Last year I saved up to get a brand new Gibson LP standard 60s model. Once I finally received it in the mail it came out of the box/case with a messed up nut that needed replaced. I was so hurt by this and haven’t trusted Gibson ever since. Fast forward a year later and I currently own 2 new Epiphone guitars (updated headstock models) and they both showed better quality control than Gibson! I feel happier playing my epiphones than I ever did with any gibsons I’ve ever played/owned. Especially for the price!
I have 3 Gibsons but Danny is cracking me up.😂 I don’t have a Les Paul though. I have several friends who have had to send Les Pauls back for being junk. My tech here in Singapore tells me that his clients have to bring in Custom Shop guitars for set-ups when they arrive because some of them arrive unplayable - part of that is the different climate here but still, that’s worrying. Zero complaints from my end about my 336, 359 and Firebird though - my favourite guitars!
How about trying the Heritage les paul type. They are made in the same factory in Michigan where the original ones were made. They are not cheap but I have not heard a lot of complaints about them.
Gibson stole my girlfriend too. Les Paul can have her. I found new girlfriends. Ibanez, Yamaha, and a Mexican girlfriend called Strat. She's a healthy fat Strat too. My next girlfriend going to be Yamaha...her first name is Revstar. As soon as I save up $800.00 I can take her out for a date. Her big sister cost $2000.00 She is out of my league for now but they say both are better than girl I lost to Les Paul. I do like his gravestone though.
When i first became interested in learning to play a guitar, all i wanted was a Fender Strat just like Hank Marvins, only one problem, i couldn't afford one. That was back in the early 70's, in the UK they were very expensive, few people had well paid jobs back then. Fastforward to the early 90's, i now had the money to buy a USA Strat, but when i started looking for one i was shocked, trying to find a good blemish free sample in the colour i wanted with a Rosewood neck seemed to be asking too much, all the local shops just said good luck, most of them have faults! So Fender are just as guilty as Gibson for not caring about the quality of what leaves the factory. After many months of searching, i found a dealer called Cranes, who had a batch of USA Strats arriving soon, they kept all the ones in Candy Apple Red for me to inspect, out of 5 only one was blemish free and even that needed a full setup, which they did for me. So i understand how Danny feels, the big names just don't give a damn about customer satisfaction. Today i would't waste my time or money on Fender guitars, when you see just how much better the likes of Sire are at half the price, why pay a high price for substandard guitars?
@@guitarhobbywithdannythemedic a great value is Reverend. I’ve owned 7 or 8 over the years and they are excellent quality. If you don’t mind the slightly off body shapes they are great. I play them all the time in my videos.
Please never stop 'talking bad about Gibson', Danny... You rock 🤘
It's not complaining... it is consumer advocacy. Thanks Danny , keep fighting the good fight and telling the truth.
Good stuff Danny! A suggestion: try out a Heritage LP. I would be very interested in your opinion on one. Keep it up!

Somebody needs to pressure Gibson into getting their act together. Keep doing what you do. 🤘

Man U should become a poet
I just found out $650 Epiphone guitars cost more here in USA too about $100 to $150 more here as in England the same guitar cost 400 to 500
And we are forbidden to them for European prices w t f ?
thomann have excellent prices on epiphones
Not for us we aren't allowed to buy them they won't ship you one if you live in the USA
Keep it up. I feast on the tears of butthurt Gibson fanboys.
