Onething I have liked Moi for he was very true to him self ...,example he said to his deputy that leadership is different from friendship,n he said that does not mean they r enemies though he knew saitoti wanted to be the president but he lacked the qualities.,he also endorsed the Pearson he thought would be the next president publicly n fearlessly ...sio Kama sai we do not know the exact position of our president na ndio maana siasi zimetuandama hivi.....he was an advisor.,he advised those that wanted to proceed after him specifically he told them to build a strong political foundation that will embrace peace in the country unfortunately i suggest that they have failed in that part .,a good leader is known in what people say about him we see that even his opposition were saying that he was wise n string n I quite railas father that said moi saw as far as a giraffe ,this are the kind of leaders we need patriotic and courageous ... this man was a real Patriot n a lover to his country RIP mzee

PEOPLE SHOULD UNDERSTAND few things. 1. Moi was a president in the 80's
and 90's, an era that saw OVERTHROWING of governments across Africa,
South America and Asia, courtesy of America's ECONOMIC HITMEN. During
that period a host of countries experienced CIVIL UNREST/ WAR, ECONOMIC
COLLAPSE and CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT, All these sponsored by the US and
EU. Kenya was the ONLY Country in East and Central Africa that enjoyed
ENDURING PEACE. Thanks to Moi. Kenya was among the few countries IN
AFRICA That could AFFORD TO SEND PEACE KEEPING MISSIONS TO WAR TORN
COUNTRIES in Africa and Asia. places like Eritrea, Namibia, Liberia,
Somali, Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, East Timor, among others. 1982 COUP
attempt was kind of things that brought countries to their knees but Moi
being African State Man managed to Hold Kenya Up and our beloved
country didn't SINK IN A HOLE that swallowed many countries. May Moi's
    Soul Rest in Peace.

Moi was a colossal. Holding a country emerging from the shackles of colonialism, a multipolar world and unending wars and coups in neighbouring countries is a no mean feat. Moi read the signs of time. He repealed section 2A for multiparty politics in early 1990s, when the cold war was ending, with the fall of Berlin wall and the fall of the Soviet Union.
In the economic front, he controlled inflationary pressures, and the cost of living was low. Kenya was not mortgaged to other countries and other financial institutions with expensive loans.
Under Moi, education still held the promise of a bright future and patriotism was instilled from a young age.
Time has vincated him, with his timeless words, "Mtanikumbuka".
Rest in perpetual peace Baba Moi.

President Moi, to me was a great leader, because I was a teenager during his leadership. I'm a lost boy of Sudan but I was lucky to have a cousin who was a professor at Moi University, Eldoret Main Campus. The Margaret Thatcher Library was built while when I was there. Dr. A. M Chol is my cousin and we used to go to N'geria Primary School. Why? It's complicated. Anyways, N'gerria Primery turned out to be the school I like but my little cousin Gabriel didn't. John Bor was our headmaster and Mr. Isigi, known as "shika maskio" by students was the devil but I admired his commitment. Rainy days and walking on gumboots isn't how a student should go to school, but we did because we wanted to learn....

We should learn from Mois n Odinga's short merger to never put emotions into politics..even after he was detained for 9yrs he still had the guts to shake the hand of his oppressor

Urafkiki ni urafiki lakini, a country is a country and most leaders seem to to think with their head instead of their hearts. I loved Daniel Toroitich arap Moi because he led with his.heart. He may be dead but his spirit still lingers around, just Dr. John Garrang's.
-East Africa, we MUST UNITE. Self-greed may get you a mansion but great leadership shall reverberate across the land in years to come.
-**A leader is one who stands up when a nation is faced with a calamiy such as Covid-19. A great leader always maintain peace wherever there is a tribal conflict and provide hope when the citizens need it the most. Those are the qualities of a great leader and Mzee did all that except he corruption part. You know, kitu kidogo is always kitu kidogo unless we all unite and treat each other as jamii or family. All those kicks I endured that night because I did not have kitu kidogo stay with me and me ribs. Just never let this happen to any refugee, especially from Kakuma Refugee Camp. They are my people and so are you. Please, stay safe and always be Kind.
