This was a nice couple. I wish Gail had offered the other $1,000 contingent on them moving out within 6 months. They really tried and its a lot to do in just 30 days. Their attitudes were so positive the whole time.
I think she was too hard on them. I get her point but to expect them to move out in a week was unrealistic. I've seen other couples doing far less and getting 5000.
I have a suspicion that while a few couples can continue the massive changes in their spending, many probably fall back to their previous patterns, sadly.

I am obsessed with this show. We have a 10 dollar second hand television 📺 and you know what. It works just fine. You really can be okay with out all the new fancy electronics
Well…new TVs are really cheap now. And I like to send over to my tv, TH-cam videos I find on my phone. Can’t do that with an old tv. 🤷🏼♀️ But I have old but working appliances elsewhere in my house. I think I paid around $200 for our 42 inch tv on Black Friday about 4 years ago. 👍🏻

My first tv was sitting next to my apartment dumpster and a friend who said oftentimes they only need a new small, cheap part replacements. Spent the muscle work and $1.50 on parts... plus welcome expense of a wine, cheese and chess night out with my repairman friend.
@@cjhoward409 TV's were always an "issue" with alot of Couples. I bought My TV when I had the "Money" to do so. I live with My Mother and My Father died a decade ago. When she wanted a "New" TV, My Sisters and I joined forces and bought her one. I paid for it and they reimbursed me. She was happy but now I buy what I "Need" not what I Want.

Video games don’t need to be an expensive hobby. That $30/week would buy you a AAA game every other week or two indie games a week. Either way, that’s plenty of hours.

She has to do that with about half the couples I've seen so far, I remember being young and stupid with money but I didn't know so many other people were young and stupid!
I couldn’t wait to get out of the house. (And fyi, I have a loving family.) I just wanted to be on my own. Some friends moved back home to save for weddings/down-payments/etc. but my autonomy was more important to me than the financial gains. I like being an adult and calling my own shots.
I have 5 cats and spend $10 a month for 50lbs cat litter, and $21 for 30 lbs of cat food. So $31 a month for cats. What the hell did they buy there cats
I wish my cats food would cost $31 mth. Our cats all have special digestion& allergy needs so unfortunately, Our food bill for them is more like $60+. We cut back in every area so we can afford to feed them& not have to rehome them.
Maybe they have health problems? I had to take my cat to the emergency vet last month and they charged me $800 and didn't even figure out what was wrong with her.
The litter and food for my 2 cats is $100 a month, and I buy them fairly nice food. For $350 a month, I wonder if they had a big vet bill or something, because otherwise I can't explain it.
I just spent $800 for a well ness exam, vaccine updates, and flea prevention (and he still needs a dental cleaning). Medical bills can go up pretty fast, but my old guy is worth it :).
By today's standards $17,000.00 is a Entry Level Salary. Also because one earns "more" than the other the person who makes the most may have "covered" for the other person and that's bad.
he was making just over minimum wage (minimum wage at $7.45/hr would be 15000/year assuming a 250 day work year. Assuming the same number of hours, he was making $8.50). i'm not going to shame anyone's work, but given he is mid 30s this is probably not where you want to be, especially if you're in debt. pathetic is a bit harsh to say though
They made some really stupid decision 😅 … looking at the technology 15 years later it’s so hilariously outdated and they wasted so much money on that crap. Same goes for today‘s Alexa or iPads or what have you. One computer and one smartphone is max you need.
The one guy who was making $17000 a month should have been working several min wage jobs if necessary. 17,000 isn't even full time minimum wage full time salary. they are sweet couple but being males one would think at least one would e making a lot more - granted this was maybe close to 15 years ago - still. AT least though they became homebodies they still were slim. I am not in debt but I should be saving more. My mom thinks I should have a million in cash, my home paid for and a car paid for when I retire plus a pension plan. I realized if I lived very frugally I might be able to save like over $4000 a month.

Dear God, if I were the Parents, I would say before you move in talk about Rent and the like. I remembered watching Queer As Folk and although Emmett Honeycutt was a "Social Butterfly" he managed to always pay his Rent and the like. Also not to sound stereotypical but Gay Guys live to party, if there are Seven Days per week, they would go out Four Days and do it all, The Gym, The Cafes, Restaurants, Clubhopping. If they had to choose between paying Bills or buying Food or the latest outfit, they would chose the "Outfit" or Food to eat and to keep up a image. His UK Counterpart Alexander quit is Job as a Waiter because he had to work on Saturday and he had to be where the Action was. After Nathan (Justin's UK Counterpart) moved back home with his Parents, Alexander asked if he could be a Boarder and take over Vincent's (Michael's UK Counterpart) Room.

She doesn't like what pets can do to a budget. I've read that a dog costs $5-10k/yr in the US between pet deposits, food, vet, etc. If you have no savings and adopt a pet, you may be sabotaging yourself.
A cat can be just as expensive. Even when they were young, my cats had heart problems and needed an ultrasound every year. I lost one in June and it was difficult. Animals are family, sometimes better.
I'm pretty sure Jesus said something about not judging others because they sin differently than you. Tend your own house before tearing down someone else's dear.
