I'm a big Brewers. Bryce Turang is actually elite. He rarely gives up errors, and make plays most second basemen can't make. It's electric to watch. For whatever reason all of the defensive metric algorithms don't like him as much as other guys.

I’ve been a brewers fan my whole life, and I will give a summary of every season
    1. Everyone predicts the brewers will suck
    2. The brewers come out swinging and take a huge lead
    3. The all star break hits and they start to suck
    4. The cardinals or cubs take the division lead
    5. The brewers win the division by a game or 2
    6. They get swept by the eventual NL World Series representative

  • @HHopebringer

Some of the stats are weird. Payamps and Milner (who were extremely important parts of the bullpen last year) have both had some atrocious luck when called upon, and the starting pitchers have been a mixed pack, in that you never know what you'll get. Freddy Peralta has been up and down because he's looking for the perfect pitch instead of throwing a good to great pitch, and hunting for that perfect pitch has gotten him in a lot of trouble.
The good news for the Brewers is that they have a much-improved batting average from last year to this year and they are not afraid to steal. They've kinda bullied the Cardinals in their early matchups, which they need to keep doing since they're just about done facing the Cubs for the year (where they've done rather well, through not perfectly). With Devin Williams coming back to the bullpen after the Break and possible moves in the making, who knows what the future holds? They're really exciting ^^

The logic that losing Corbin Burnes was gonna derail the brewers into obscurity was so flawed to begin with. He wasn’t even that great last year lol people act like this was prime Pedro. And people bringing up Woodruff clearly didn’t watch any brewers last year lol he didn’t even pitch 70 innings for them last year. If your reasoning for why they had no chance was they’re missing about 6 war on their pitching staff, I think that’s dumb when you think about how good they’ve been at developing pitching. And the lineup was improved to offset that loss in value along with young players developing like Turang

I feel it is the youth that came in and showed up. Many of their better players are rookies, with nothing to compare to - Sal Frelick, Brice Turang, and Jackson Chourio to name a few. And because of that, the baseball pundits overlooked them - but, the kids can play. Their defense is the best in the league; Sal Frelick is a constant highlight reel of incredible catches. Brice Turang is stupid fast, getting all of those stolen bags. Jackson Chourio got an inside the park home run this year because of his speed. The kids can play.

You know good video but something about the defensive section that I think you missed. Brice Turang isnt just another good defender on the brewers. He is the best defensive player in the entire league. I think why you missed it is because you were looking at OAA, which, for some reason, hates Turang. Something like DRS or even just the eye test can tell you Brice Turang will win gold glove at 2B this year. If you want to learn more I believe there is a breakdown somewhere on youtube about the statistical discrepancies regarding Turang

I'm from Milwaukee and saw the Brewers in the World Series in 1982. The Milwaukee Brewers will never see another World Series with a owner that won't spend money and a commissioner Rob Manford that won't allow it. He needs all the big markets in MLB in the World Series to make the money back they lost during covid. Since 2016 every winner of the World Series was a big Market team! Kansas City Royals won it in 2015. Remember when Atlanta lost the all star game and it went to Denver that same year, because of what happened in Georgia. To make it up The Braves won the Series that year. If you watch game 2 of the playoffs that year Atlanta at Milwaukee the strike zone changed??

  • @t-man152

Young stars are just the way to win. We have VERY low payrolls which brings incredible value. Guys like Turang and Churrio and Ortiz have to play their hearts out on the field to maintain a roster spot. As goes for Frelick, Mitchell,.and Perkins since we have to many outfielders. Slight pressure leaves them with fulfilling responsibility. Yelich and Hoskins don't have that since theyre everyday players with the highest roster salaries. Due to our small market team we couldn't pay Burnes so likely we will not get a top pitcher here but if we find young gems like Gasser we are all set. We have our two loyal and usually good starting pitchers in Woody and Freddy, and two relievers in Devin and Megill. The rookies shine out and our bullpen stays consistent and results should flow in. As long as we can manage to resign Willy and Contreras who are both top players at they're respective positions will should get paid.
