You bet, great channel with interesting content!
It was a rather small turbo prop that we had to load, it was nothing like loading an A320 or 737!
The 320 is a common type rating with no additional training required.
You do have to be aware of the increased tail length so you don’t hit the tail on a 321 and there are other minor differences between all 3 variants.
Unlike the type rating on the 767 which also gives you the type rating on the 757 after a short differences course. And vice versa. 😊

Many probably underestimate the importance of securing the cargo well like you did, so it stays put, doesn't slide down the hold, and thus doesn't throw off the aircraft's Center of Gravity by a dangerous amount.

    • @ladyandtheramp

Yes! So each bag is designated as 34lbs. Except if they are marked “heavy”, their weight is calculated at 55 lbs.
We have a weight and balance sheet with a load plan for each flight that we adhere to. We know how many bags are needed in each compartment to keep that plane weighted correctly for that specific flight.

The A 319 is the most powerful short haul airplane. When it comes to short runways and landing on high alitude airports. Druk Air from Bhutan are flying the A 319 to and from Paro airport. Elevation is 6.600 feet above sealevel and the runway is only 1.600 meters long. Behind the runway there are the Himalaya mountains reaching up into the sky. So they have to use maximum thrust in thin air to get up and make a nice right curf to avoid contact with the mountains. No other aircraft was able to do that performance there. Druk Air tested 5 different types. The A 319 was the best. So think about that next time when you push that climber back. What a remarkable aircraft that is. Made in Mobile Alabama....
