Stubb is in no way a respectable or a well-liked character. He's an EU-bureaucrat's kind of politician. A lackey. Not a leader for the people, nor a responsible representative. This is just him putting a new flourish on a previous thorough failure in Finnish politics.
I can't underscore enough how much I detest his political legacy and the general lack of respect for the common man evident in his manner of public presentation. A deeply dishonest man.

After cold war politicians and most people in Finland realised that we don't need to bow down to Russia anymore and there had been always outreach from ourside to built relations before and after 1917 to get us into 'European family' and abroad. Now that work is paying off.
Our NATO partners respect us and regardless what POTUS or Trump says Finland is highly regarded amongts USA armed forces and they have been coming here for joint operation training for years and decades to learn artic warfare with our Nordic defense family before we were in NATO.

The invisible Niinistö is or had a doctrine? The invisible man who only under pressure dared to support membership in Europe’s NATO defence alliance? • @lumihanki5631
      @lumihanki5631 หลายเดือนก่อน

I have never voted for either of them, just to be clear, and I don't raise political leaders into a cult like pedestal. The fact is that ever since Koivisto our presidency has been on the downslope as far as leadership goes. Halonen terms were mainly rounded on pickering over domestic policy even though the President was never supposed to meddle in tht realm. Even foreign policy was stripped from the presidents grasp.
Niinistö worked behind closed doors to restore that office. Niinistö brought back leadership of the president in foreign affairs when they mattered. Stubb has clearly got the message and is staying in the reins and the Prime Minister's office is back to matters concerning domestic policy. That is the Niinistö-Stubb doctrine in its shared value base.
The Presidency in Finland is the only direct election we have as we deemed it necessary for ourselves to be able to directly influence our decision on the leader of our country. Our government is elected out of representatives of the public in an indirect vote, as we are a Republic.
Niinistö-Stubb legacy will be the restoration of our intended government and presidency after over 20 year long period of not having had a single four year government lasting a full term with the same prime minister or cabinet.

The President of Finland speaks sensibly. After all, the Finns had the same problems in 1939 as we Ukrainians.
However, the words that NATO has become stronger should not give Europeans self-confidence in their own security
There are key problems of NATO that need to be solved
    1. A complete lack of experience in waging a modern war. Yes, you can look at the war in Ukraine, but this will not help
    2. NATO's main military potential is in the United States overseas. The transfer of forces and logistics can be a big challenge
    3. There are no domestic long-range missile programs such as Tomahawk or Kalibr, and there are also no ballistic missile programs. And this is very unpleasantly surprising
    4. Psychological unpreparedness to wage a long, exhausting war with large losses. Russia is achieving success at the front thanks to large losses of soldiers - is Europe ready for this?
    5. Russia has absolutely no need to fight with the whole of NATO - for a start, for example, it will attack Latvia - are the Germans, the French or even the Finns ready to fight next to the Latvians? After all, no one has ever tested how the 5th article works in practice, everyone relied on diplomacy and common sense - but what if the Russians don't care about it?

All sorts of lobbying requires funds, and the deregulatory lobbyists gain money from their policies being implemented, whilst regulative lobbyists lose money from their policies being implemented.
To fight the power, you need power. Good will and wishful thinking will not be enough. The system will eventually selfregulate, once the cost of a polluted environment becomes evident in infant mortality, low education, high healthcare costs etc. Only once the people can't work anymore, will workers gain rights. The only thing growing in the Russian economy is arms production. Metal products that turn into scrap metal in Ukraine in just weeks after production.

Finland btw has dragged its feet on aiding ukraine and is still doing so, were also at like the last place when it comes to the ammount of aid we have given so this guy is just talking shit and wants others to do it for us

    •  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Finland is somewhere around median in amount of aid as percentage of GDP.

Stubb is a far right politician from Finland. Right means inequality and pro-security or pro-freedom. Arming Ukraine is inequality between the West and Russia and pro-security. He thinks Russia is a potential threat and that parents are a potential threat to the children. That is why he puts a child protection system in an unequal position compared to parents to patronize and dictate parents in a so called support by and co-operation setting by the official social workers, where concern-notices spread prejudices, attitudes and opinions against the parents and submit us to his officials.

Somehow you fail to understand that the President of Finland has zero power in domestic policy and has nothing to do with the matters of children and parents.

Over the centuries, their habbit has been to steal from their neighboring countries. They r always hostile towards civilians. I always tell guys like u to read history and learn from it.

He's an old school neoliberal, a federalist and openly elitist. That's not far right in Finland. National Coalition won the civil war over 100 years ago and have been in the parliament ever since. They started as monarchists and reformed into staunch protectors of faith, economy and the Republic. That's as middle of the road politics as you can get.
By your standard that would make King Charles as a far-right figure. You're essentially telling everyone that you're a filthy communist without explicitly airing it out.
