Best doctor I ever met . I love you guys. You changed my life 5 years ago and because of your treatment I saved my marriage and I have my daughter who is now 4. Keep up the good work many women out there needs help and are suffering in silence.
100%. Thank you so much for explaining. I found that despite preparation and explanations. My ex husband found that "wall" a turn on. Sex without fear became boring to him. Terror and physical aggression became his new pleasure. I stay away from men because I feel as though I am training rapists. The guilt of my non perfromance and fear. Becomes a forgiving green light for a sick traumatic experience. It really feels like dying for me. But a new virgin for him. It is unbearable. I stayed celibate for over 13 years and counting. Bc of Vaginismus secondary.
thank you so much i’m 18 and it happened to me out of nowhere one day. I’ve been upset about it but i’m hoping that i’ll be able to recover soon. will it only be possible with professional treatment?
Glad to have been of help. While some women are able to self-cure, professional intervention is available for those who cannot (the majority). Let us know if you wish to proceed without our in-person or online treatment options (516.576.1118 or email doctors@womentc.com)
I apparently have the condition (self diagnosed) I live in a country where I am supposed to abstain myself till marriage. In a perfect world a doctor wouldn't judge a patient but last time I was at the gynaecologist she refused to give me a checkup unless a guardian was present (I am 21). I don't know what to do about it. Is there anything I can try at home that helps? Please let me know. I am desperately searching for help.
I think I have vaginismus, but I do not have anxiety about sex. I actually want it a lot, especially PIV sex. The only anxiety I might have is getting pregnant, but I often fantasize about having a baby even though it would not be a good life decision at this time. Does it always have to be a panic response?
Vaginismus is about the inability or great difficulty with vaginal penetrations, and it is always an anxiety-based condition. If you can have all vaginal penetrations without any pain/duress, then you do not have vaginismus.
Can you please make a part two about ways to help the fight or flight reasoning on your own or if that is even possible without a doctors help. I was sexually active from the age of 17 to 21 with my husband and had no issues. About a year into our marriage it started getting more and more painful to where we couldn’t even try anymore. I would scream out loud from it being so painful, like he was stabbing me with a knife. (He was always super gentle btw) It’s been 3 years of me not being able to have sex with my husband and it’s breaking my heart. I just want to be fully intimate with the man I love again. I wanna help my chances of getting pregnant. I wanna feel like a woman again. If I get drunk with it ease my mind and let me have sex? Will it help my fight or flight or will it not matter at all? Is there anything I can do?
Taylor Marie, so sorry to read of your great suffering. Losing the ability to have pain-free intercourse is typically the result of life's event/s that need to be identified in order to resolve the now-secondary-vaginismus. If you wish to discuss further, email us with this info to doctors@womentc.com and we can continue the conversation in private. Lastly, thank you for the fine suggestion for Part II.
Vaginismus has no impact on the woman's menstruation/period. In other words, you can have the severest of vaginismus with a normal menstruation cycle. Hoping this helps.
Hmmm, not sure about the 'not helping' comment, but we're happy to assist if you contact us directly with your inquiry/details. Either call 516.576.1118 or email us at doctors@womentc.com

I wished I had found this center sooner. It is too late for my marriage.

I love you ladies. It makes so much sense that vaginismus is caused by anxiety. I went through your treatment and it really helped me.
Then you know... Thanks for taking the time to comment. Delighted to have been of help.
It's great to see this... I have also treated myself. Weedborn oils have helped me a lot.
