    I've been suffering from this for a long time. This drill seems to have sorted it for me. Thanks a million. Other tips and drills never worked. You're a diamond.

    Hi Troy , being a low single figure handicap for many years my poor shot that creeps into my game is the Toe Shot! mainly with my irons . After having many lessons over the years ,not one Pro has mentioned where the angle of the shaft is at impact , after watching your youtube video i think you have solved my problem and i am lying in bed at the moment!! Can not wait to get the the practice ground tomorrow and try the alignment stick drill .Subscribed great work mate !!

      Thanks Andrew, I can definitely relate to you as the toe shot has been my bad shot for years. This has definitely helped me and hopefully the same for you. Cheers.

    One question, sorry for the length of it. When setting up to the ball, we usually set up with center of mass roughly in the middle of our feet. We let the middle of clubface fall naturally behind the ball before starting the backswing. In reality in transition we start bringing our swingarc towards the target, which also moves center of mass and bottom of the swingarc towards the frontfoot. The swingarc is slightly diagonal (down the line) which would mean that if we hit the ball before the bottom of the arc, we would actually be at impact slightly closer to our body with the clubface relative to what it would be att the bottom.
    In summary. If we set up with the ball in the middle of the clubface and move the lowpoint forward (towards target) during the downswing up to impact, we would hit off the toe because of the diagonal swingarc. Isnt this a big factor to consider with irons in particular, with one solution of setting up more towards the heel?

      It’s not something I’ve had any issues with. But, you could definitely play around with it and see what results you get. Thanks

    Great tips. I have struggled with this for 40 years. There used to be a practice aid that placed a bar over top of the ball. The drill was to hit shots without hitting the bar. I have used the stick drill that you have demonstrated as well. Seems like I have to go through this each Spring coming off winter golf.

      Thank you very much, that sounds like a good drill also. Always need lots of practice that's for sure. Cheers

    Nice video. I started playing golf again after being away from the game for a long time. What I have noticed after recording my swings, I have a big problem with hitting off the toe. I have started doing the three ball drill with mixed results. When I am practicing with the three balls my contact is greatly improved. When I remove the balls after awhile, and put one ball down I have gotten mixed results. Obviously when I am on the course I cannot put three balls down on the ground.lol. I will stick to the drills and hopefully over time it will improve.

      Thank you very much. Yes, it takes some time and the drills will work great for repetition and practice. Keep at it and you'll get there. Cheers

    Good video. Do you have any other drills for people suddenly having trouble putting clubhead on the ball? Suddenly l, 4 months ago, something changed and I can no longer hit the driver. Toes shots are one problem. Bad hooks also. Never sweet spot now.

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best way is to practice swing the clubhead through two objects. You can use a couple of gloves or similar with or without hitting golf balls

    do you have a video on the pros & cons of closing vs squaring the clubface (irons) at address? I ask because of the diff of the shaft lean at address vs at impact

      @Hittingitsolid  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't at this stage, but that is something you can definitely experiment with at the driving range and see what results you get.

    Does this work for driver ? I am tall 6'4 . It really helps with my irons but am hitting the ground with the driver

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Richard, yes it works with the driver as well. Just need to be hitting more up with the driver and have the ball placed forward off the lead ankle. Cheers

    Thank you for the explanation and the drill. I use spray powder on the face of the club, better than a sticker, to see the hit. Works well. Have been working on getting rid of the toe shot and one method is to tell myself to hit it on the heal! Often helps and I hit it near the center.

    Hello Troy great video. Can you make a video on why all my divots are to the left of my target (right handed golfer). I rarely hit a slice, most of my misses are small pulls or big pull hooks. Most are also off the toe as well

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, thanks for your comment. I've done a video previously on how to stop hitting pull shots here th-cam.com/video/yy6W-9ruyms/w-d-xo.html. Alos, I'm posting a new video next week that will address swing path and getting in to out which will also helps with pulls. Make sure you check that one out too. Cheers
