Your project planning and organization is impressive. I feel like I need to do that with our upcoming move. Yes the house finally sold! Thanks again for making time to meet up and visit!! 💗
I have an Animal Crossing backpack my kids bought me for my birthday a couple of years ago. I am always working on socks and many times working on more than one pair. I keep all my sock needles and tools in that bag and my sock projects in there so if I am dashing out the door and need something to take along, I can just grab that.
#THANK YOU!!! Oh boy....Natalie, you have saved me so much time with your analysis of the yarn shortage for the Battenberg! I'm making it too, and I'm using an Advent set from Emma's Yarn (looking forward to your episode about her!) It's called the Smalliday set, and it had 25 20-gram skeins of fingering (there's a DK one also). I had made the same miscalculation you had, and was about to place an order for 600 grams of a background color from her. Whoops. So glad you shared your thought process on that one! I made the same adjustment you had to the size of my squares, based on watching your earlier videos, and I have 7 more mini-skeins to make up into squares. I would have been so disappointed
when you go back to NC may I suggest purl's yarn emporium in asheville. I visited there last summer on a road trip. they were so sweet, and they even had their own hand dyed yarn by the store owner 😊
Okay as an Athens local who has attended Knit Nights with Ryan from Ryan yarns I was so excited to see one of his colorways in the hexie blanket. It's all come full circle bc it was Nat that inspired me to also make this pattern, but Ryan's yarn that I used to do my motifs. So it kinda blows my mind that I get to support two of my favorite yarny inspirations at once.
Watching you and crazy sock lady has made me find so many new yarn websites to buy from. I ordered from fanfiber girl and yarnable and who knows what else. Been wanting a calendar for awhile now, buying now :)
The Sewrella yarn looks like the colorway 'You Need To Calm Down' from their Taylor Swift collection! Its inspired by the song from the Lover album. Its such a fun color, especially with the stellina!
Enjoying the changes. As you likely have left, if you could not take a calendar, consider getting pictures sent of each month so you can still enjoy and use it from a distance for now. Happy travels.
Great first episode of the new year! Love the new segments and graphics! Glad you liked the Florida yarns from Three By the Sea and Mandismakings! So fun to see them in your hexie blanket! Safe travels!😊
I think bringing a smaller project back for Kent's socks makes a lot of sense. That will also give you another size option for whatever your projects may look like in the spring
#question I watch you in Finland and I've never been in The States so I don't really have an idea of the distances there. It would be fun to know how many miles you have traveled so far in the van 😊 And another one: Now that you talked of the doodles I started thinking that colourwork socks don't seem to be that popular there. I follow a couple of vloggers and hand dyed yarn and plain vanilla socks seem to be The Thing. Am I right? Or do I just happen to follow people who don't like colourwork that much 😅 Safe travels!😊
I wish I could come see you at Paper Crane! I love it there! I only live about an hour away but we already had other plans. ☹️ Have a great time and I can't wait to watch your tour video!
I'm from Athens, GA. I was excited to see Ryan's yarn in your video. I've taken some classes from Ryan and he's wonderful. Enjoy it and come back to Athens, GA to visit Revival Yarns.
I know this sounds crazy but while watching the podcast the shot for acquisitions gave me an idea 💡! The picture shows a rainbow 🌈 of minis and it made me think about what you had said in reference to the blanket you crocheted. Where you mentioned warm colors versus cool colors and I think it would be neat to make a warm colored and a cool colored garment. Maybe as a fade or with solid colors or single but I thought that sounded wonderful. Maybe even something we could do as a TH-cam channel 😊🧶 As always enjoy the podcast and love and stitches ❤
When you come through Virginia I hope you’ll stop in Richmond (our capital and formerly the capital of the confederacy) … lots of history! In the metro area there are two great shops worth your visit - Dances with Wool is south of the city; The Center of the Yarniverse is in Ashland, VA. There are many colleges and universities here (some really great basketball) and some great historic sites (White House of the Confederacy, Hollywood Cemetery, and of course Monument Ave minus the monuments). RVA also boasts one of the top art museums in country - the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. I hope you and Kent consider Richmond.
I don’t think I could do it; I don’t think I could leave projects behind… I would feel like I’m abandoning them LOL. You’re amazing, can’t wait to see what adventures this year holds for you, Kent, and Toaster! So excited for you to come back to Arizona!
oh yay you might come through my town on your way to Gulfport !!!!! ( depending on where you are traveling from ) anyway this is exciting I live in Magee MS and if you come 49 south our town is between Jackson and Hattisburg . I love love love that we all are getting to go on y'all's traveling adventure .......... thanks for taking us along !!!!!!
Natalie, love your yarn shop tours--but I think you may have caused an addiction!! I've ordered from two of the stores now 🎉. Just loved the yarn from Ruby & Roses. Absolutely gorgeous!!! I just ordered from Eat, Sleep and Knit. They are so nice and I'm excited to get my hands on their yarn. You, Kent and toaster are awesome!! Remember to take time to enjoy and rest along the way. It's ok to take a day or two to just savor where you're at. 💗
Eeek! So excited to hear that you’re making the Garti Cardi! I somehow missed the podcast that you first mentioned that. I made one as well and it’s an excellent pattern. I’m excited to see how all the pinks work up 😁
You make me laugh,,,, I love your Chevron blanket😁 You have so inspired me,,, this past year I made a granny square blanket like you did and I finished it for Christmas to give to my daughter 😃. Thank you soooo much for all the inspiration on knitting and crocheting!
Every time I see the Battenberg blanket I love it even more. I want to try making the blanket, and also want to bake a Battenberg cake one day, but not sure how gluten-free cake would hold up to the construction. Your hexie blanket is growing like a weed! Well done! ~Brenda
I love the OHWOW bags. They take up almost no space. Once you use it some and the stiffness relaxes, you'll see. They also make little ones that are perfect for socks.
That was so fun!' so sorry I missed you as you passed thru my area of east TN. I love your travel plans! Any chance you may travel into Canada...maybe Vancouver and Victoria? I know you would love it and it would increase your subscribers so much. There are so many male knitters there. Knitting is not considered woman's work there. We really miss that comeaderie!
#QUESTION I know you're actually doing the Battenberg question, but realistically, do you recommend it as a scrap blanket and/or are there other blanket patterns/designs that interest you to do for a future scrap blanket when you do finish the Battenberg that you're considering for yourself? Looking forward to what you share with us in your travelling adventures in 2024!
If you love it, I'd say yes! It is a tedious project in a way, but the result is beautiful. I have felt very motivated by working all the colorful squares up first, then getting to enjoy them all a second time as I join the squares together!
Hi Natalie, it's so great to see you in 2024 as well! #question: have you weighed how much yarn you used in 2023? I know you keep track of the incoming yarn but what about knitted/crocheted yarn? I am curious how many kg does a prolific knitter like you uses in one year ? 😊 Thank you and look forward for the next episode!
#question you mentioned you are wearing wool t-shirts. Did you mean cotton? If not, I'd love to know the brand! My family is very interested in cultivating an mostly natural fibers wardrobe and the thought of wool (versus your typical cotton) is appealing. Thanks!
What was the place you went to in sav, Ga. I live 20 min from there. Wonderful ng was it a knitting store. I know of one small one in sav, it’s name is unwind. Mode of a small one. Better than micheals or hobby Lobby. Used to be a large one here but moved, we sure need a larger we one here.
#question Have you had to repair a hole in a Musselburgh hat? I watched your video how to repair a hole but I’m struggling since I can’t get the the wrong side. Thanks!
Ooh I haven't needed to repair a hole. That sounds really tricky! You may need to just try to isolate the outer layer and try to repair from the knit side only. Good luck!
We don't want to make the van any longer, so we've avoided adding things to the back. As for the top, I think it's a sense of pride for us to keep everything in the van, lol. Plus the convenience!
I am kinda curious of how you will be receiving... and your mom would be sending any projects to you. Will you, do you have stops when you know that you know someone or have a relationship with a specific yarn shop where she can send it? or General mail in a smaller town or area you will be staying? Or doing the big bucks and have it overnighted via DHL or Fed-Ex, or UPS?
We can usually time up mail to when we're staying at a campground. Some will allow us to send ahead of our arrival there. That way we know we won't miss it!
I live 20 min from sesquicentennial park, my kid love going over there. There is a dryer in North Carolina called Queen City Yarns and another small dyer in one of the Carolinas Wendy’s Wonders who does stunning gradients
#question I am working on a sweater currently and unfortunately I didn’t buy enough yarn originally and I couldn’t find the same dye lot when buying more of the same colour. The colours are slightly different so I decided to fade them together using helical knitting for about 10-14 rounds. The problem is I can figure out how to switch back to using only one stand of yarn without creating a jog where I finish the other strand of helical. Do I just have to live with the jog (maybe strategically place it under the arm sleeve/at the side seam so it’s less visible?)? Any advice would be appreciated!
I've always just lived with the jog! I think placing it strategically under the arm or even on the back is a great solution. It will be less visible after you weave in the end and block it too!
I love the idea of a knitting travel vlog! It’s been fun watching you guys traveling around over the last few months.
Thank you!
Your project planning and organization is impressive. I feel like I need to do that with our upcoming move. Yes the house finally sold!
Thanks again for making time to meet up and visit!! 💗

I keep all my sock needles and tools in that bag and my sock projects in there so if I am dashing out the door and need something to take along, I can just grab that.
You could always put your travel blanket on the back of your couch! It’s big enough now that you can actually use it as you work in it.
Ooh this is a good idea!
A good place to hang a calendar in an RV is the inside of a cupboard😊
Your Battenberg blanket is gorgeous!
Thank you for the tips for the Musselburgh Hat. I finished mine right in time for the cooler days in Germany. It fit‘s perfekt.
Fantastic!
Love the battenberg blanket, it really is beautiful!!
Thank you so much!

Aww how cool!
It's called the back bump 💜 in crochet
Ooh okay! I've also heard it called "the butt" hehe
So fun seeing all the places you visit. Hoping I can meet you the next time y’all are in NC. Thanks so much for sharing your travels. 😊
Hi Natalie love your advent crochet blanket, safe travel s Kaye x
Thank you! 😊

Thank you, Jen!
Whenever you come back to NC, I know of a few NC yarn shops to visit that have NC dyed yarn! Your projects are STUNNING!
Ooh thank you! I need to add some to my blanket!

Love to see you on your travels! I think your planning for travel knitting is a good idea but definitely leave room for purchases along the way 🤣
Great idea to combine knitting and travel vlog ❤ thank you
I just learned about the Tree that Owns Itself today, what a weird coincidence!
That's wild!!
I don’t think I could do it; I don’t think I could leave projects behind… I would feel like I’m abandoning them LOL. You’re amazing, can’t wait to see what adventures this year holds for you, Kent, and Toaster! So excited for you to come back to Arizona!
Thank you so much for the content. Looking forward to the new format. Take care❤
Hello Natalie, Kent and Toaster. Love this episode you were in my area. . NC
oh yay you might come through my town on your way to Gulfport !!!!! ( depending on where you are traveling from ) anyway this is exciting I live in Magee MS and if you come 49 south our town is between Jackson and Hattisburg . I love love love that we all are getting to go on y'all's traveling adventure .......... thanks for taking us along !!!!!!
Okay woah! I think I need those sewrella rose gold needles! They are so prettyyyyyy! I just got the all pink Lykke set and I love them 😊😍🥰💕💕💕
Do you have more information on the float tote? That looks awesome!
I do! It was my very first design 🥹
www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/float-tote-family
I love Ryan!! Met him in Athens GA
Natalie, love your yarn shop tours--but I think you may have caused an addiction!! I've ordered from two of the stores now 🎉. Just loved the yarn from Ruby & Roses. Absolutely gorgeous!!! lokking forward to making a battenburg blanket
Eeek! So excited to hear that you’re making the Garti Cardi! I somehow missed the podcast that you first mentioned that. I made one as well and it’s an excellent pattern. I’m excited to see how all the pinks work up 😁
You make me laugh,,,, I love your Chevron blanket😁
You have so inspired me,,, this past year I made a granny square blanket like you did and I finished it for Christmas to give to my daughter 😃. Thank you soooo much for all the inspiration on knitting and crocheting!
Fabulous episode! I love the changes you made. The new graphics are such fun. Cheers to a new year of yarnie and travel adventures.
I live near Charlotte, NC. The Fibre Studio and Hearts on Fiber dye their own yarn.
Ooh thank you!
I’m soooo excited to see your Garti Cardi!!!
With the Sewrella yarn, a simple basic tee. Or a batwing like the amaranth top by nomad stitches!
Great idea!!
My favorite 5 skein 20 gram pattern is Quintet Shawlette by Ambah O'Brien
That was so fun!' so sorry I missed you as you passed thru my area of east TN.
I love your travel plans! Any chance you may travel into Canada...maybe Vancouver and Victoria? I know you would love it and it would increase your subscribers so much. There are so many male knitters there. Knitting is not considered woman's work there. We really miss that comeaderie!
We are definitely planning to go to Canada! I believe Vancouver and Toronto are on the list 😁

Looking forward to what you share with us in your travelling adventures in 2024!
Sewrella teas are my favorite!
Just tried it and the "Mint Magic" is amazing!
The color kit I believe are references to 80’song
Ohhh
Love the Battenburg blanket, reminds me of a quilt. I have not been a crochet person so would this be a good pattern to start my journey?
If you love it, I'd say yes! It is a tedious project in a way, but the result is beautiful. I have felt very motivated by working all the colorful squares up first, then getting to enjoy them all a second time as I join the squares together!

Ooh that is interesting! That isn't a metric I've tracked so far, but would be fun to do!
Maybe you could clip you tips and put them in a separate playlist?
#question you mentioned you are wearing wool t-shirts. Did you mean cotton? If not, I'd love to know the brand! My family is very interested in cultivating an mostly natural fibers wardrobe and the thought of wool (versus your typical cotton) is appealing. Thanks!
I mean wool! They are awesome. I have been wearing Unbound Merino and love them.

It's called The Frayed Knot! Small, but so cute and a great community.

Wait, did you say wool t-shirts? Where do you get those? I need to get my hands on some!
Needles and notions?
I am kinda curious of how you will be receiving... and your mom would be sending any projects to you. Read Crescent City by SJM next!!!
Can you put the reading thing on the couch during the day?
I'd rather not as we use it often. My goal is to have everything put away!

@@KnittyNatty Thank you for the advice ❤️
Hey Natalie. Where do I get the kit for the doodle cowl
I got mine from Fangirl Fibers: www.fangirlfibers.com/
I know that Pretty Twisted Yarns also carries them: prettytwistedyarns.com/?ref=knittynatty
I went to the website and there was nothing. She must be closed
Wait, what? Machine made gloves??
Question: Did you find your missing notions pouch when you got back to your parents’ house?
YES!!!
Remember your small accessories bag , you May have forgotten at your parentes ( english is not my first language , i am from Denmark )
I found it!! Thank you for the reminder!
