Just what i needed, just bought my first diesel and shes just like your 806. Drove her home with whiny steering and similar leaks to yours but she made it. Your in depth info will be extremely helpful as i start fixing her up-
Hey Andy. New sub and liked your MCV pump video. It’d made my life easier if I could have watched it about 20 years ago... greetings from Norrheast Ohio
Good day Andy, excellent video I have a 866 with steering problems could be this MCV pump the problem? Where did you buy the parts could you share the web page thanks a lot
What problems are you having? I don't remember exactly what page I bought it from but its was this brand pump. www.hy-capacity.com/hydraulic/mcv-pumps/pid8161/mcv-hydraulic-pump/
@@AndyFromm I don't know what "TA" means ( mabe you're talking about the thing who lift the implements) it works correctly and the PTO works correctly the breaks I am not sure
Are you talking the one that runs the 3pt and valves on back? I'm about to release a general one but it doesn't go into much detail on that. Does your pto work?
Was that spring you installed on the lower right, part of a check valve or pressure regulator? Was there supposed to be a steel ball with it? Thanks for the great vid.
Thank you for making this video. Started using an 856 that had sat for many years. Steering makes loud noises and can feel a pulse or a jerk in the wheel (kind of feels like a fish biting ;-)) Once, fluid came out around the steering wheel, which actually seemed to alleviate the symptoms for a bit. Some of the noise seems to emanate from the top of the tractor, directly behind the steering wheel. Does it sound like I need a new MCV? Any tips for diagnosing the issue?
It could be an issue with the steering pilot valve just above the mcv or maybe seals in the steering cylinder. I haven't had to dig into mine that far yet so I am not sure.
Exactly the same. 706-3688 are basically the same in that area. The only difference is some 86-88's have a "supercharger" line that precharges the mcv off the power beyond on the hitch pump.

good to know andy,,,,your vids are better than any maintenance book,,,,,cheers
Lol, thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate it.
Keep up the good work
Thanks
I have a IH 544 with a weak hydraulic pump. Is this the same hydraulic pump that you're installing that I need to buy for my IH544?
That would be the other pump, this one is for steering & brakes. The main pump on an 806 looks like it interchanges with yours

Do you have any videos on the aux hydraulics? Lift pump I think it’s called. I have almost no hydraulic pressure.

To be honest, I don't know. I just put it back where I found it. I didn't see a ball. I might have to look in the book when I get time. Thanks

I'm not for sure, it could be air working out of the system. With fluid coming out of places, it could probably use some new seals. Good luck
Ive had my mcv valve revuilt, new pump, new steering unit but still unable to steer, not enough steering hyd pressure
It could be an issue with the steering pilot valve just above the mcv or maybe seals in the steering cylinder. I haven't had to dig into mine that far yet so I am not sure.
Good day So this pump is used for ta, power steering ? What did that pump cost? Boy next step is rear seal. She will be like new when finish Thanks
$300 usd to my door in Minnesota, I've been busy doing some other stuff lately but rear seal is next.
Morning Andy I have IH 674. Do you know is the pump behind the filter ? Can't find a
video on replacing it
I'm sorry, I don't know anything about them and the ih website doesn't show. I will try to keep an eye of if I run across one.
Would a 966 International be near the same process?

You should chase all those bolts with a wrench
That would be a good, thanks 👍
