For some reasons your videos are very relaxing to me like ASMR but for guitars. I'm glad you're enjoying it and the price is a steal for a guitar of this quality.
I have the 'thin line' version. Of all the guitars I've ever had, this one is THE keeper for me. A fantastic unheralded instrument! The neck might be too small for some on the thin line, but I dig it!
@@guitarhobbywithdannythemedic I don't usually mind the neck construction but I think scarf joints can be pretty ugly sometimes. You can't even tell on these though. The curly maple they use is what really sold me. Can't stand veneer tops
@@Shiznitt_ I put practicality above pretty.. I would never try to hide a scarf joint because scarf joints are the better way to make if the angle is pretty steep. People keep worshiping the one piece gibson style that is inferior for no reason other than seeing other people worshiping it.. I think it is time to put reality first, and to combat the sheep mentality.
@@guitarhobbywithdannythemedic I've heard arguments on both sides and I haven't seen sufficient evidence to support the claims so I don't even care anymore. Some believe guitars with one piece necks tend to sound better but I say they were probably just made better to begin with. I've had luthiers tell me it doesn't matter as long as you have a quarter sawn piece of wood and the straighter/tighter the grain is the stronger, more stable it'll be. Scarf joints are mainly used to save on cost since you can make 2 necks with the same block a one piece neck would be made with. Gibson's problem is their headstock angels are too steep and the truss rod adjustment cavity is too large. That's why the headstock always breaks when they get dropped xD
@@Shiznitt_ lots of beliefs out there, but alotta those beliefs are just baloney and based on baloney.. baloney had been hard to disprove for a very long time, but nowadays thanks to youtube, lots and lots of experiments are being done that proves the stuff was baloney to begin with.. You're a medic, so you should know already, it is very bad to handle those PDI wipes without gloves. I work in healthcare, we use them all the time. This was such a fun video to watch!
@@guitarhobbywithdannythemedic good good :) just looking out. Lovely clean up job you did on this one. I'm curious about the pattern vintage profile (and if you've had a go at the pattern thin profile, if you like it for one reason or another over the other.)
And dirt under the lacquer. Evidently PRS is trying harder to 'compete' with Gibson. After a bath and a rubdown it looks beautiful, Danny. Congratulations!
I dont mind the dirt in the S2 line, I know they are made cheaper and in a hurry for the working muscians, so they can take them out of the house... those cores are so expensive, people dont take them out of the house.
I think the appeal of nitro (apart from sound debates) exactly is that it wears of quickly so it does make the guitar looked used/worn in (matter of taste) a beautiful way, just as indigo/blue jeans do.
Find some dirty magazines in the guitar bag pocket 😅😅😅😅😅Fun buying used guitars on line enjoyed cleaning a-couple up to like new again .just cleaned a gorgeous Fender Jazzmaster 2012 squire up it’s in fabulous condition under the dirt on it .that cane with it .Brother bough a PRS SE it was in a right state .cleaned up and polished beautifully.freaks we’re in great condition neck and fingerboard.must have been kept under the guys bed for years .😅😅😅
love the guitar. I have a Gretsch that must have nitro finish, cause it looks like someone butted out cigarettes on the neck where it is being held up. I need to do the wrap like that kind sir.
Since you seem to be an expert on this: how do you clean/sanitize an unfinished fretboard? Unfinished wood and water or alcohol don't go well together.
That stain on the bag looks suspicious. Definitely a good idea to sanitize it. Also, folks don't realize how nasty a used guitar can be, even one that's hung in a reputable shop for a while but been handled and played by many strangers.
So…I’ve been watching Guitar Hobby now, for a couple of weeks, just laughing at Danny’s total distain for Gibson’s QC, and consequent price point…BUT, have yet to see him play any guitar!!! Come on Danny, let’s see if you’re the real deal!
Nitro doesn't suck, all my guitars have nitro. People like nitro because it ages and checks. It also lets the wood breath a bit more than a cheap poly finish. Buy different hangers and you won't have to wrap it there's plenty of them out there that are safe for nitro.
@@guitarhobbywithdannythemedic damn thanks for telling me that my vintage Gibson's are rotting some of the finish has complety worn off, so I paint them? Are they already rotting? I'll just put one of those cheap poly finishes on them like the china guitars ..
If you'd like to build the ultimate super parts caster that makes fender and Gibson look like ugly boys in lady town... Try Warmoth parts. Truly next level.
Nitro is far superior to poly finishes. It’s supposed to patina, that’s the beauty of nitro on a guitar, they are ment to played and age just like people.
Wonder apart from showpiece artworks, what other use do those guitars on your wall have? On second thoughts, all that guitarists care about is proper intonation and action. Never heard you speak those words, must be lack of guitar vocabulary knowledge. You wouldn't find it in Grey's Anatomy!
There are a million other guitar channels about all that, all of them does a better job at all that stuff than I ever can, so why would I duplicate content? if you wanna see that OMG.. "jon is too loud" from singapore is a KILLER REVIEWER with his tone... HP42 have shitloads of amps, Guitaritas have more talk on fridays than anyone... So aside from showpieces of artwork? They are also a conversation starter too.. when girls come over, they be like oooo wow.. and then they say.. wheres the amp? and thats when the girls leave the apt!
Still waiting for your Gibson Unboxing video =)
Danny you're a priceless piece of work. Great video my friend.
Danny really appreciate your way of unboxing and cleaning. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure!
When you post your videos, you speak like you're speaking to a friend, this makes it always so nice to seee what you're up to.
Danny, your CSI skills are second to none! Please keep at it. You’re one of my favorites these days. :)
Wow, thanks!

Thank you for your time
OCD isn't such a bad thing at times , is it Danny. Looks great brother. You should of had a bath with the gig bag and saved on the hot water.
nooooooooo it was way stinky.. I would never have been able to wash that off me
WOW you did a darn good job cleaning/polishing that guitar.
Thank you!
Congrats for the new guitar!Hope you great times with her 😍
Once the stink goes away, i bet it would be the most liked of them all!
I like the ending the best, why why Nitro again??? lol. Great video for from the point of view of critical guitar hobbyist!!
Glad you liked it!
Nice buy Danny! Enjoy!
Thanks! Will do!

S2 is made better than the core in my opinion..I hate one piece necks
