    Love this video. Just ordered the same carabiners that u use. Was going to order the rope but they only sell it in 100’ section and up. I just want six feet. Went out to my garage and noticed I have that same size stiff rope that came with large magnets used for magnet fishing. I got two of them at a hundred feet with massive magnets for the same price. One rope can sacrifice six feet. Just gotta die it black. Stiff rope is the key! Thanks again for the tips

      Yep the flip factor of the stiff rope is a huge bonus.

  • @anotheryoutuber_
    @anotheryoutuber_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    i appreciate your videos. i definitely agree that a stiff rope makes climbing much easier/safer. i do prefer using a prusik with a tender, i generally go by the rule of 50 percent for bite and 70 percent for sliding for choosing the smaller diameter for the prusik, because the prusik is doubled you end up with a system that has very limited strength loss assuming they are tied and dressed correctly. on my non-adjustable side i use a figure eight on a bite thats then tied to my saddle with a cows hitch. i tend to prefer less hardware for hunting and will run a set up similar to yours when doing tree work. thanks for showing there is more than one way to be successful, even your old set up did the trick.

    Put the tail end of your lineman’s rope through the carabiner you have right there on the end of your lineman’s where a prusik would be and you have a tender for one handed adjustment. I use a catalyst hitch 6mm Beal Jammy. It’s as strong as your lineman’s cord.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep the dies are not always perfect but it makes it hide better than the white. I want to be able to disconnect my lineman belt and hang it in the tree while im hunting rather than have it attached to me while hunting. Thats why i use 2 carabiners.

  • @raybship1
    @raybship1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you put the moving end of you lineman rope through the carabiner that's attaching you prusik to your harness the carabiner will tend your prusik. It works one handed just like the ropeman.

    • @SamkoTradBow
