I don't know what is so mesmerizing about shop solutions. I feel like most of the videos I watch are related to organization lol. I love them. Keep em coming. I have a little white board full of french cleat ideas I want to try not just for the shop, but for home too. I will share some with you since I don't make videos: toiletries, small desktop computer and monitor with speakers headphones mouse keyboard wires etc, CPAP machine for friend's bedroom with this cleaning box and water jug for filling the water chamber, nebulizer for a kid's room, dehumidifier or humidifier or air purifiers for folks spaces, decorative picture and plant and light ones, alarm clocks, charging stations, other bedside things like drinks books tissues remotes etc, drawing supplies and little fold out standing desk solution haven't thought thru yet, EDC systems, mail & keys, beard grooming, jewelry, altar, fire lighting for by wood stove with lighter starters kindling and shovel and cleaning tools, label maker and tape, cordage station for folks who make stuff out of cord like lanyards bracelets etc, cat station with treats brush lazer other toy nail clippers etc, box fan cleat for use when needed but on wall when not with room for filter in back if folks want, picnic supplies or cookout supplies with plates bowls cutlery and maybe skewers smore stuff foil etc, physical therapy stuff for folks who have things they have to do daily and want visible and out of the way when not in use, herbal medicine and tinctures and salves, extra lighting, folding chairs, outdoor games, temperature displays and holders for handheld temperature or pressure or other reading gauges, medication for folks who need like bottles as well as those daily holders to refill their daily/weekly ones easier, packing bag storage with all the bags and organizers you use for taking a trip all in one place easy to see and grab and fill and go, bulletin board whiteboard tack board supplies around the board with tacks markers tape magnets etc, trash recycling compost cans, cleaning supplies, blender or magic bullet station cause all those things suck storing in cabinets, power outage station with flashlights lanterns power banks batteries etc, period station for tampons pads hot water bottle heating pad meds chocolate etc, home security station or echo station for those things you want nearby and visible but not taking up table space, pantry french cleat solutions like for self feeding can goods etc but i seen someone have a bunch of stuff like that, mail station for incoming and outgoing mail with pens paper envelopes stamps tape etc as well as file area for different people or categories of mail, larger first aid station for home use with more organization and space so don't have to dig thru a small box, spare hangers in laundry room and stuff like clothes pins dryer sheets detergent etc... basically, i think french cleats can look good in every room!!!
I love this system. You just have to put theses cleats on the wall and think later. You don't have to plan your workshop before. And most of these ideas can be made with "lost" wood for no money. That's great. Thank you.
I love how you cut straight to the point and explain each part of the French cleat holders. Super easy to understand, definitely going to use some of your ideas!
Hey there I think you're awesome you just show and describe how you do it fairly quickly and that makes it nice that you start right off the bat items I would've never thought of so keep up the good work I love what you do
I especially like your cleat and background color. I’ll have to search for that build to see what you used and how you painted it. Great ideas. Thank you
Sonny You are so good and I need to keep up to You! French Cleats are the way to go and leave Peg Boards and clips to beginners or Shorties! Very well done all of 20!!
Clinton, you are like a freaky french cleat wizard and I absolutely love how man ideas you have for this system. If im ever in a rut for tool storage ideas I go straight to you, man. Like I said, you are some kind of freaky french cleat warlock and I simply cannot get enough. Love your delivery and attitude and consice-ness. Keep rocking on brother! Chers from Long Island, NY!
i can't get enough french cleat ideas. future idea suggestions: french cleat coffee machine holder, french cleat tv mount, french cleat sit-stand desk, french cleat rifle rack, french cleat sound system... that's all i got! keep em coming
I am SO GLAD I found you. I have a shop/shed with lots of s-crap and a TON of ideas and interests, wood, rocks (lots of rocks) lol, it's all hanging around waiting on me. Being 53, disabled & Independent =😆🌀🕰🗓
All great ideas, my favs are, fishing rod & tackle box, bag dispenser & the socket set with rachet, oh yeah, the craft stick holder is also a plus, God Bless stay healthy & thanks for sharing.
The box for the bags and tube for rags are also great for disposable gloves another idea you haven't covered(or anybody else for that matter) is for a holder for center pull paper towels
I came across your channels just in time!! I built my own shed with the help of my dad and MAN you came up with EVERYTHING!! I LOVE IT!! I cant wait to get busy! Can you tell me how you made your French cleats?
You are so inspiring. I am building my french cleat wall and watch all your ideas for creative ideas. Question - What do you think of using LVP flooring for building tool holders? I have a lot left over and trying to find ways to use it up. Would you consider doing a video for that, or at least let me know if it is feasible? Thank you for sharing your tremendous knowledge!
From 6/27/20202 through to today (7/11/2020) my family & I have built 8 of this episodes 20 ideas. The most of any French Cleat video. Yours or anyone else's. The list is so long, and we altered some of your plans, I will just give you the segment numbers than to detail what we did, except for one. So we built #1, #2, #3, #9, #15, #17, #19, & #20. As for #19 we took your son's genius idea, made the box larger and horizontal. The access hole was oval shaped and the box was large enough to fit a box of disposal gloves. We did this for our G-Kids painting project, our various craft projects, & household cleaning, during this stay at home pandemic. But my niece liked the idea so much we made a dozen more. She took them to the hospital where she works. Now each Nurse's station has a 4 tier French Cleat Glove & Face Mask Box thanks to your son. Now my request, and if your son wants to solve this problem I am not only listening, I'm building. School MAY start soon. So if you could come up with a Bookbag/BackPack holder for the kid's bedrooms or the mudroom cleat areas it would be a great project for the kids to build. I'm thinking of a top shelf to ploop stuff on. With some kind of winged shape holder below to hold the shoulder straps of the BackPack bag. Please consider it. ~Jim and family in Upstate N.Y.
It means a lot that you're watching my videos, but it means even more to know that you're doing something with them. And the fact that you're making something for others is in a league of its own. As for the idea, I look forward to thinking up something to work for that.
@@JUST-UK-JAY The kids already have coat hooks. The problem there was when the kids hang the backpacks the weight and stress from the bags tend to rip the stitches or the little loop at the top of the bag. Also there is not shelf or collection box for those extra junk kids find and bring home with them. Thanks for the input though. ~Jim
Awesome vid. Hate to say it but you got a real simple, real easy little troll there by “Harry” on the fishing pole holder part. I hit rewind several times on that name and the chuckle never dulled. But genuinely, your vids are solid and I’ve really enjoyed watching this series. I will definitely be trying out several of your ideas.
Love the Boots Cleat idea....i live in Alaska where sometimes our boots get wet inside . To have this idea would be great to dry them out with this setup
What an absolute pleasure to watch. Love your videos. Just a question regarding the fishing cleat. 5:23 Harry H Who? I turned the captions on and it to suggested what I thought I heard 🤣🤣
I love your French cleat shenanigans... I have one word to say to you 'magnets' ... I reckon they could enhance a fair few of your creations 😊... Thanks for the inspiration
Just a thought for the socket holder, if you added a piece of wood or even a couple of dowels for legs to the front then it would stand up on it's own off the wall. Might make it easier to select different size sockets close to what you are working on without having to go back and forth to the wall.
Appreciate all the ideas - will use some. I 've been trying to figure out if I go with Cleats or Slatwall or (rejected) pegboard. So, what I would need custom cleats for vs slatwall and shelves? I already have a bunch of shelving. What Im seeing is that many of the custom cleat holders are a time consuming solution to not using shelves. So many things shown here will just go into a plastic box or even a cardboard box. Or a small set of drawers from container store. Not as cool. But I'm short on time for building things. I'm concluding that most of what doesn't work on shelves will hang on hooks. So I think that I'm going slatwall for the hooks. I am starting to conclude that the French cleat system is for when you have more time and less money and/or love making cool little things for your shop.
Thanks for informing me about french cleats! I love watching your videos and I decided to hang up some french cleats. They have saved me lots of space.
How manny inches for the cleat "one inch two inches"? I just started to organize my tools and for one reason got this video thanks God and you for this tutorial.
So inspiring, friend... great video! I wonder what are your thoughts on making french cleats with a circular saw, set at a 45 degree angle, and cut some 4 inch strips one after another (off a plywood sheet). The strips would have two 45-degrees cuts on them, but does it matter? It shouldn't affect the mounting system or strength of the cleats.
If you can be very safe with cutting, it should work out well. The lower edge may need to be trimmed a little or it could be a possible way to cut a hand.
Hi, I. Really enjoy all the tool storage info and videos you have available, I noticed that there doesn't seem to be any avail for "hole saw" cleats though. Any suggestions to help me out? Thnx beau
Howdie great ideas how about making one for big and small Funnels ? I will be watching your one l got for bolt cutters ya got this Ace from Canada 🇨🇦 Sk later keep them coming 😊
Thanks for these videos, gonna do my garage when/if the smoke clears. Would you do a video on Meta French Cleats - tips for measuring your tools, techniques and materials you use for a lot of the holders, etc? Thanks for your great vids.
Here's why SLC is a game changer: it's all together. The tool AND the tool and parts that make that tool useful. My favorite is still that angle grinder, wrench, handle, and disks all together. No swearing...
Another terrific vid! Love your easy style...:-) I always end up taking a number of screenshots printing them off and putting in my book of things to do... Great job!
I have my workshop in the basement. Walls are solid concrete that is over 100 years old. No signs of any issues with the concrete. What size and type of fastener do you recommend?
Definitely use masonry screws. As for depth, I would go around 1.5 to 2 inches into the wall, so maybe 2.5 inch screws. I have not installed F.C. on solid concrete walls before, but if done correctly, they should do well.
So, what do we call you by? Specific or Love? Ha ha ha! Not able to do a French Cleat system...yet! Love the car ramp idea. How heavy are those fishing rods & boxes anyway? 😄😄😄 What, or if, have you done for hand planes? I am curious, what is the size of your new shop? Keep up the great work!
Shop is about 8'x30' I made a shelf setup for my hand planes in video #2. The rods are lightweight, but the main box probably weighs 10+ pounds. Hope that helps.
Love your out takes, nice ending to a nice presentation! Good stuff, great ideas. I will be exploring adding cleats but the question that keeps coming up is the distance between the horizontal wall cleats. Is there a criteria you can share? I’ve seen close together or father apart.
What was the name of the fella who came up with the idea for the French Cleat system to house his fishing gear? (Time stamp 5:24) Can you spell his last name? I'm not sure I heard that right.
I watched all 5 videos on the French Cleats now I’m sure I have enough ideas to set up my workshop shed. ❤❤

Definitely inspired by the glue brush/tray holder. I’m going to build one of these
Hello my friend. very nice. thank you. be happy. bravo.. see you....
I love the cleat idea. The hardest part of setting up my garage is deciding where to hang stuff. This way I can arrange and rearrange as needed.
You got it exactly right.

What size do you cut the wall cleat
@pop @000@con frecuencia frente gyoza
Nigel Dunn You can rip a 1x4 in half
Your designs are the very definition of form follows function. Very good. These are brilliant.
Love your content and now you added the blooper reel your content just got better. Keep videos coming
Your cleat ideas are "off the wall" no pun intended lol. Really useful thanks for sharing

Another great video. My favorite may be the socket set organizer but I do have to hang my hammers and mallets this week. Thanks so much!
Have fun in your shop
Love the Boots Cleat idea....i live in Alaska where sometimes our boots get wet inside . To have this idea would be great to dry them out with this setup
Thanks for the ideas. I am now even more in love with French cleats!
Love all your solutions
Words are hard! Completely agree. Thanks for Sharing. Really boosted my creativity.
Great ideas..getting ready to set up a small shop..thanks for the tips.
Nice great ideas 👍👍
What an absolute pleasure to watch. Love your videos. Just a question regarding the fishing cleat. 5:23 Harry H Who? I turned the captions on and it to suggested what I thought I heard 🤣🤣
I was speaking fast and apparently it misquoted me. It is Harry H. Just H.
I heard the same thing and did a double-take, then decided to see if anyone else heard it too. 🤣

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Clinton, you are the King of the French Cleat!
Many thanks

You are correct, I did not make any for a hole saw. I would probably use a flat piece of wood with some screws in appropriate places to hang them on.
Well I just love all your videos, so if you come up w any good ideas I would b greatful if you put up a new video. Thanx man
Howdie great ideas how about making one for big and small Funnels ? I will be watching your one l got for bolt cutters ya got this Ace from Canada 🇨🇦 Sk later keep them coming 😊
men you're amazing, have a grates ideas :)
Glad you like them!
Thanks for these videos, gonna do my garage when/if the smoke clears. Would you do a video on Meta French Cleats - tips for measuring your tools, techniques and materials you use for a lot of the holders, etc? Thanks for your great vids.
👍👍👍👍great job again 👍👍👍👍👍
hello, very nice work. Did you fix french cleat directly on the wall? What's wood material did you use?
Abraço Açores, São Miguel, Portugal...Adorei algumas ideias...
Great!! Thank you! All excellent ideas that I will use for my carpentry workshop
Good job....great video with some cool ideas! Thanks!
Que buena forma de ordenar ,
Felicitaciones
Perfect job & thanks
you can use the PVC rag holder also for the plastic bags and in that way they match :-)
Here's why SLC is a game changer: it's all together. The tool AND the tool and parts that make that tool useful. My favorite is still that angle grinder, wrench, handle, and disks all together. No swearing...
Thank you very much
Another terrific vid! Love your easy style...:-) I always end up taking a number of screenshots printing them off and putting in my book of things to do...
Great job!
Creative ! Thanks for the idea !
I've been trying to think about how I could use french cleats to handle my various things in my small kitchen.
You might be able to build some small ones inside your cabinets
Great video thanks for sharing
On the socket set holder maybe put 2 legs on the front so it will stand up when you set the whole thing on the table or floor.
Good idea
Excelente la organización de las herramientas.
Awesome ideas! Thank you very much.

Shop is about 8'x30'
I made a shelf setup for my hand planes in video #2.
The distance is up to you.
For the socket set holder, would little magnets under the sockets work better the nails and screws to hold them in place?
Maybe, but I have not tested it.
You are the best dude.
Excelentes ideas. Muy bueno todo.
What was the name of the fella who came up with the idea for the French Cleat system to house his fishing gear? (Time stamp 5:24) Can you spell his last name? I'm not sure I heard that right.
