What Khabib is referring to is this......of course hockey is Canada's national sport, the best hockey players of all time are arguably Canadians (Wayne Gretzky, Gordi Howe, Bobby Orr, Sidney Crosby, etc.)...in 2010 we hosted the Olympic games on home soil in Vancouver Canada, and our golden boy of hockey Sydney Crosby, scored the game winning overtime goal (referred to as the Golden Goal) against the Americans to win the Gold Medal. An absolutely HUGE moment for our country. Sidney also led his team to win the Stanley Cup the year before....HOWEVER, GSP was such an amazing athlete and what he was doing on the world stage in MMA, actually earned him Canadian Athlete of the Year above Sidney Crosby......this accomplishment cannot be overstated, Khabib is very respectful and he completely understands this which I find quite fascinating about him. Very intelligent. With all that said, Khabib is great, but GSP is the GOAT in my opinion, best to ever do it thus far.
