A little disappointed with the Sportage, especially the fact that the traction control is not a little more aggressive when the central coupler is "locked". On the other hand, good results for the Kuga (I must admit I like this generation, not too big, not too small). The experience of Land Rover (which belonged to Ford until 2009) in this field could have helped a bit...
It's a KIA - they always suck. No matter what YT channel I watch, no matter what kind of test (rollers, light off road, diagonal, vehicle comparison, etc) KIA/HYUNDAI are always at the bottom performance wise.

@@dundee1080 That is not what I said, nor what I think. I was just hoping for a difference in traction control calibration between 4wd Auto and 4wd Lock. That's all.
Not sure why the Sportage has always received a sub-par 4WD over the generations...? Meanwhile the Kuga's system did quite well IMO. What transfer case does it use?
AWD system of Sportage was getting better with each generation, new one works really well, especially in versions equipped with extended driving modes. When it comes to Ford - I believe that up to 2012 they were using haldex and then they switched to ITCC.

Why does ist sometimes take a long time to get off the rollers?
Systems have different reaction times, different tuning, different effectiveness etc.
