@@alexisu_x1938en realidad odia a lum porque era constantemente compara con ella además que si personalidad tímida no le permitía defenderse o negarse por lo cual era fácil culparla o meterla en problemas que ella no hizo ,y mientras ella era castigada o juzgada por algo que ella realmente nunca quiso hacer sino que la obligaron la ponía mal también que lum al ser una chica que no tiene noción completa de su alrededor nunca pudo ver qué su forma de ser inconscientemente hacía daño a ran y no solo era ella la que le hacía daño sino también las demás chicas ya que también se ve que RAN no tenía otras amigas aparte de ella pero lum era su única amiga verdadera o al menos así lo siente ella pero eso solo lo hacía más frustrante que la chica con la que te causa problemas tanto físicos,psicológicos, y emocionales que se aprovecha de ti y no tiene consideraron con Tigo sea la única a la que puedes apoyarte y lo de rei solo fue la gota que revaso el vaso ya que lum no amaba realmente a rei pero ran si y cuando se enteró del compromiso se aisló de todos hasta que descubrió que rompió el compromiso y formó otro con ataru y eso la enoja ya que ella al ser su mejor amiga conoce lo imposible que es el compromiso para los oni por eso ella no hizo nada pero ver qué ella dejo a rei como si nada cuando el la quería y no viendo por el como ella si, hiso que quisiera vengarse y acabar con el compromiso no solo por ella sino también por rei pero aún la sigue amando por eso cuando le pasa algo bueno es la primera en contarse y amenazarla con miedo que haga lo mismo que siempre asia que era robarse la atención y causar problemas pero si la quiere es una relación de odio y cariño que tiene RAN con lum y siempre decide dejar de lado el odio si ve que ella puede estar feliz con rei o no habrá ningún problema

They changed Ran's mom's characterization for this anime. In both the original anime and the manga, Ran's mother brutally spanked Ran anytime she thought she misbehaved. That whole, "She yelled at me all day when we got home" was actually "She spanked me all day after that." And not only that, but Ran's mother was actually going to spank Lum, a kid that isn't even her own.
It makes Ran's resentment of Lum much more understandable imo, but I see why they changed it. That shit wouldn't fly with today's political climate

@@jaredf.6532 The thing is Ran's mom would wrongfully blame her and emotionally abuse her by saying that she's worse than all the other kids around her, and to follow their example and stop being so misbehaving, before hitting her for hours and hours. This isn't her being spanked for a little and then put in a corner, this girl was beaten for hours on end. For shit that wasn't even her fault half the time.
Not to mention, if you think hitting is the only way to discipline children then you internalized abuse. I turned out alright and I never had to be hit by my parents in order to behave

This is actually a good example of one of the worst parenting methods, punishing for wetting the bed. Most of the time it's not even the kids fault, because it has a mental or a physichal illness behind it, and punishing makes it even worse.

I want to fucking slug these translators cuz they make TONS of translation errors and their translations are inaccurate for 20-40% of the episode. I may not have studied JP language but I KNOW for damn sure when it isn't right, and knowing chinese also helps with that.

I would argue that Ataru's parents also are. The main reason Ataru and Ran turned out the way they did is the way their parents treated them (I know because I had s*** parents too). In all seriousness, though, I hope such parenting will remain a thing of the past.
Well, give Ataru’s parents some credit that they never beat him. They only belittled him and were embarrassed by his behavior and the fact he’s a walking jinx.

昭和アニメ版と原作はもっとすごいですよ。
そして次回の「地球人」はもっとすごいです。
