Every thing is a step back apart from graphics and scale. The weapon and explosion sounds really unsatisfying in 2042.. you can only hear bass.. it's such a grind running around looking for action.. you constantly feel exposed with giant plain maps.. as an individual you are even more irrelevant... Don't get me started on lack of scoreboard so there is nothing to aim for, which is a MUST in an online comparative game period... The AIs are dumb as hell.. and gives you no's satisfaction killing them.. I can go on forever...
2042 definitely is sharper and clearer image quality in some areas, but I think BF4 overall is more aesthetically pleasing, plus still looks damn amazing.
The way the air fogs over the jet's wings as they make a hard turn is the kinds of small details I was hoping to see in a new BF game. Glad to see they at least got that right, even if they got so much else so very very wrong.
Actually this dude seems to be running like mega shaders for 4 it does not look ANYTHING like that for me (or having minimum settings matters for bf 4 but it’s one of the 2)

Battlefield 4 terrible got polished into a masterpiece over time. 2042 doesn’t have an excuse to have a bad start, especially after nearly a decade and at least three other games before it
Damn, after 8 years BF4 is still one great masterpiece of a modern first person shooter. The graphics are insane because it has that Frostbite 3 Engine which BF2042 probably uses, but the animations of the weapons are smoother than the weapons in BF2042.
Battlefield 4 is still a better game, even with smaller graphics, but with much superior mechanics both in gameplay and in menu issues, technically, equipment audio, immersion, anyway, Battlefield 4 is still sitting on the throne of the best Battlefield and by your side right sits Battlefield 3.
Battlefield 2042 has a better graphics but Battlefield 4 has a better gameplay, it has lots of more weapons and attachments, kits, classes, naval warfare, emblem customization, more and more witch Battlefield 2042 doesn't have or as much as Battlefield 4 has. so it is sad... You are correct but, battlefield 2042 is a live service game and will be getting much more post launch content later down the line. By the time the next battlefield comes out, 2042 might have the most content out of any other prior battlefield game.

2042 animation and atmosphere feels really off me, feels like cod in a lot of ways. Bf4 was perfect in the end no sliding, no reloading while aiming down sights just a classic battlefield game. Why they they ruin 2042. Just keep everything from bf4 but with upgrades graphics that is all that was needed to make a new battlefield game

Everytime I load up BF4, I think to myself "wow this game is really 9 years old?" Battlefield has always been one of those franchises that pushes the visuals. So 2042 being a graphical downgrade from BFV is embarrassing.
On one hand this really does put in to perspective just how much graphics have actually improved, you can only really appreciate it when watching them side by side, on the other hand it makes me appreciate just how well Bf4 has aged, what a good game. For those who have been waiting for 8 years like me, for a quality that is not so bad compared to the game from 2013 this is too bad, I still want to buy BF4 over BF2042
3:42 perfectly displays one of my biggest issues with the game, and that’s art direction/ mood. Bf4 is gritty, serious, and feels like war. 2042 looks like Fortnite. Doesn’t even matter to me about graphic fidelity at this point, BF4 delivered an overall better presentation with its superior atmosphere, sound design, look, and destructible environments. 2042 was a big disappointment.
That's just untrue For BFV they recorded real explosions, at different ranges in different environments and translated that into the game Theyve taken those sound effects, and the ones worth keeping from BF4 So ultimately we've got the culmination of all the best sound design in the series in one game. I don't have the game or even saw much comparison but at least the 2142 beta I actually prefer how it sounds cleaner than the traditional BF over exaggerated cinematic sound effects which already give me a big headache... But the game it self I prefer a lot BF3 and BF4 however portal is really looking good but I haven't tried it. However I have a friend who owns the game and told me the sound is bad but it's not the quality of the sound but rather the sound effects them self, he told me like a M1 Garand and many weapons sound almost the same, but I have no idea, didn't even search for it yet on videos. I hope the guns sound like how the weapons should, but in terms of quality it self I prefer how much cleaner it is, I really hope is that they don't make almost all weapons sounding too similar or I would be disappointed like my friend said👎
Absolutely I play it on a HiFi home theater system and it's so underwhelming.. all you hear is bass in weapons and they all sound same... The sound in BFV is sooo much batter.. I would say for me personally sound is like 50% part of the fun... Severely disappointed 😞
@@HasNiHassaan I play on 5.1 too, and the normal beta sounds to me are cleaner than before, since like BF3 or even BC, can't even remember the game has HUGE massive echoes and effects all over the place which I hate and the new sounds cleaner. But yeah about the guns sounding wrong is probably even worse ☹️ Anyway I can't say I really like how any of those BF games sound that much, it sure was cool back in BF3 and BF4 but now it's just too much fake cinematics for me and the new one even though it's cleaner it's not that powerful either☹️. Also 4 many time the explosions on BF sound like puff to me. An actual good sounding game is something like Post Scriptum realistic FPS, now guns truly sound Powerful and explosions give me a big bang that shakes my whole room and it sounds like I'm in the middle of a real war, the game also feature realistic physics and speed of sound all calculated, the localized VOIP is also amazing and sounds like talking with people in real life with good quality and no effects added and distances and location very well represented.

I actually think the graphics are worse due to how poorly they've designed the maps, the colors, etc. I looks like someone slightly improved the engine, but all the designers left the studio and freshmen took over...
BF4 was not perfect at launch as well, so we couldn't say BF4 is better, yet. But we should give BF2042 some time. But I hope this is the last time DICE releases a game unfinished and buggy.

Gameplay wise BF4 is still superior in some important aspect .Movement,class dynamic and gunplay in BF4 is on point while the vehicles design in general and the dynamic between different type of vehicle in BF2042 is better without a doubt But it's still troubled me how after more than a decade of experience through BF3 and BF4 ,DICE still can't properly balance the gunplay in a modern Battlefield game .
I thought the same thing, but then it made sense when I found out the experience has been lost. 2042's dice is nowhere near BF3's or BF4's, most of the old staff has left. Which still doesn't excuse it, they have 2 fully playable games to study.
If they still have the source code to BF4, they can port it to the improved engine and basically have a remaster. I would love to see a map with the tornado and sandstorm in the remaster, as well as some new weapons and maps.

Can you still identify which tank is driving past you by the engine sound? In 3 I could easily distinguish between Abrams and T90 (and therefore survive!)
Not sure if I should be either impressed or disappointed at DICE. How can an 8 year old game, in some aspects, be better than their recent title? Will still give 2042 a shot, but everyone should wait until they fix the issues. Like there's a reason why I'm a 140 General, in BF4, because it's the best MP shooter ever made.
BF2042 is on a much larger scale and some small details are nice to have but they got rid of it so the performance is better. Overall the game looks so much better even tho BF4 still looks good. The Release version is also so much better than the Beta and most Maps are really good. It can be as good as BF3 or BF4.
Bf2042 objectively looks better than bf4 and has more advanced effects. But you can tell they got a little lazy with the lighting because they just relied too heavily on the raytracing effects to handle all of it. There’s no atmosphere. Bf4 objectively has better sound design. That’s why all the work put into bf4 counts that much more.
BF4 is incredible compared to BF2042, espicially considering that one was made almost a decade ago. The main things BF2042 is better at just has to do with the fact that computers and game engines can handle more detail.
After almost 20 hours on BF2042 I went back to BF4....cant believe they fucked up the atmosphere we used to know. The maps feel so large yet so empty its frustrating

4K DLSS Balanced at 85 to 110 fps with dips at most to the 70s on a 3080/9900k combo with a mix of ultra and high settings (mostly ultra). IMO pretty good and super smooth.

When I played the beta version, BF2042 was fuckin bullshit. One of the worst optimization I've ever seen in my life. I haven't tried recently it but I can say, BF4 is simply the perfect person shooter: with dlcs you have tons of maps, guns, vehicles... Idk how is 2042, but is very difficult to reach the result of BF4. Maybe the game was broken at the beginning, but today is still a masterpiece. And if I say that, a person who detest multiplayer shooters in general, is a lot. Only problem of BF4 multiplayer is that the people who plays that game is usually very strong, so it isn't a game for casual people. You have to be skilled.
I started playing BF4 in 2020, there is no nostalgia here. The vehicles, especially the jets, plays much better. Its only minus is the graphics and fewer gadgets compared to BF2042

As to bf4 had alot of destruction if they would've added the destruction from bf4 with the real life effects then it would be worth while. Back that day in 2014 I consider BF4 as the best graphic in any FPS genre that ever made and it is still today... to compare the newest one like holy akbor,every Crew that made BF4 really filled with passion just to made it single game.
In terms of graphics, Battlefield 2042 has a better shader and more effects overall, however the destruction physics i have to award battlefield 4. And for multiplayer, SCREW battlefield 2042
the graphics are undoubtedly better in bf2042. The sound/visual feedback is worse though. Good example is the tank shots, in bf4 the sound is more visceral and the recoil looks visually more satisfying.. in a less "floaty" and sluggish looking way.
BF4 graphics might not look as good from a technical standpoint, but the art direction and map layout lead to a much better overall package. SO MANY PLACES in bf2042 look artificial and bare compared to the lived in feeling of bf4
Funny how bf4 is so much better, no latency or input issues, probably even better graphics, no game breaking glitches or rendering issues, and you don’t need a console you cant find anywhere to play the whole game!
Ill continue playing bf4 for a little bit longer, i dont think ill consider to buy this game until august 2022 at least. BF4 gives me the battlefield experience that I enjoy the most.
Tried 2042 in the 10 hours EA pass trial.....no way playing it I will still play BF4. Its a mess. Bad gameplay, no classes, shitty specialists, the worst optimization I ever seen.....no way men.

The older “remade” bf maps in bf2042 look worse than bf1. Poor textures everywhere. Even the newer ones have gross looking textures , was not impressed. It’s baffling how bland and average looking they look.
Maps don't always have to be set in war-torn environments. Both games have perfect environments for where they are meant to be in. Colorful ≠ Cartoonish Dark ≠ Realistic Unless of course you go to Ireland or France and are just instantly thinking "Wow! I am in Fortnite!"

Look at BF4 we had Carbines, DMRs, Shotguns + the Special Weapon Type only Accesable to the specific class (LMGs, MPs, ARs, Sniper Rifles). And we had many different types of Weapons atleast 8+ without the DLC Weapons in each of the above named categories.
I like the HE explosion smoke and dust effects but there's a stupid amount of fire for no reason in the HE explosion. also how do you make a 30mm cannon not sound like a 30mm cannon? How's that even possible? I like the swim animation on BF4 more seems a lot better than 2042 Palm trees react better to wind in BF4 but 2042's tree branches reaction take the cake on the same category

Everytime I load up BF4, I think to myself "wow this game is really 9 years old?"
Battlefield has always been one of those franchises that pushes the visuals.
So 2042 being a graphical downgrade from BFV is embarrassing.
On one hand this really does put in to perspective just how much graphics have actually improved, you can only really appreciate it when watching them side by side, on the other hand it makes me appreciate just how well Bf4 has aged, what a good game.
And on another...it makes me disappointed by how many features HAVENT been improved upon in 2042, seriously, what's up with destruction?

3:42 perfectly displays one of my biggest issues with the game, and that’s art direction/ mood.
Bf4 is gritty, serious, and feels like war. 2042 looks like Fortnite. Doesn’t even matter to me about graphic fidelity at this point, BF4 delivered an overall better presentation with its superior atmosphere, sound design, look, and destructible environments.
2042 was a big disappointment.

I don't have the game or even saw much comparison but at least the 2142 beta I actually prefer how it sounds cleaner than the traditional BF over exaggerated cinematic sound effects which already give me a big headache...
But the game it self I prefer a lot BF3 and BF4 however portal is really looking good but I haven't tried it.
However I have a friend who owns the game and told me the sound is bad but it's not the quality of the sound but rather the sound effects them self, he told me like a M1 Garand and many weapons sound almost the same, but I have no idea, didn't even search for it yet on videos.
I hope the guns sound like how the weapons should, but in terms of quality it self I prefer how much cleaner it is, I really hope is that they don't make almost all weapons sounding too similar or I would be disappointed like my friend said👎
Absolutely I play it on a HiFi home theater system and it's so underwhelming.. all you hear is bass in weapons and they all sound same... The sound in BFV is sooo much batter..
I would say for me personally sound is like 50% part of the fun... Severely disappointed 😞
@@HasNiHassaan I play on 5.1 too, and the normal beta sounds to me are cleaner than before, since like BF3 or even BC, can't even remember the game has HUGE massive echoes and effects all over the place which I hate and the new sounds cleaner.

Anyway I can't say I really like how any of those BF games sound that much, it sure was cool back in BF3 and BF4 but now it's just too much fake cinematics for me and the new one even though it's cleaner it's not that powerful either☹️.
Also 4 many time the explosions on BF sound like puff to me. An actual good sounding game is something like Post Scriptum realistic FPS, now guns truly sound Powerful and explosions give me a big bang that shakes my whole room and it sounds like I'm in the middle of a real war, the game also feature realistic physics and speed of sound all calculated, the localized VOIP is also amazing and sounds like talking with people in real life with good quality and no effects added and distances and location very well represented.
BF 2042 doesn’t seem like an upgrade or a new shooter. It looks incomplete of rushed. BF4 is still a better game in my opinion

The maps are so barren and lifeless, it's a waste of nice graphics.
I actually think the graphics are worse due to how poorly they've designed the maps, the colors, etc. I looks like someone slightly improved the engine, but all the designers left the studio and freshmen took over...
BF4 was not perfect at launch as well, so we couldn't say BF4 is better, yet. But we should give BF2042 some time. But I hope this is the last time DICE releases a game unfinished and buggy.

Gameplay wise BF4 is still superior in some important aspect .Movement,class dynamic and gunplay in BF4 is on point while the vehicles design in general and the dynamic between different type of vehicle in BF2042 is better without a doubt
But it's still troubled me how after more than a decade of experience through BF3 and BF4 ,DICE still can't properly balance the gunplay in a modern Battlefield game .
I thought the same thing, but then it made sense when I found out the experience has been lost. 2042's dice is nowhere near BF3's or BF4's, most of the old staff has left. Which still doesn't excuse it, they have 2 fully playable games to study.

If they still have the source code to BF4, they can port it to the improved engine and basically have a remaster. I would love to see a map with the tornado and sandstorm in the remaster, as well as some new weapons and maps.

Bf2042 objectively looks better than bf4 and has more advanced effects. But you can tell they got a little lazy with the lighting because they just relied too heavily on the raytracing effects to handle all of it. There’s no atmosphere. Bf4 objectively has better sound design. That’s why all the work put into bf4 counts that much more.

4K DLSS Balanced at 85 to 110 fps with dips at most to the 70s on a 3080/9900k combo with a mix of ultra and high settings (mostly ultra). IMO pretty good and super smooth.

When I played the beta version, BF2042 was fuckin bullshit. One of the worst optimization I've ever seen in my life. I haven't tried recently it but I can say, BF4 is simply the perfect person shooter: with dlcs you have tons of maps, guns, vehicles... Idk how is 2042, but is very difficult to reach the result of BF4. Maybe the game was broken at the beginning, but today is still a masterpiece. And if I say that, a person who detest multiplayer shooters in general, is a lot. Only problem of BF4 multiplayer is that the people who plays that game is usually very strong, so it isn't a game for casual people. You have to be skilled.
I started playing BF4 in 2020, there is no nostalgia here. The vehicles, especially the jets, plays much better. Its only minus is the graphics and fewer gadgets compared to BF2042

Back that day in 2014 I consider BF4 as the best graphic in any FPS genre that ever made and it is still today... to compare the newest one like holy akbor,every Crew that made BF4 really filled with passion just to made it single game.
In terms of graphics, Battlefield 2042 has a better shader and more effects overall, however the destruction physics i have to award battlefield 4. And for multiplayer, SCREW battlefield 2042

the graphics are undoubtedly better in bf2042. The sound/visual feedback is worse though. Good example is the tank shots, in bf4 the sound is more visceral and the recoil looks visually more satisfying.. in a less "floaty" and sluggish looking way.
2042 tank shots have a good ring to them, you can hear the echo's in the distance etc. the glock sounds meh though.

Look at BF4 we had Carbines, DMRs, Shotguns + the Special Weapon Type only Accesable to the specific class (LMGs, MPs, ARs, Sniper Rifles). And we had many different types of Weapons atleast 8+ without the DLC Weapons in each of the above named categories.
