- Retired President Daniel Arap Moi's sensational revelation that he had been actively supporting departed Internal Security Minister George Saitoti's presidential bid. Speaking when he visited the late Saitoti's home to condole with the family, Moi termed his vice president of 13 years as an efficient man who never quarrelled with anyone. However, it will be remembered that Prof Saitoti acrimoniously fell out with the retired president in 2002, when he by-passed him, and unilaterally endorsed the then political greenhorn, Uhuru Kenyatta as his preferred successor, despite Prof Saitoti's years of loyalty and experience. Day Moi lied in broad daylight, telling us that he supported Pro. Saitoti for the country's top job was utter nonsense, putting into consideration that he again,in broad daylight endorsed Uhuru Kenyatta at the expense of the ' Professor of Mathematics'
