It always infuriated me that Skyrim required a perk to sell stolen spoons to any vendor. You’re telling me I need to get a perk to NOT randomly yell out “I STOLE THIS”? What happened to being a silent protagonist?
To be fair, half of the dragonborn's shtick is yelling one to three words at a time But instead of unlocking words with souls, you're using a skill point to concuss yourself out of that particular phrase
at least fallout 4 allows you to sell stolen weapons and a Fat Man and the vendors wouldn't give a fuck since y'know, they don't know and you never told them in the first place
How else could they make Thieves guild useful and interesting? Locking fencing behind a high skill wall and a perk, in a game where leveling up non-combat skills is extremely counterproductive unless you break it first. The problem is not that though. Oblivion had more restrictive fencing, but it also had best guild quests feeling better than the main quest, making it feel like you completely miss out if you don't join.

41:07 This is called being "digitigrade"! All birds and many mammals are digitigrade - you'll notice that dogs and cats have this same structure but less dramatic than most birds. It's generally faster than the alternative (plantigrade, where your heels touch the ground). I think birds are just kinda stuck that way evolutionarily, even if they don't run anymore because it evolved a long time ago in the theropod dinosaurs that they evolved from. Most lizards, however, are plantigrade so it probably makes more sense for argonians to have flat feet, and more for khajiit to have the "backwards knees" like they also do in Morrowind.
It's so funny looking at an elephant's skeleton. These hulking behemoths are tiptoeing across the savannah. They just have really fat feet. My personal theory is the Hist mutated the pre-argonian lizards to look a bit like Khajiit so they'd fit in with the other races of Tamriel. If they looked to human, it'd be uncanny, so they used the most humanoid beastfolk as reference. That's why female argonians have breasts. Why'd they pick Suthay-Raht over Ohmes? I dunno.
@@JustBackgroundNoise I think that might actually have been canon at one point. this was not just a challenge run this was art on top, worthy of preservation so that the generations that will be can come and listen to you talk and play this game. bravo, bravo maestro!
47:50 Isn't it highly implied that the Morag tong keep themselves hidden to have it be a test of initiation? If you can't find them then you don't deserve to be a member type thing. Guild leaders in other areas will give you the book that hints as to how to find the Morag Tong's main base but will state they can't tell you where it is. This also makes sense, it'd not put it past the great houses to try and take down the Morag Tong if they were to try to gain the upper hand on the other great houses. You can't tell me that Redoran wouldn't storm the main headquarters with their warriors for example, or that Hlaalu wouldn't hire mercenaries to destroy the Morag Tong if they knew where the base was after all. Past that, if I was an assassin in an order, even if it was legal, I wouldn't want people to know where my main base of operations was. Sure what I'm doing is legal...but not everyone is going to care about the law when they seek justice for you killing their best friend or parent etc.
They have public guild halls all over Vvardenfell, even one _inside_ Under-Skar, so I don't think they're worried about retaliation. Finding them as part of member initiation makes sense, though.
@JustBackgroundNoise I think there's a big difference between someone attacking a guild hall and someone attacking the *main* guild hall. If you lose members of your order, that's one thing, if you lose the defacto "head" of the order, thats a different matter. I do agree that they probably aren't all that afraid of retaliation though. I definitely think its more in line of an initiation ritual since you can find "The Black Glove" in each of the guild halls which tells you how to find them under the Arena if you're smart enough "To make your oath and enter our service, the worthy must seek the Grandmaster, who by tradition lives in the unseen and unlooked-for corners of Vivec City between the blood of battle and the waters of life."
@@connectedgamers1753 >waters of life This bit always gets me Like, mate, it's literally where filth from the whole canton goes. Likewise, a certain altar advising you to breathe the waters of Vivec's glory seems to omit how the glory in question is probably his divine pee or whatever gods excrete

Thank you for inspiring me to play through the game with a new twist (for me) with the "pacifist thief guild" video! I've never played a character in Morrowind who would be unwilling to murder people left and right 😅 and it turned out to be an incredibly fun experience being a lawful good guy who very rarely kills anyone and is just befriending bandits into submission or slips through dungeons with invisibility Not stealing and not robbing tombs is also refreshing, lol Now, this video is going to be incredibly helpful as well, because I've wanted to try to free all the Dreamers and maybe go for the 50 reputation points (something I also haven't tried before) and this is going to be a good reference for all the ways that can be done Wiki is cool and all, but seeing someone else do it is even better Anyway, great video as always!

You are definitely one of my favorite creators. Unlike most, I don't skip your ad reads as they are creative and funny.
I am a long time Morrowind fan and have been playing it since the game released.
Still, I find that I learn a lot from your videos.
Thank you for everything and take care.
Quickly become one of my favourite channels, and your take on ads is what sold me on the fact you're a bloody good chap
i cannot express in words how perfect of a blend of many different dare I say attributes your Morrowind content has for me. If I were to describe how it feels one word comes to mind and it's therapy. It's soothing whacky and geniuanly interesting at the same time. A word of advice from someone who doesn't know shit tho. Once you run out of ideas for Morrowind don't be discouraged. Branch out. I''ll be here for it and I'm sure it's the same for many others.
I just have to comment that honestly your ad reads (which I usuallly end up skipping with other youtubers) are just chef's kiss just due to the fact how creative/funny they are and a seemingly subplot storyline you have going on since you started doing them...
P.S. adreads cinematic universe (or ACU for short) when?
My favorite obscure morrowind loot is the thief ring in addamasartus behind the silt strider in seyda neen. When I found that the first time my mind was blown just a random enchanted ring hidden under a mushroom lol.
On a somewhat similar note, The Wailing Delve for me. There's nothing too valuable there, but damn
Hey I really enjoy your videos and I often fall asleep to them (in a good way) I usually end up watching them over a few days so I really appreciate you adding the video chapters
You have become one of my favorite content creators ever since I discovered your channel.
Just wanted to throw that positive affirmation your way. Thanks for all the entertainment!
I can't stop coming back to this video 😭 it's my new Mystery of the Druids by Mandalore or the Sonic Heros Episode of Ross's Game Dungeon
I was quite partial to Ross's Phantasmagoria 2 video before TH-cam took it down.
I must have played through this game 4 or 5 times and I had no idea you could cure the dreamers and sleepers. I love Morrowind so much.
I watch your videos to relax and drift off to sleep at night, love your stuff man keep up the good work.
I love this revival of Morrowind content.
JBN is the most underrated gaming channel in the world right now. I actually did know that about birds as well! It's one of my favourite facts to pull out at the zoo
Always great to sit back, relax, and watch another Just Background Noise video
I've never even played Morrowind, but am enjoying your vids. Cool to see your switch into this game paid off!
Wow, that's quite a journey! Great video and thanks for bringing us along with you.
Each Morrowind video of yours is like the unexpected, yet very pleasant christmas gift. Keep it coming please :D
Me walking back into my room after getting some water "...breathe autonomously" well now I'm doing it manually since you brought it up.
i like to watch your morrowind challenge videos a lot because despite trying to play morrowind at least 5 times i am unable to get past the first city, not because I lose interest, but I am just very bad at the game. I remain an oblivion truther due to this, and live vicariously through you.
This has gotta be my favorite video, dude. I LOVED seeing snippets of you streaming mixed in.
this was not just a challenge run this was art on top, worthy of preservation so that the generations that will be can come and listen to you talk and play this game. bravo, bravo maestro!
54:50 this has to be my favorite running gag in your Morrowind videos
This is basically the kenshi start 😭
@@connectedgamers1753
>waters of life
This bit always gets me
Like, mate, it's literally where filth from the whole canton goes.
Likewise, a certain altar advising you to breathe the waters of Vivec's glory seems to omit how the glory in question is probably his divine pee or whatever gods excrete
Wait a second, let me get my Tahriel shirt
Dude, thank you for more Morrowind content, love the nostalgia blasts 🔥
I was just watching one of your vids! You've become one of my comfort watches! Keep up the good work! Exclamation Point!
why did you say exclamation point? Question Mark!
Not JBN describing Camonna Tong as “a local Thieves Guild” 💀
Well, they sure ain't foreign.
@@JustBackgroundNoise But if there was ever a faction more diametrically opposed to “ultra conservative dunmer supremacy Camonna Tong” than “hippie abolitionist ragtag Thieves Guild”
But I guess Camonna Tong don’t *not* steal, and are indeed local
You're the only guy where I always actually watching the sponsorship bits, even though I have no interest in buying stuff, lol. The skits are great.
As much as I love everything about all of these videos, I think the running joke of cutting Azura off at "NEREVA--" like at 54:56 is my favorite.
Neat run, interesting to see the backup backup used of just doing lots of side quests and becoming famous so vivec gets bored and goes 'let's move this along please' by directly inviting you in
The little story at the start was a nice touch and quite cute
First time watcher. Dude I love it.. gonna check out your other stuff too. Great knowledge of Morrowind.. much love..
Thank you for inspiring me to play through the game with a new twist (for me) with the "pacifist thief guild" video!
I've never played a character in Morrowind who would be unwilling to murder people left and right 😅 and it turned out to be an incredibly fun experience being a lawful good guy who very rarely kills anyone and is just befriending bandits into submission or slips through dungeons with invisibility
Not stealing and not robbing tombs is also refreshing, lol
Now, this video is going to be incredibly helpful as well, because I've wanted to try to free all the Dreamers and maybe go for the 50 reputation points (something I also haven't tried before) and this is going to be a good reference for all the ways that can be done
Wiki is cool and all, but seeing someone else do it is even better
Anyway, great video as always!
Love the addition of more livestream clips, honestly all of your footage (scripted or not) is super entertaining
Edit: mrw no bonebiter bow rap section 😢
41:10 - Quick answer: Birds legs are like that so they easily fold up when they fly.
This was one of your best so far. I really enjoyed that whole journey from a literal absolute nothing to a god-killer.
