    What beautiful items for gifting. I was so happy to see this new episode. Your top is a gorgeous color on you. Those blankets are gorgeous. I don't crochet but am slowly being drawn into the rabbit hole 😂❤✝️🙏

    Dear Anna, I am watching your podcast while knitting my miter blanket. My Mom ( Mueti) in Switzerland always had an Übergangsjacke. I had totally forgotten about this word till I heard you talk about it. Mueti died in 2021, a few months short of being 100 years old. She was a much better knitter than I am. I still remember the looong Strumpfhosen ( pantyhose) she knitted for me when I was already fully grown. One day, I went out roller skating, and as I fell to my horror, I had a hole in the knee of brand new Strumpfhosen.😮 She wasn't mad at me. She knitted the most beautiful sweaters, and from her, I learned how to knit socks. I enjoy watching all the beautiful items you knit, but I also admire the gifts you have received for people in need❤

      I am laughing as I am writing my 2nd comment today. I apologize for taking up more space to add a few more words. Was I ever surprised to see that my comment was chosen from when I recently praised you on your miter square tutorial. At that time, I really thought my handiwork would end up being a pillow. Since then, I have changed my mind and bought a few more colorful skeins of sock yarn. I love knitting these squares so much that I will now make it into a blanket, after all. I agree with you, though. It's good to be flexible and occasionally change direction, be that with yarn or in life. For now, I simply enjoy this project, but soon, I will go back to knitting socks. By the way, I feel honored that you have chosen my response for your podcast. And yes, in a few months, it will be 50 years since we arrived in the USA. Thank you for bringing such joy to many people's lives with your educational but also fun podcast ❤

    Love the concept of the transition jacket ! In English you could say, in-between jacket but the German word is very useful.

    I love the St. Patrick's colorway. My birthday is on March 17. ☘️. You have a lovely color aesthetic. If shipping wasn't so high from the EU to the US I would treat myself. Thank you for the enjoyable podcast.

      I find the shipping to be less than from several countries and Anna's yarns are some of the most beautiful I've seen. Perhaps you can find someone to share the cost.

    Hello Anna, I love your channel and the many projects you are involved with and working on, especially Make and Pray. Your faith is beautiful. In many parts of the US we would call the Übergangsjacke a "light" jacket as opposed to the "heavy" jackets we wear in the winter.

    Hi Anna, we have this word also in The Netherlands. Its “overgangsjas” or “tussenjas” :)
    I just bought one last week 🤗

    • @annaknitter

      I lived quite close to the border to the Netherlands. I am not surprised that it’s one of the things we have in common.😂

      Yes, I was going to comment the same thing! Tussenjas means literally “in between jacket”. I’m however still wearing my winter jacket right now. It’s still rather cold!

    Thank you for showing your beautiful Lent socks and the St. Patrick socks are gorgeous. You have inspired me to knit my socks with double points and I am loving the process. I have never truly liked the magic loop method and the little circulars hurt my fingers after a few rows, but with the dpns I can knit a long time. Love your channel.

    Beautiful make and pray items. Such generous followers you have. Here in Michigan we just call our transition jackets spring jackets. Our weather is similar to what my daughter has in Bavaria. I must learn to crochet. Would love to make a blanket like the one you received for Make and Pray.

    Anna I watch your podcasts and enjoy them very much! I am wondering if you can do a tutorial on doing heels and toes in different color yarn? I have so much trouble joining and also my socks that I have made have holes sometimes and also come apart!

    Oh I would love the dark blue with the gold lurex, it is beautiful. I understand the peace you feel after dropping a yarn subscription, it's crazy how stressful yarn can be! I am hoping to learn crochet this year, it appears so much faster than knitting.

    • @annaknitter

      It is much much faster! And addictive in a very positive way.

    Hi Anna
    In Denmark we have the same word: overgangsjakke because a winter jacket is too warm and a summer jacket too cold 🤷‍♀️

  • @FuwaAmi

    Hi. We have transition jacket in Serbia - we call it "a jacket for transition period". It was a must have before in every home, usually in between winter-spring and summer-autmn, but nowadays, the climate has changed so much, so we can spend even a whole year without wearing it since these transition periods sometimes simply don't exist.

    Hi
    I have just bought your knitting table on Etsy
    Maybe because I am French
    But I don’t understand the decrease for the toes.
    I will cast on 60 stitches?
    Thank you 😊

    • @annaknitter

      The table tells you how often you have to decrease in which round. For example if it sais 2 times in the third round that means: knit two rounds, then decrease in the third round. Repeat one more time. Was that helpful?

Muss man halt googeln.

      Ich habe für den Schal Regenwald 18 Die Expedition - Lianen Laila genommen.

    I do not like how fringe looks when washed normally Anna.. My only solution has been to hand wash or to wash in the machine but inside a laundry bag. I hang the scarf to air dry and separate the fringe strands Sometimes I fluff the scarf briefly in the dryer ...

    • @annaknitter

      The biggest problem for me is that they loosen in the washing machine. Don’t they do that in a washing bag? That would be great!

    • @debracubitt6191

      @annaknitter I did not have a problem with the strands coming out Anna. I selected laundry bags with zippers and a small mesh close in size to the folded scarf I used a short washing cycle I sometimes double bag the scarf.

  • @shirleycoonce8726

    Adding fringe to that beautiful pattern used for the scarf would not be necessary. Its beautiful without it. Fringe in my opinion is over rated and a headache to deal with, both adding it and keeping it neat.
    I wouldn't stress over it. I love the scarf as is!
