Looks great! My only concern is that I don’t know how well these reels are sealed. I see that Daiwa doesn’t use the term ‘ipx’ when advertising their reels waterproofing. Any idea of how well these reels will hold to a good splash when wading? Thanks 🙏🏽
The tool can get made locally but they're very expensive. If you're going to be opening lots of them then it's worth it, otherwise send them to us and we can service them.
How come your bg mq’s are black and gold in color compared to the new bg mq’s that are out right now that comes in black and sliver ? I prefer the the black and gold. I can’t find them online I am looking to purchase
Ours were custom ordered from Daiwa like that. You will only find them like this in South Africa. BUT you can buy them online through our store and we ship globally with FedEx. Here is our store: www.kingfisher.co.za/product/daiwa-bg-mq-spinning-reel/
How do you compare these to 6k and 8k are they both same size? I have the old version of BG 5K and Iam loving it. I need another one for my 10 footer rod sir that’s close to my old BG 5K. Please advise thanks.
Do they come with any tools to access the side plate so you can service it yourself ? I want to buy one but not if i have to send it to Diawa to have it serviced .
We don't get the Daiwa BG RR LT in South Africa so we couldn't give you a fair suggestion. We do stock the BG Magsealed and we do really love that reel for both salt water and sweet water. Great reel.
now the daiwa doing the samething as shimano das, they change the medole of the spool, the 6000-10000/14000-18000/20000.they like what we used to call 4000-6000-8000? it is like that?
But Shimano change the gearing, 8000HG fast, 10000pg slow, 14000xg fastest. If the gearing and weight is the same just buy the biggest spool incase you get snapped off 100metrea of line
Nice to have. I've used the same reel on the river boat since 2005 and got it as a hand me down. Still going strong.
That's awesome to hear, thanks for sharing.
Great value and reliable. Manual bail closure is easy and the drag silky smooth. I use the 14000 model with high gear.
Oh yeah! That monocoque body is a game changer, really nice grinder power. Tight lines!
I'll wait till the saltist mq comes in💪
Great review man.
Nice 🔥🔥🔥
7:39 Checked the schematics, it appears that the 14000 has more drag washers than the 10000?

Any odea if we are we allowed to buy the tool to open the side plate? And at what price?

The top of the spool is it made out of plastic ?

Hi Dave, No. The servicing gets done by The Kingfisher or your nearest Tackle Shop. There is very few moving parts behind that plate.
Thankyou for the feedback cheers . @@TheKingfisherFishing
Where can i get one of those handles?
Very Very nice 👌 reels, is the 6500 the smallest ?
👊👍
Yes the Daiwa BG MQ 6000 is the smallest we will be seeing in SA.
Daiwa BG MAGSEALED 4000 compair with Daiwa BG RR LT 5000 WHICH ONE IS BETTER IN BOTH SALT WATER AND SWEET WATER PURPOSE
PLS TELL YOUR SUGGESTION

How much 50lb would the 20000 take?
It all depends on the diameter of the line: It will take 400m of 0.42mm 80lb braid. 50lb would be 0.36mm so at a guess I'd say 500m maybe more.

Correct, the sizing numbers have changed to that of Shimano.

@@miker5740 thx,the spool size and gearing they aren't two diferente things?
@@一友难求不二人生 they are different things but Shimano put different gears on the different spool sizes
@@miker5740 aha, that's much better for more opinion

Dear fishermen, who knows from which model of Daiwa the spool will fit on Daiwa BG MQ 3000D-XH?
