by 4 sawdust
At the moment when the video was released, Mekanism wasn't in ATM9, so it wouldn't be a tip that's for ATM8 and 9. As of 0.1.11 Mekanism got added, though, so it's back in!
