From what I have read online, Innis was quite a champion for the rights of the elderly and was a hero trying to fight for improved care for his mother in long term care. There’s a wonderful podcast that featured him and the whole family story. He may have been going through a hard time during this show, he seemed to have made a wonderful use of his life and loved his family and children very deeply. ❤
These stories may seem bad to some people, for Canadian's all these stories are familiar. When I read comments condemning any of Gail"s projects I realize that in other countries access to credit is never a problem no matter how large the debt.
Her comment about not throwing the relationship away over something like money shows her lack of insight. He has 2 children and is only working 25 hours a week and living on his mom's couch. Motivation, commitment, and selflessness are what's the problem.
He seemed like he was really struggling dealing with the separation of his family and that was a big part of the “laziness”. I’m glad Gail was able to help him out of his slump. He looked like a very good dad. I wonder if he and Rachel stayed together. She seemed pretty shell shocked from the condo challenge.
My absolute favorite episodes of this show are the ones where the people really recognize their behavior, have supportive significant others, and those that Gail really vibes with. Innis has all 3 of those and is truly an amazing person!!

The Sofa challenge was so embarassing. Also he could have ended up sleeping on a Sofa in the Street. My Cousin almost got evicted because he was always late with Rent. He got it but it was a light under his backside. He's trying to do better by paying half of his rent every two weeks when he gets paid and it's helped alot. He knows he's bad with his money but he's one of those folks wh needs to keep up with the joneses. I told him how dangerous it is to spend money he doesn't have but he doesn't listen. He passed away last year. His mother is in long term care and was treated atrociously during the pandemic. He protested, did hunger strikes, etc.
