The G Pro X wireless is fantastic. Solidly built, with great sound, great wireless connectivity and good looks too. But it only has wireless connectivity and no other options. I'd also say the A50 has a better mic, but the G Pro X wireless does have that software.

Astro A50 Wireless
My favourite wireless headset for PC. It's not as robust as the G Pro X Wireless in terms of build quality, but it's comfortable and convenient. The charging base station makes it dead simple to charge and use and it has great sound and features too. The base station also means you can plug in other devices including an Xbox or PS4 as well as 3.5mm or optical devices and it'll work with the GoXLR (for example).

I love the look of the Logitech Pro X wireless way more than the A50. I have the g pro mouse and charging pad from logitech and wanted to match. But I found an A50 gen 4 with dock + mod kit for 180 locally. I couldn't help but take that over a new pro x wireless at 200.

personally I went with the logitech g pro x over the astro due to the ease of use. Although the docking station is nice and more convenient setting it up and bringing it on the go might be a slight pain in the butt. Also the logitech g pro x sounds and feels amazing. I'm sure the astro might a bit step up in comparison but I don't regret getting the g pro x!

conclusion was get the a50 because the convenient charging doc .... really? You didn’t say nothing about the mic qualities. $100 more just to get a charging dock for your headset and a more fragile headset is what I got out of this
For me the G Pro did not withstand the durability test of time. As robust as it looks, the 2 plastic ends were the aluminium handles rest broke within 6 months of use, the other one a short time later. Especially for people who might place the headset on one ear but not on the other to still talk to people, will defínitly damage them over time. This was one of the most expensive headsets I ever bought and sadly did break way too fast. In comparision to my prev g935 artemis and g35
After 9 months using the astro a50, it has started to show some issues, such as: Statics and getting disconnected stating the USB was not recognized. Already formated my PC, already changed the micro usb cable, tried another USB port but still get the problem (it's not all the time, it happens randomly, but still sucks a lot). Considering on trade for the logitech g pro x wireless.

Just buy the Logitech g Pro wired headset for aux inputs. If the wireless version doesn't have it and you need it then it would make more sense. The two versions have exactly the same drivers so that's cool too.
I recently just purchased the G Pro X mainly cause I already have a G903 mouse and G910 keyboard. Just wanted something that fit the ecosystem but also their G series headsets are just dumb looking for my liking. This G Pro X looks nice, with no flashy lights that you can't see, also I have terrible luck with wired cord on headphones/headsets as quickly one side stop working or having massive static feedback.
Also, just another product that I can use without additional software to install, G Hub for all my peripherals :)
I loved the idea of having the SHP9500 + V-MODA BoomPro mic, but I do know it will be going bad in a few weeks to a month.
Sidenote: Yes, I am that guy that used to buy corded headphones every couple of weeks cause the current pair started going back.

@@TheProvokedPrawn I bought the Astro A50 yesterday and right at start the software fails to update the firmware and headset went to the boo loader mode which even with hard rest wouldn’t get back to normal and I had to say u know what if I pay 350$ I better not deal with mess like that . I returned it and got the G pro I did not even need to do anything just plugged and played .
He's right A50 gets frequency interference with your modem/router the logitech will not since it works on its own from

Have both, bought the g pro because I found the A50 very unconfortable as the top headband will not stay in place and I prefer having the removable mic and USB type C is always nice. ALso when I first got the A50 it took so long to get the base station and headset to to sync together

If you're on PC. yes.
I play on my PS4 with the pro wireless and as long as the DTS is off it sounds as good (slightly better imho) than my old PlayStation platinum headset. I can locate chests and hear footsteps and identify where they’re coming from.

Hmmmm. Depends how much wired annoy you. As you can gather, out of the three I think the A50 is the best but the G Pro X is fantastic both wired and wireless. As long as you're gaming on PC though. Have you seen my wireless Vs wired video?
Wired has a better mic. You need to decide whether going wireless is worth the price.
Had Logitech proX wireless for a year and we're never loud enough for me, hated fumbling for mic mute button and no way to really know if it was on or off without feeling for button. Got A50s and they're louder, boom mic up or down is on or off and always known/changed super fast and easy with no fumbling for button mid game and dock is awesome
How's the sourround sound?
With the a50 if you run out of battery and need to still use the headphones, will that not be possible because you have to dock them? Or is there an option to connect a cord?
If you have an extra cable then you can plug that in and use them that way but I think the base station still needs to be connected too
On rtings, its reported from testing that the g pro x wireless has a latency time of 43ms where as the astro has 10 ms. Do you think there is a noticeable difference between the to two when it comes to streaming movies or gaming?

cool content. Short question. I have now the new a50 4th gen. everything is fine, but i think my ears are a bit to big and its a bit pressure over time. so i tried the modkit, but its the same. do you think the leather or the other fabric will stretch other time and it will be more comfy.
If not, do you think that the G Pro x wireless will fit more bigger ears, so be more comfy ?

I had the Astro A50s and I strongly disliked them. For £300 the microphone was unbelievably poor. I now have the Logitech G Pro X (Non wireless) and I couldn't be happier with them
Makes me sad when people grumble about the A50s. I think they're great. Opinions though eh! :) The G Pro X wired is great and much more affordable to be fair

@@TheProvokedPrawn arctis 7 has rly good hardware/mic and sound quality in game, way better than top hyperx's headsets, BUT like all steelseries stuff they have rly bad build quality, mine 7s micro-usb charging port started to woble after month and half use

I know alot of guys will prefer Astro a 50 but don't buy it if you will use it for Ps5 because the ps5 won't include the optical input so you won't be able to use it , İ think you should wait until astro find a solution for this situation for example creating a wire that (optical to usb )

I’m stuck between the two. I can get both the headsets relatively cheap thanks to discount codes, so price isn’t an issue. I currently own the Logitech g pro x wired and the Astro a40 2013 edition. I was doing some testing and noticed that the pro x sounded much better than the astros, but that could be because of how old my astros are. Anyways, I was wondering if I can get your opinion of the sound quality between the two, and which between the two are more comfortable when wearing glasses.
Audio difference is negligible and comfort is very similar. Logitech own Astro now anyway, so they're quite similar.

@@TheProvokedPrawn oh yes, lovely pair of headphones. Got the wired ones on discount, so went with those. Already have a pair of wireless headphones, OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2. Also I used an equalizer to get the bass to stand out a bit more, they're really awesome. Love your channel and all of your Cuisine Royale content!
My Astro a50s were awesome only had them for half a year or so but they just won’t charge on the doc anymore so I can use them with micro usb and the top band won’t click back in anymore save your money!

Shad0wReaper104 absolutely DO NOT get the Arctis 7, I bought them and returned them within a week because the audio is terrible, the A50´s are decent but I had the A40´s with a mixamp before and they sounded better

I have the A50's and have to say that the charging doc over time gets tricky. Meaning that before it was just place them in the base and that was it but know i have to wiggle and play with it so it sits correctly and starts charging.

Everything about the Astro A50s is awesome except for the sound. It sounds muffled and it misses so many sound details in games but I love the built , the look , and the mic.

Hey Prawn could you share your A50 command center EQ settings since I’m having a bit of trouble getting the audio to be perfect for FPS games?
Tbh I've found the default settings ideal for me. I believe there's a post on Reddit if you search with other people's recommendations though.
Alejandro Elosua that’s the main reason I got rid of my astros I couldn’t dial in that footstep audio. I play manly war zone, apex and just couldn’t hear what my mates were hearing but the sound was great just not those high end sounds. I got the Xpro wireless and I can hear footsteps pretty good.
Make sure you turn the dolby off on the headset if you are using any software sound like dolby Atmos. If you use the dolby on the headset then make sure you have no software spatial sound and set it to stereo uncompressed on pc, Xbox or playstation. That will fix a lot of your sound issues.

Crikey, that's quite a price difference. If you're on PC I personally think they're fantastic. It's been a long time since I used the G935 but I do remember thinking they weren't amazing. I was much more impressed with the G Pro X and they're more comparable to the A50s - at least in terms of comfort and sound.

I’ve had them for about a week and I do like them for Warzone with surround sound off. But I do think the astros are better for any other games except FPS games were you don’t need to hear footsteps. But the fact that they are pretty much only for pc makes me want to return them. I might rather have a headset I can use on ps4 and pc then just one platform.

@@ahmedrahman4892 My girlfriend has the Steelseries wireless Pro and I have the A50. I've played with her headset quite a lot to in order to compare the the two. I find the astro much more comfortable and with better audio quality for most games. The Steelseries shines when it comes to footsteps. Overall, the astro is way better in my opinion.
