In this alternate timeline, the devs witness you performing numerous glitches they were previously unaware of, and patch those out of the game before release, resulting in a paradox that could threaten the stability of the space-time continuum.
they delay the full game to try and patch it, end up failing, and the saturn release gets put out first, with the playstation version getting everything the saturn version has... if only :(
The late patched version without all the exploits would turn out to not be as fun to speed run, and in that timeline Dr4gonBlitz ends up primarily running Sponge Bob instead.
I.... I don't think they would have the time to patch all of those glitches, and even then there are many glitches that weren't demonstrated in that run.
Imagine them seeing all this means they patch all the glitches out before launching the real game, causing speedrunning this game to never catch at all and thus leading you to never go back in time in the first place, causing a paradox.
Konami devs started sweating once he grabbed the library card, and gave up on real games in favor of gambling machines once they sub-14 speed ran the demo at 1997 E3.
I can't believe you Reverse Shift-Lined through the fabric of time-space continuum. But I think, I know how to join you in your temporal adventures. I just have find my irl Heart Refresh. But honestly, it's mind-blowing to see how they didn't consider that someone actually could go through the spike room. Great video, man
Imagine if something like that actually happened and the devs are just standing there, losing their minds while you blaze through the game in ways they didn’t even know existed.
What is a comment? A miserable pile of algorithm food. Great stuff DB! This ended up being a nice little showcase of rare glitches! Looking forward to seeing more videos in the future
I really was impressed by this video. I liked the narrative through line and I feel you have gotten better at explaining some of the interesting glitches and mechanics of the game.
Maybe DB actually time traveled back to e3 1997, learned japanese and somehow convinced devs to leave the bugs as-is, so sotn could be speedrunned for ages
I forget what interview this comes from and who said it, but it's funny how the in-game menus were originally just the developer menus, and they kept them as-is
This was a good watch, I haven't played in a while but I'm glad I called the route idea haha, outside of being surprised the dupe was in the shop anyways
Ha the spike room, they not only forgot that on the demo, but on the original game, I think that there are two rooms like that I just mentally mapped them on my first room and then when I replayed the game I could pass it without the sonar, I did something similar with the dark cave in pokemon.
I did th same Garnet Fairy Money Glitch on PS1 ver before... To think this works on the E3 Demo is wild.... If you think about it, the Library Card becomes the most essential item😂 kudos with the vid!
So I guess four months ago would've been the convergence point. I don't know if it's possible for you to see this from another timeline, but if you can, what have they been making over there?
Always a fun to watch you speed run SoTN. Does the fact that you got out of the catacombs using only the mechanics of the game count as using glitches? Doesn’t seem like it.
thank god for multiverse theory or else a time traveler could actually do this and then konami would surely patch everything and we wouldnt get to watch this sick DB content :D
The time travel dilemma in this situation is if the Konami devs witnessed you glitching the SOTN E3 demo they would’ve then pulled a “Catch Me If You Can” and legally forced you to help them fix all the glitches you revealed and in turn you then would’ve changed the version of the final game which would (in this alternate present day) would have no glitches and thus changing your desire of speedrunning the game so it would fundamentally change your passion for Symphony of the Night, therefore the Dr4gonBlitz that would’ve gone into the past wouldn’t exist so to go back and show off all the glitches so now the original game goes into development so in that case the Dr4gonBlitz we know and love does grow up to be the undisputed SOTN king and now will go back to E3 and then... wait aww dangit you’re stuck in a time loop!
unrelated: last time I played I realized Akmodan II dies in one hit from a flame star.. does this work with other flame attacks? I never went back to check.
Imagine if you actually traveled back in time and did this. All of these exploits would have been fixed. You could do a video about how the Speedrun would look like without explicity all these used tricks.
This honestly wouldn't affect much. Sure, they'd be aware of the glitches, but I'd imagine the first version, which seeing this is basically done, wouldn't be too much far off from the version we know today. However, the greatest hits version? Whoo boy. With these in tow, that greatest hits version would probably be extremely boring to run... or would it? Because it would probably introduce a ton of other glitches that could theoretically be even more broken! This is a fun thought experiment.
I was actually there at e3 1997 and its all true. I saw this pink haired guy glitching the game and security had to kick him out. it was WILD
I saw it too!
noooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
No! That's not DB!
That was actually a link cosplayer.
Well, it was the 90s, they used to kick pink haired guys out of everywhere.
In this alternate timeline, the devs witness you performing numerous glitches they were previously unaware of, and patch those out of the game before release, resulting in a paradox that could threaten the stability of the space-time continuum.
Or maybe they just add even more like in Saturn 😆
they delay the full game to try and patch it, end up failing, and the saturn release gets put out first, with the playstation version getting everything the saturn version has... if only :(
The late patched version without all the exploits would turn out to not be as fun to speed run, and in that timeline Dr4gonBlitz ends up primarily running Sponge Bob instead.
I.... I don't think they would have the time to patch all of those glitches, and even then there are many glitches that weren't demonstrated in that run.
Girls with time machine: "Hey im your granddaughter"
Boys: "Imma ruin this dev's whole career"
Girl named One Gurl With Time Machine: “Not if I do it first.”
*(she’s next in line, sadly)*
Imagine them seeing all this means they patch all the glitches out before launching the real game, causing speedrunning this game to never catch at all and thus leading you to never go back in time in the first place, causing a paradox.
Konami devs started sweating once he grabbed the library card, and gave up on real games in favor of gambling machines once they sub-14 speed ran the demo at 1997 E3.
"The library had a typo"
Actually, he had two... in the menu it says: "Sell jem"
Great video, man
I was just a few days old when a pink-haired speedrunner came from the future and beat SotN.
Time travel should be legal in SotN tournaments.
right now theres a time traveler doing this and causing a heart attack for an onsite dev/pr person
Hey, I'm from the future! Your editors are both really good at their job- and so are you! Comments for the AlgoGod!
You've created a time paradox
That's why Discus Lords die like that, it's the time collapsing the demo from inside.
Lets go!! Time travel glitch discovered after 20+ years!
Ah yes, just as Igarashi intended.
Hey DB. This video popped up in my feed and Front page. I remember before only DB Daily showed up this quickly. So for me, the algorithm has changed.
This is pretty cool to see. I would've never thought someone dumped the E3 demo Rom online. This is history right here. O:
Imagine if something like that actually happened and the devs are just standing there, losing their minds while you blaze through the game in ways they didn’t even know existed.
What is a comment? A miserable pile of algorithm food.
Great stuff DB! This ended up being a nice little showcase of rare glitches! Looking forward to seeing more videos in the future
Speedrunning SO FAST, you travel through time!
I really was impressed by this video. I liked the narrative through line and I feel you have gotten better at explaining some of the interesting glitches and mechanics of the game.
Maybe DB actually time traveled back to e3 1997, learned japanese and somehow convinced devs to leave the bugs as-is, so sotn could be speedrunned for ages
konami gonna GET you for this one fr fr
Peak. Keep posting similar content.
I forget what interview this comes from and who said it, but it's funny how the in-game menus were originally just the developer menus, and they kept them as-is
This is a great video. Learnt all these new techniques for Sotn
The developers are shitting bricks after this .
I guess catacombs being the demo area explains that weird breakable wall in disc lord room with an arrow pointing to it?
12:28 Yo! It’s the (in)famous Camera Shift Glitch Thing!!
maybe I'm looking too into it, but wouldn't the time be in the negatives? I mean, you beat the entire game BEFORE it came out
Holy crap, we need to get you a time machine pronto
I cant believe they just left the library card there lmao
"Devs hate him! This one weird trick will allow you to cause chaos in E3 1997!"
This was a good watch, I haven't played in a while but I'm glad I called the route idea haha, outside of being surprised the dupe was in the shop anyways
And now there's an alternate timeline where every single glitch has been patched out of SotN. Thanks.
Released in 2003 for ps2
Granfaloon skipping since 1997 eh? 😆thanks for the video!
Great video! Super interesting that the demo contains the whole game, love the content, keep up the good work!
Damn bro, it's so nice to hear you speaking about all this knowledge
This video is algo-radical!
Full support DB !
Kids have it too easy now, this is what Swarm had to do back then to skip Granfaloon
Mr. Konami is rolling in his grave while watching this video. LUL
That alt Richter skip is very silly
It's having thoughts like this regularly that make me BARELY employable. I call it "detail oriented."
Who noticed on 6:00 that your starting stats is so low, that equipping duplicator makes them underflow?
1997 E3 must be wild.
That happens on the normal game as well. I believe it simply counts them as "0", though.
JoelCheck
I feel like the second you get out the catacombs, the Konami ninjas would throw you into the river
Ha the spike room, they not only forgot that on the demo, but on the original game, I think that there are two rooms like that I just mentally mapped them on my first room and then when I replayed the game I could pass it without the sonar, I did something similar with the dark cave in pokemon.
The devs after this will be like "This guy is gonna make us work 2 months overtime"
Great content as always!!
I time-traveled from the future to comment on this video for the algorithm.
somebody call the speed police¡¡¡¡¡¡
I did th same Garnet Fairy Money Glitch on PS1 ver before... To think this works on the E3 Demo is wild.... If you think about it, the Library Card becomes the most essential item😂 kudos with the vid!
*rips a big fat blunt smoke* : 0:00
Interesting to start the game locked in the catacombs…
If the Duplicator is in the E3: does that mean you can get the Varda???
get an algorithm comment (love your content strimmer)
I am from the future where E3 is still being held and Konami continues making good games.
So I guess four months ago would've been the convergence point. I don't know if it's possible for you to see this from another timeline, but if you can, what have they been making over there?
I’ve never touched a castlevania game in my life nor will I but damn if I don’t find this stuff interesting
Guys, no need to come from the future to know you should invest in Garnet coins! Always going up, EZ! 😎
Great vid as always
I'm honestly shocked the ending even exists, let alone functions, in this version
Did you end up submitting to GDQ? I'd love to see this run for it
This Speedrun hits hard fr fr.
JoelSmash
13:53 10/10 meme
time to time travel to '97 and do it in front of them for real for the funnies
Always a fun to watch you speed run SoTN. Does the fact that you got out of the catacombs using only the mechanics of the game count as using glitches? Doesn’t seem like it.
thank god for multiverse theory or else a time traveler could actually do this and then konami would surely patch everything and we wouldnt get to watch this sick DB content :D
Thanks DB, just did my first Richter skip thanks to this video.
Nobody got time for Richter. 🤣
Wait, so are you wanted by both the speed police *AND* the time cops?
Dank Time Travel!
What is a algorithm, a miserable pile of code? Enough talk like and subscribe.
Hell yeah
❤ for DB and the almighty algorithm!
I'd love to see the devs loosing their minds seeing this
TIME HEIST
Nice vid
once we figure out time travel this must be done
E3 Iga: WHAT?!
Sickkkk
Comment for the algorithm. Lets go!!!
They would think that you've been in japan, and played the game there
CHEATER in videogame also CHEATS in real life to GLITCH through space-time continuum, what a surprise.
Just imagining the reps' faces if you did this is so funny.
Pretty sure the library card thing was on purpose, they could put anything there but they chose a library card.
Konami reps watching this vid are retroactively fuming
now we just need a time machine.
lets fuckin go
Comment for the algorithm - so say we Joel...
Faerie speaking on japanese made me feel stuff.
unrelated: last time I played I realized Akmodan II dies in one hit from a flame star.. does this work with other flame attacks? I never went back to check.
For the something something, I can't remember what that DBDaily guy said.
Imagine if you actually traveled back in time and did this. All of these exploits would have been fixed. You could do a video about how the Speedrun would look like without explicity all these used tricks.
If you did all these tricks in front of devs ... it might create a speed run paradox where they patched all the exploits!
This honestly wouldn't affect much. Sure, they'd be aware of the glitches, but I'd imagine the first version, which seeing this is basically done, wouldn't be too much far off from the version we know today. Very fun
Community post for this vid showed me that I was unsubbed for some reason. Fixed that!
Comment for the algorithm
gdq e3 time travel run when?
