@GoodEnoughEngineering Fair points, I do compare Maverick to many of RMC’s creations as it definitely feels similar to many of their coasters. I never meant to compare Maverick to the Ibox track, purely the ride experience, and how Maverick was one of the first to use more compact elements as opposed to more conventional airtime hills and turnarounds of its time. As for me saying Maverick looks “unassuming” that was just to hook the viewers, and I do think Maverick is a pretty imposing ride. Anyway, sorry for my rant 🤣 and I really appreciate the feedback!

I didn’t think much of Maverick when I first got in queue, especially when it’s surrounded by huge mega coasters. It looked like a fun quick ride with nice inversions, and I knew about the surprise lunch as well. I don’t think anyone can actually prepare for just how violent and wildly intense this ride is until you actually ride it. It’s a toss up with Steve as my favorite Cedar Point ride, but usually my top because it’s so fun and unique.

I can see how someone could say it is a little short. I personally like SteVe a little more than Mav, but I feel that Mav deserves more attention

Lucky! My home park is Cedar Point, but even I didn’t get to ride. Granted I did not have a season pass, and because I have one now, I will definitely go to any passholder event for the park!

i got 3 rides on it once preview day the 28th of April, once opening day and once 1 hour before park closed for the day on the last day it ran(may 10th) and on all 3 trains(silver definitely was the roughest) so i was one of the first and one of the last to have ridden it and rode a few bucket list Coasters X2 Xcelerator, ghost rider, Hangtime and Tatsu plus twisted Colossus just 4 days before riding top thrill 2 so 2024 has been a Win. i got middle row, 2nd from front, and a Back row. and yes that twist down the top hat definitely had some bite, it tossed me left to right like a ragdoll, but made it more interesting. and that backwards launch was crazy. the black train back row was pretty epic that spike felt out this world i haven't been that Nervous for a coaster since 2000 when i first rode Millennium X2 and Tatsu had me going pretty good also, i miss them and top thrill 2 so bad i need more lol and @Thrill_Report im hoping to get out to great Adventure too soon, as cedar point is my home park. i just went to magic mountain(missed 5 Credits), Knotts(all credits besides MR., KI X3, CP X14, and Hershey park(3 day stay) this year. and i want to make El Toro my 100th coaster Next Year, im at 89 right now. wish i had some Coaster Friends to go travel and ride with

i went last Wednesday and the park was dead got there at 12:30 everything was a walk on except the 3 monsters they had 15-25 min waits and near mid to end of the day they all were walk ons. i rode steel Vengeance 6 times in 35 min(i timed it) maverick only twice cause i didn't have time to head to the back from rog at 7:55) magnum 4 times i didn't even have to get out of my train they let me go 3x in a row, millennium force 5X, Valravn 4X. Blue streakX3 didn't have to leave. all the B&M's and everything else but 2 and those 2 were just mine ride and corkscrew.

I live an hour away and i would skip this ride due to the old restraints.

You call the ride unassuming and not impressive then you call the elements impressive. This video should serve as a what not to do on TH-cam

Thanks for the feedback, even though I disagree. Watch a similar video from someone like ElToroRyan which will show that in fact many people thought Cedar Point WOULD take the record back. I can see where you are coming from about RMC, but that was just my opinion.

I don't even think they need a new coaster. Just some new SOMETHING, preferably in the gap between ST and Thunderhawk to complete the loop. I talked to employees there, even they go around instead of cutting through the back area. Add a windseeker, a S&S swing, drop tower, whatever, just something.

@dominicjannazo7144 swing for the win. Valleyfair one is so stupid fun..so basic but a blast.

My pick would be a raptor. Small, Cheap, Doesn’t even have to be an original layout. Give it a rough theme and dress it up a bit, and you have a great one-two punch with that and ST, for relatively cheap.

I can respect that. Velocicoaster is my #3 behind SteVe and Iron Gwazi, but that is because I prefer an amazing ride experience over outstanding theming. But it is still an amazing ride nonetheless!

After losing Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick is the only reason I drive to Cedar Point. Excited to hear that Velicoaster is just as good if not better!

It's not really any worse than any old arrows, just rather uninteresting, as it's just a hill and two corkscrews

Honestly didn’t have enough time. Most of these shots were when I was walking from ST to Thunderhawk. And wanted a bit of footage. But I don’t live terribly far away, so maybe if MA gets a raptor or something, I’ll check it out.
