      Can you look into CDCR and Hector Bravo a youtube content creator like yourself. He speaks from a position of corruption and extremely negative. I wanted to see your perspective and your point of view. Speaks in terms of CDCR coming down on you even if you follow policy. (California Department of Corrections) this would be a great Video.

    Straight facts...CO out in NJ and consistently is key...respect is a must and verbal judo cant definitely keep you out of situations if u feel it can go left...I deal with the younger population and from what I heard it is the most volatile and unpredictable population to control and handle but its the career is definitely rewarding...no one in the facility I work at makes less than 100k a year...Starting pay just increased to 70,000 first year out the acadmey...only problem is our academy is 22 weeks long...

    All facts!! Also remember you can change a NO into a yes but it’s hard to change a YES into a No. so never tell an inmate yes to something unless you absolutely know you can do it. Your word is all you have behind that wall

    We had a "Mafia floor". It comprised mostly of wise guys. It was the best floor to work because they rarely gave staff trouble. The other inmates were affected by the low-profile sentiment and followed this behavior. Maybe the others got the hint to comply or else. They were intelligent negotiators and not aggressive. I worked the night we had a citywide power failure. This meant elevators and telephones also went out. We were concerned about the lone female working that floor. The inmates were all out and not locked into their cells. Anything was possible. It took us about 20 minutes to reach her. She was as safe as if she was home with her family. She said she felt safer there than anywhere else in NYC. The guys protected her. We know this isn't assured every time.

      prison is prison tbh bro. when i transferred to the federal prison im now at in North Carolina, they said its one of the best facilities in the BOP. ive been there now since 2015, and we have had multiple inmate homicides, inmate suicides, so anything can happen at any prison. never underestimate any facility or inmate. alot of inmates at my prison were once max custody that worked their way day, they can be one bad day or bad situation from relapsing

    I'll have a life conversation with the inmates. However, I WILL NOT TALK about their cases at all. The inmates know this too. I keep whats discussed in the courtroom, IN THE COURTROOM. The inmates know this too. I tell them, "keep that conversation for you, your attorney's, and probation and parole officers."

  • @thomasryan2679
    @thomasryan2679 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Why do CO's emphasize respect? We're not in a job that makes friends. We lock people up and restrict their liberty. So many staff yearn respect, that the inmates manipulate you over this. When an inmate says. "you're the best CO we've ever had. They say this to butter you up. Then they want something in return. Many uninitiated officers fall for this. We don't deal with moral people. Buttering up an officer works better than threats or hatred. Don't dwell on this stupid shit.

      @@TheGhettoBodybuilder I'm a correctional officer (previously a CO). My job was to keep felons locked up. I couldn't give 2 shits if they respected me or not. Our inmates are not moral people and their respect isn't needed. Sometimes not liking me proves I'm doing my job. My job is making sure they don't break out. This is determined by counts. Sometimes we get the job done with happy inmates. Other times, we get the job done with unhappy ones. Permit me to say just one more thing, when the riot goes down, the soft officer is the first to get assaulted.
