Moi to be accorded the ultimate State funeral

- Fallen former president Daniel Moi is set to be the fifth Kenyan to ever be accorded the ultimate honor of a state funeral. Moi’s however is unique as it will be the first for a former head of state with Kenya’s History illustrated by a week-long mourning period for a president that died in office in Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
Sam Gituku looks into what goes into a state funeral and how unique Moi’s will be compared to four other Kenyans that have gone before him.

As we condem current and past leaders for failing us due to bad leadership we should also ask ourselves how we help our country in our own small ways as we wait for bigger things.
Mzee Daniel Toroitich arap Moi was a great leader who loved children during his leadership and I was one of those who benefitted from that warm leadership, especially MAZIWA YA NYAYO. His legacy will live on in each and everyone who loves peace. Peace, Love and Unity are the foundation for a great nation and Moi's leadership has contributed to Kenya's development and I think Kenya is the pride of East Africa. May you rest in eternal peace Mzee.

May his soul rest in peace. Mzee was God choosen President and that's why he was given time by God to clean himself. I followed how he became the president en I was what? Even the Kings we read about were not perfect, let's remember good things he did for this country ESP uniting all tribes together and recognising individual capability.

But can you please just stop with the dictator talk. Yes he was a harsh leader but there is one thing he did well. He shielded us from western influence, thats why they froze our aid and made our econony crumble (there is more into this but I'll say this, we're not a poor country and we must have pride in ourselves, we don't need aid because it comes at some cost). Remember colonized nations have a hard time creating an economy if the colonizers are not able to control you. Our goods are traded for so much cheaper than they're worth and yet when we import we buy them at a higher price. This destroys an economy. Even if his government may have taken some money from kenya, his government tried to bring education in kenya, there were many factories. Even kenya produced a vehicle in his government. Say what you want, but moi was pro African, I like that. These days foreigners are given priorities in Kenya interms of investments, uhuru doesn't care. For a fact Kenyatta didn't care for all Kenyans. There is nothing wrong with having one government party if people participate in politics. Remember people have the power not the government.
Moi did alot for kenya, he had his selfishness but the truth is when African countries accept the west and even today China, yes some people might see some wealth but you're essentially trading your country, while being economically, politically, and culturally enslaved.
I hope we get a leader with some of those traits from Moi. I'm tired of Kenya going in this direction. The western solutions are not our solutions. We're not for sale, we're not to be used to fight wars with our brethren.
