The only time I ever go to TGP is for the PG mystery stocking thread. Sharing in the misery of getting the same ugly Fender strap 3 years in a row, and a pack of strings, makes the whole thing for it.
I never get anything good but I usually feel like I got my money's worth. This year there were only 3 things in it. I looked up each item and added up the price and I could have bought them for less than what the box cost me. I keep saying I'm out but this is the last year I'll ever buy one. Completely waste of money for most people unless you're one of the few lucky people that get something of worth
Mystery stockings or mystery boxes ? First time i hear / read about those, must be something U.S. specific, never seen in Europe.. Thanx for this presentation, learned something new!
This year, my mystery box was really sad. Do not break the $45 mark. The best thing was a cheap Fender strap and was on sale for $10 on Fender website 😔
I could also see it falling under gambling laws in some places, but I suspect the biggest reason is for simplicity of calculating shipping costs - steve
Yeah, US customer protection laws suck, but that's not the reason why they're limited, it's 1000% shipping costs or something. As evidenced by the fact that Gatcha games and mystery boxes are rampant in many other areas, the problems with US consumer protection is a lot deeper than "oh no, I made a stupid impulse purchase, why didn't the government stop me!?!!"
My yearly Premier Guitar mystery stocking. Got the camo daddario locking strap, the nasty fender strap and a clip on tuner….. I’ll be back next year for the $45 lotto ticket 🤞
last year I got two sets of strings, both expensive ($20 + $15) and ones I'll never buy, picks and and larger button thingy. I WIL NEVER buy this crap again
You can't stop buying the box of sad?...sounds like you might have gambling issues..but you didn't say how often you buy and it's for your channel so....
I got a Mastro (Gibson) fuzz pedal this year!
I don’t know about the rest of this community but I’d love to see more videos with Steve not just podcast episodes 😀
Your presenting skills seem to jumped up a level

"Box of Sad"...is my new band name :) (if I lived in Ireland it would be... Box O'Sad)

Interesting. I haven’t seen any boxes coming in at less than $40 total value though. What else was in there? - steve
Ordering stuff without the element of mystery is plenty gamble enough for me.
Daddario auto lock straps are my fav.
It’s a gamble to try to win the expensive items, but you at least get some stuff out of it that’s worth about $45.
Limited to US only because all the other countries have consumer protection laws that protects people from being disappointed with their purchase.

This reminds me of real life Loot Boxes it dose look like gambling to be honest
Hey that's not so bad this time around!
Steve: My only advice is that mystery boxes can be hazardous to your wallet! 😅thanks 🤘
I think I'd rather save up for 2 years and buy a guitar for $90.
Squier Debut, actually a solid buy.
I already have so much redundant/never will use gear crap I need to put together some mystery stockings.
Imagine getting the Mesa 🤌🏻
I imagine you getting the Mesa...
@@ousley421 looool 🤣 luckily I didn't buy one.

I can't even get a box of sad. How sad.
last year I got two sets of strings, both expensive ($20 + $15) and ones I'll never buy, picks and and larger button thingy. I WIL NEVER buy this crap again
Yeah, I'd rather just buy 45 dollars worth of strings.
At least then you get the strings you want -Steve
Medium sad.
