Yep your pricing sounds like what I'm seeing on auctions currently too. Some amazing ones surface off and on that have been sitting in private collections, unseen for many decades. When i began collecting in 1994 many of the wickedest pieces were already behind glass. Some gems do surface from great grandpa's attic still though. I got my 3-barrel WWII black crackle at the local transfer station (garbage dump). It was literally lying at my feet, having spilled out of a can of old nuts and bolts. It's completely original, about 90% paint, really no rust. Must have been in a dry place! They must have heard me yell all the way to the office there. What are the freakin odds of a Zippo hound finding that piece. Yeah, let's come up with a great process for making our own '41 RED CRACKLE!!!
I have a 1940's noloose Zippo with a 3 barrel hinge and was wondering how rare and how valuable it might be? It had matching insert and maybe a 6.5 out of 10 condition.please let me know...thanx
My girl's Dad had one of those his job on the Aircraft carrier disarming 3,000 pound bombs on the deck of the carrier they where straight runways back then the Roosevelt Seaman Willy Simard !!! Great Guy !!!!!
this week my first zippo is getting delivered(vintage look chrome with slashes). Basically brand new, because the seller only used it for two months and then put it in a drawer. Got it for half of the retail price with basically only two fills of use :) Im getting two chrome zippo´s from ´88 and ´89 later, also for a steal.
I just buy a zippo with a rugby player engraving on the metal from the year 1999 ( A XV), I tried to look for it on the internet but I couldn't find it, do you know if this design was ever made? Saludos desde Mérida, Yucatán, México
It’d be cool to see a gun metal 1935 replica. I’m also waiting for zippo to make a red crackle 41. There’s nothing stopping them from making it so idk why they haven’t already. Wish I owned all of these zippos 😂
Can you tell me if you know anything about a zippo that was made for the Buffalo Slag Companuly from Buffalo New York. Date suggests sometime between 1937 to 1950
I have one of the steel case 1951 zippos that I use every day with a zippo butane insert. I also have another with the original steel insert and the Hamilton Lumber Company advertising on it in great condition. Paid $90 for the pair in 2011 or so. I got lucky.
I only have 6 zippo's however one of them is a commemorative 1932 on left side of bottom and 1982 on right side. Brass case with the angled lines on the top and bottom of the case halves. It is in very nice condition. Really like this lighter.
