  • Do's and Don't's before you use an InBody machine to measure your body composition. Making sure you truly have an empty stomach was a BIG lesson for us.

    1. Don't workout or shower before you do it
    2. Drinking or eating right before
    3. make sure you do it in an empty stomach, first thing in the morning.

    Thank you for this! Just had a similar scenario -- bodyfat increased, muscle went down, 2-3 lbs each way. Now I understand exactly what happened. Great explanation!!!!

    The geniuses from inbody made it really challenging to find start test on your phone app .. in fact I still can't find it

    Impedance sometimes show very different results without anything in the belly. Sometimes it shows me 7-8% fat and then 12% fat in exactly the same conditions. The one digit number is wrong for sure.

    Clothes affect the scanning?

    They say water an hour before test in the morning is okay. You’re just flat out recommending nothing before the exam? Can’t wait to see the difference. My BF stayed the same last month from February and I think that’s why. I woke up that morning drank 16oz of water and unfortunately had some adult drink the night before which I’m sure affected things as well. Not this time tho! Gonna be completely empty.

      Water an hour or more before the scan should be fine. By then it's had time to empty out of your stomach and move into your muscles and organs. Good luck with your next one and hope you see some progress!

      Can't keep everyone engaged with storytelling I guess.🤷‍♀ Hope you still learned something and glad you made it through 75% of the video before saving yourself the last 60 seconds.😉

    What about having caffeine so you can get out of bed? How does that affect it?>

      Great question. Caffeine is a diuretic which causes dehydration, pulling water out of your muscle cells. That will impact test results, showing you have a bit less muscle mass than you actually do. It's best not to have any caffeine within 3 hours of your scan.

      I did my inbody on a 14 hour fast no water no food or anything and it said I gained zero muscle and gained 4.5% body fat even tho I literally don’t see a single bit of fat gain and only pure muscle gain and huge strength increases, is there a reason for this? Can it be because of the fast?

      @@titoghoneim2591 dehydration makes your body less conductive because of the lack of water so the electric current takes longer to travel, which leads to higher body fat, which is why I don't trust inbody
