Legend. So thankful I met Vinnie twice…he couldn’t have been any nicer of a guy.
‘94 at the Camelot Music Mayfield Heights, Ohio FBD album release signing. Only guy in the band that gave fans the time of day. Shook hands, chatted, just a class act.
Then in ‘96 or ‘97 I’m working at the old Brendamour’s Sporting Goods in Toledo, Ohio. Day before the show at the Toledo Sports arena he walks in and buys a new pair of drumming shoes - Reebok Club C’s - from me. I shit myself when he walked in, couldn’t believe it. Again, so nice to everybody - took time to talk to me for a few minutes. Such a good dude. RIP VP

This goes to show how talented Vinnie Paul was but also how tight he was, just think this was recorded in 2011, he'd only been with hellyeah since 2006 and Dime had only died 6 years prior and to see him loving his life and enjoying drums and music just shows the strength of the man. I was fortunate enough to see Vinnie Paul live and I feel sorry for the future generation that will never get to see him live. Vinnie Paul was truly a master of modern metal drumming and he will be missed forever. Vinnie must of went through hell to keep playing knowing he kept going for himself and for Dimebag. He was one hell of a guy and he earned the respect of everyone. RIP Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul

Bouncing drums. I love all the greats who got us all here, but you know you've got a heavy hitting bad ass when the the drums are bouncing and rocking all over the place. I bet subconsciously Vinnie Paul knows where a drum will be, in that particular part of the beat, and how to swing, to hit the drum in the perfect spot, for the best sound and optimum response, even though the drum is not in the same place as it was before everything started bouncing around. Ive been playing for a while, and in my time I've watched drum sets morph into huge instruments....with lots and lots of cymbals. The greats that inspired me had a crash, and a ride...thats all. There's drums and cymbals everywhere now. Kick ass video. I love seeing it up close. There were no drum cams back in the day either. Great invention. Rest in Peace Vinnie Paul

So tight live, always remaining right in the pocket, power for days and an envious snare rim-shot. I still love to play many of Vinnie’s PANTERA drum tracks to this day, regularly warming up on songs like ‘Slaughtered’ and ‘Throes of Rejection’.

Just imagine if Pantera worked out their problems, if dime didn’t get shot, and if Vinnie never died. Pantera’s music would still be as inspiring as it is to this day RIP Vinnie and Dime 🙏

I thought I was the only one who rested his left hand on his leg in between snare hits.
